Title: Favorite video game and why
Post by: F-14 Ace on December 04, 2005, 10:47:22 PM
B) My favorite video game of all time is Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War made by Namco.  I have always had a love for airplanes.  The graphics are beautiful andthe jets are highly detaled.  The storyline is great too.  There is a sad part of the game though.  One of the characters named Chopper gets killed half way through.

The only video game I've ever played is Smash Brothers Melee for Game Cube.  Can't really coin a favorite if I've only played one.    That game is clean fun...no blood, no "painful" deaths, and the goal is pretty much to just knock the others off the edge.  Nobody literally dies so to speak.

I did have Mortal Kombat 3 for the PC before Windows stopped using DOS altogether and you couldn't boot to it, and that was the dark, bloody, death-fight game.

Kingdom Hearts is my favorite.  The guys at both Disney and Squaresoft really worked good together.  I can't wait for the sequal to come out in March (hopefully).

Does video game include computer games as well?
I never had a play console and did play Zelda Occarina of time only during a students exchange. I liked it though and with no other video games I ever played all through I suppose the is no way but giving Occarina of time the rare label of being "Malte's favorite" (for lack of knowledge about other possibilities).

I could go on forever about video games but my number one at the moment is Resident Evil 4. My brother's got the Gamecube version and I've got the PS2 version. Difference? GC's Resi runs a lot smoother and graphical index is much higher. PS2 has more in the way of content. It has everything from the GC version but a special side story to play as well! Seriously not for the faint hearted tho! The amount of gore is almost sickening! :o
Not gonna go into it though...might cause offense! LOL :DD It's been rated as one of the top 10 most violent and gory games ever! Dunno if that's a good thing or a bad thing really  But saying that it is also in the running for Top Game of the Year 2005! :)

Can't wait for Resi 5 on the next-gen consoles! Gonna be wickid! ;)

Any game will work as your favorite if you like it.  I just love Ace Combat 5 because of a great storyline and graphics and music.  Plus all the cool jets including my favorite, the F-14 D Tomcat.  Oh and computer games count too.

I got Ace Combat 5 too.  Just got by the mission Demons of Razgriz (haven't played the game for a few months now, so I'm sure of the spelling of the mission).

I like Ace Combat 4 a little better.  Less hassle than having to command 3 wingmen in the heat of the battle.  As for planes, my personal favorite is the A-10 Thunderbolt, but I always favor the F-22 Raptor for the game.

Cool!  Hey, you can beat the submarine easily with a plane that has SOD dispencers.  I guess that you read that Chopper dies.  That part is sad.  I'll let you get to that part of the game though.  Question: How do you post pictures on here?  HELP!

I don't.
I played flight simulators too for a long time (WW1 and 2 though rather than jets). So long you are not bombing LBT characters  ;)

Don't worry, I don't kill LBT characters except bad guys.  By the way, Ace Combat 5's graphics are not fuzzy like the picture.  It is just the screenshot.

That was how I got by that.  All I did was keep to 5000 ft. and use the SOD on it.  I think the next mission is where Edge gets shot down and I would have to rescue her in the next mission.

The mission I hated the most so far was when my team and I had to do synchronized attacks on radar barriers.  Took me about a week to succeed. <_<

Just be glad you didn't get the mission where you protect the airport!  That one is a doozy!  I still have trouble.  It took me a week to beat the entire game.  Usually, I beat a game within two days, a week tops.  The only time this was different was when I played Star Wars: Bounty Hunter.  That game is HARD! By the way, there is a way to choose which mission you will do next.  Tip: There are two parts in the game when Chopper asks about a song.  your answer determins the next  mission.  When Chopper asks about the song the first time, say no and you will get Repraisle and that annoying radar mission.  Say yes and get the airport mission and that jungle mission.  the second time, say no and get Desert Lightning, my favorite mission.  Say yes and get Desert Arrow.  Trust me, it works.  I've done it loads of times.  This screen is a oicture of Chopper, my favorite character from the game.  Too bad he dies. :cry2  :cry2  :cry2  :cry2  :cry2  :cry2

Flight sims have never really been my thing. I did like Lylat Wars for the N64 back in 1997! LOL (StarFox 64 to all those outside Europe). I'm more of an Action/Adventure player myself...with a little RPGs playing now and then LOL  :DD

I recently played an old PS2 game called Sky Odyssey.  Graphics are alright and the background music is great.  Pretty good planes too.  I also played Star Wars Battlefront II.  I like the galactic conquest part the best.

My favorite video game would have to be "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time", because it was just so...grand...and epic. It had a great storyline, scary villains (especially Bongo-Bongo, Shadow Link, and Ganondorf), great characters all around, and it was just so much fun. It was the game that introduced me to the fact that a game can be as epic as the Tolkien books.

I adored Zelda OOT when it first came out back in '98! I wanted it for my birthday but they were sold out since before Xmas! I never really got into Zelda until I played OOT. I fell in love with it instantly! The story is solid and enchanting, the gameplay is flawless and the action is everything you could want! Mixture of brains and brawn when it comes to the dungeons too! My fav one has to be the Forest Temple! I like the boss for that stage too!

Since then, Zelda's become one of my all time fav RPGs. Next to Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts that is! ;)

Has anyone here ever heard of a game called Sky Odyssey?  Good game.  The weather effects are good.  It is a good game for anyone who enjoys non-violent yet challenging games.  I like it because I love airplanes.  There are a lot of old WWII planes.  A lot of German planes like the Me-262, Bf-109, and 2 versons of the  Shinden.  There is also the Swordfish Mk.1 and F-117 stealth fighter.

Yes!  I got two more PS2 games (Need for Speed:  Underground 2 and Burnout 3: Takedown) and a Game Boy Advance with Dynasty Warriors 5 during the season!  It gets creepy when you'd have to wait a half hour to an hour after playing racing games. :P:

Bit of a racer are ya Kenji?! LOL N4S: Underground's great for that "pimp my ride" sort element but Burnout's wicked for sheer adrenaline-rushed mayhem on the streets! LOL :lol Have you played Burnout Revenge? (Burnout 4). It's great coz you can pretty much denotate your car at any given moment to catch those rivals who are always just that little bit out of reach! My favourite racing game at the moment!

I'm still waiting for Kingdom Hearts 2 to hit the streets but looks like I'm looking at a wait that could last right up until May/June! :( Should be a title worth waiting for though if it's gone platinum in Japan in less than a fortnight! ;)

Sky Odyssey is kinda scary at times.  For example, there is one level where you are forced to fly at low altitude over volcanic terrain to avoud a storm and have to avoid volcanic columns of lava.  It is so realistic that it is truely scaary.  A lot of very odd situations in that game.  Like flying through canyons duting electrical storms and stuff like that.  Very challenging.

I too have enjoyed several games on the Gamecube.

LoZ: WW (Despite the non pleasing graphics, it was a good game to play all the way through.  Quite some tough bosses.)

SSB:M (Love it so much, I even made 3 fics for it.  Only one I have completed.  Which was in script format.  Which I am rewriting now.) ^.^

Pikmin (Don't know what it is exactly that I like about it.  Maybe it's the fact these little guys can beat up enemies a million times their size.  I'm currently trying to beat the bare min. speed challenge. (Grow ONLY 50 Pikmin.  Don't lose a single one.  Do it in 9 days. (2 hours and 15 min.)) It has indeed proven to be THE hardest able to beat challenge ever made.  Out of all to try it, only one has beat it.)

Out of N64 games...

LoZ: OoT (Graphics, storyline and gameplay are all a masterpiece.  There are also some bosses I just LOVE to kill.  Currently trying the bare item 3 heart challenge. (This actually means NO Lens of Truth.  That ends up making Shadow Temple quite a challenge.) Have yet to beat it though.)

Banjo-Kazooie (This is quite a fun game.  The idea of a bear and bird taking on a witch is just so enjoyable.  Currently trying the speed challenge. (4 hours is quite a feat.  Espically with a game that automatically saves when you turn it off.) Have yet to beat that.)

Out of GBA:

Pokemon (MY FAV!  It's not the cute little animals or the storyline.  It's the battles.  That's the main thing that has made it so famous.  Thanks to the specially made on-line battle simulator, this has been proven to be a straegy game that rivals that of chess.  Sometimes, the strategies made can be so tough, that they prove to be hard to beat for even masters in the end.  It's a game that will probably last until the earth's end.)

Okay, that's all I can think of.

As you can see, I have a nice list of games to entertain me when I'm bored. :)

My favorite games tend to be anything that has a strong multiplayer option.

I rarely tend to play games by myself.  When I'm alone, I'm often working on some sort of project, or playing an Online game, such as Unreal Tournament.

I like playing games for the social aspect, and for the feeling you get from trying to hunt down, or outplay your buddy, or even some random person over the Internet.  I just can't get that same feeling playing against the computer, or a "story mode" kind of game.  I prefer the interaction.

Now that I've established that, my favorite games for:

PC:
-the Unreal Tournament series (preferrably without mods...I don't like mods :pP)
-Stepmania (Stepmania.com (http://www.stepmania.com))
-Diablo II
-Serious Sam series
-Quake 3 (I want to get Quake 4, but I need a new processor first   )-Gunbound, to an extent

Gamecube:
-Mario Party 5
-Mario Party 7
-Super Smash Bros: Melee
-Super Mario Strikers

X-Box:
-NHL 2006
-Crimson Skies
-More that I can't think of right now  :p

PS2:
-The Dance Dance Revolution series  :lol
-Twisted Metal: Black
-More that I can't think of right now  :p

I was never really into playing games for the story.  To me, games were a source of interaction and fun with my friends.  I find the big single-player games take too much dedication, and I just can't hold my interest in them that long, on my own.

I never tried playing online before.  I haven't even been able to get my Multi-Player adapter (made for 4 players) to work when I got Turbo Prop Racing for PS1. <_<

Oh and Littlefoot:  I haven't gotten Burnout 4 yet, but it's next on my list!  Right behind Soul Calibur 3.

Never cared much for online games.  Star Wars Battlefront has perfect online play but Battlefront II is clunky.  I only played online at my friend's house.  I don't have anadapter for my PS2.  Anyway, I don't want to have to pay for the online fee which is 50 bucks.

I only play free online games (such as Unreal Tournament), and I don't subscribe to any console online services.

When I mentioned console games, I mainly referred to having a few friends get together and play them, as opposed to playin online.
In the PC games, I tend to play them mostly over LAN with my friend and I.  I don't go online often, but it's something to do when I need a break from random projects  :lol

Me personally, when it comes to video games, I much prefer to sit at a screen with a console than look to a PC. That's just my personal preference. About the only game I've played online was a Half-life 2 deathmatch but because I loved the single player...my friend recommended we try out a deathmatch online. I had great fun but being a newbie...I got slaughtered!  :( Before I even knew I'd respawned, I was dead again! PMSL!  :o The experience was awesome though. We're planning to do it again...this time, I'll be ready! :D

I prefer the console games generally, as well.  The only reason I tend to play PC games is for when my friends and I get together to LAN a PC game.  As a matter of fact, I purchased Unreal Tournament 2004, just a couple of days ago, for that reason alone  :DD .
Aside from that, console games are still the quick, easy fix for most of my gaming needs  :lol

Nice choice of games LF fan! Earthbound is the RPG that has Ness in it right? I heard about it but it was never released in Europe. In fact, I only heard about Ness at first through Smash Bros on the N64. Well, during the console wars of the 90s, I was a Sega Megadrive player (Genesis outside Europe) rather than a SNES player. I still have my old consoles and I still play them now! I'll all about old skool when it comes to games...some modern games just can't cut it for me. One game I've even appealed to Sega via email to remake is Streets of Rage. My personal, all-time favourite beat 'em up game of the 90s and I've yet to see a modern recreation of it since. I think the closet I've heard about is the upcoming Final Fight: Streetwise which (back in the day) worked along the same sorta lines. It was Capcom's answer to SOR, good but not as successful. Think some remakes could work out to be big sellers

I Rarely play RPGs, but I actually played through this one about 4 times.  Awesome game!

You also reminded me of Super Mario RPG for the SNES.  I loved this game as well, though it was too short.  Can get through it in basically a day's worth of playing.

haha, The music in that game was the most Unique soundtrack I think I have ever seen - it was awesome :D

The music was beautiful in points where it needed to be, it suited the off-the-wall feeling of the game, and it waas a style that hardly exists in any other game.  Even the tripadelic backgrounds to the battles, and the enemies themselves, were awesome!

I actually made a MIDI file of the Kraken battle.
you can find it on

The SNES had a lot of interesting games

Anyone ever enjoy the Mario Kart series?  I always found the original SNES one the most fun.  The N64 one is alright if you can get a few people together for battle mode, or versus.  The Gamecube one, I thought, was fairly weak, as a Mario Kart game.

I can't recall playing any mario kart games lol I may have and just don't remember but the last one I remember playing is mario kart double dash. What a game that is  :P:. Not addicted to it or anything but it is pretty fun  B)

Post by: action9000 on February 02, 2006, 10:36:53 PM
Double Dash for the Gamecube was an...interesting twist on the series, being able to have two characters in one kart, but I actually preferred the classic style, one kart, one driver, every man for himself.  It wasn't a bad game, but I thought it was relatively overrated for a Mario Kart game.  I hope the next one (assuming they're making one for the Revolution system) will be an improvement on Double Dash.    Then again, this is hardly a fair review, since I only played the game for about 2 hours total.  I don't own it.

I do own the other two, however  :DD

The N64 one was alright - a nice change from the original, but the game seemed to run Very poorly with multiple players, especially in the Grand Prix mode.  Then again, most N64 games had this problem - the system wasn't powerful enough for its games.  And the final course in MK 64; Rainbow Road?  *sigh* what a boring course.  You can't really fall off or do anything tooo stupid, it's painfully long, and it's all the same.

The SNES one was beautiful Mario Kart game:
Nice variety of tracks for its time - good music - the last cup has some Very hard courses in it.  Unlike the N64, the final track of the SNES version was very difficult.  I'll just leave it at that.

oohh yea, I DO remember an older mario kart. I knew it was in my brain some where  lol

Yea I remember the mario kart for n64, had such fun with that one. But you really don't like the raindow road track? That had to be my favorite one since it was just so strange and nothing but winding roads of rainbows. Can't really remember the music but I know that was one of my favorite aspects about it :P:

I will give it that - the N64 Rainbow Road had nice music  :yes
I just didn't like the fact that it was all the same, and sooo much of "all the same".  It was a very classy looking track, I just wish it was harder, for the final track in the game.

The SNES' Rainbow Road.  Now That was fun :P:

Mario Kart for the SNES was awesome. It didnt look too bad considering it was 2D. The view point is pretty much exactly the same as for the N64 version...just sitting behind the racer. Great fun but I personally prefered the N64 version.

As for the castle stage...wasn't it Bowser's Castle? Found that stage annoying with all the lava pits and Thwomps pouncing on you from above! LOL :lol My favourite stages were normally the Yoshi tracks. I hated Rainbow Road coz I could never stay on the track! Kept falling off! PMSL :DD But it nice to see some consistancy in the tracks over the different MK releases...there's always a Rainbow Road in there somewhere and a Bowser's castle.

I loved MK for it's multiplayer but I couldn't really enjoy it much on my own. It's great on the N64 having a bunch of friends over screaming at a TV screen at each other's antics! PMSL!  :lol

If you have ever heard of Twisted Metal for the PSX / PS2, it's the same basic idea, but it's a Massively Online Multiplayer game (pay to buy, free to play online) by the creators of Guild Wars.

It's also a broader game than the Twisted Metal series, with profiles, upgrades, etc etc.  I don't know the details, but I can't wait.  April!  :DD

Also, I can't wait for the release of the nintendo system, "Revolution"  Nintendo has always had some of the best multiplayer games, in my opinion, and I want to see the new Smash Bros game that's supposedly announced.

Ditto there guys! I've checked out some wickid Kingdom Heart 2 videos on ign.com and another one I got from a friend today. I've seen the opening video (it's called "Passion") and some gameplay footage! Awesome stuff...looks like we can expect alot from this next instalment!  ;) As for release dates, the USA can look forward to KH2 around mid-March so my sources tell me whereas Europe has to hang on an extra month (late April time).

The thing that surprised me most about KH2 is the amount of detail they've gone into. THe battles looks better than ever and they've got a lot of the original cast from the original Disney movies and cartoons! Even stars like, Johnny Depp, Kiera Knightley and Geoffery Rush play in one of the newer worlds! Can ya guess which one?!

If you're looking for videos check out these links I've found:

IGN Kingdom Hearts 2 Videos (http://media.ps2.ign.com/media/550/550308/vids_1.html)

YouTube Kingdom Hearts 2 Videos (http://www.youtube.com/w/Kingdom-Hearts%3APV?v=k1RYV6Ukimg&search=Kingdom%20Hearts%202)

A word of warning though...from what I've heard, there is a video lurking about that gives away the ending so if you don't wanna ruin the surprise for yourself then just be vigilant about some of the ones you watch!

Hope that entices some greater interests!  ;) I can't wait for KH2. I'm so looking forward to it, I've recently got the GBA KH Chain of Memories. It's the plot bridge between KH 1 and 2 apparently. Anyone played/own it? :^.^:

Hey, action9000, a little something I think I should tell you about the GC version of Mario Kart.

Now, Rainbow Road is STILL the last one, however, it is a tough course to beat.  On top of long, it has TIGHT turns that you HAVE to slow down on just to make. (Even R turning doesn't help much.) Add on multiple boosters and a part FILLED with them that requires great control just to get past, and you've got one of THE funnest courses around. :)

Also, as a little bonus, if you get gold at all 4 courses, (Mushroom, Flower, Star & Special.) and on any desired level, (50cc, 100cc, 150cc, Mirror) you get a new cup course called All Tour Cup.

What All Tour Cup is, is basically all 16 courses.  Over an hour of courses from all the cups to get the ultimate secret prize.  Luigi Cuircut is still the first and Rainbow Road is still the last, but the rest are all random. (So if you are good at some and bad at others, luck is sometimes a BIG part of winning it.) And let's just say that you definately earn the prize at hand if you beat it. (Toad & Toadette, Boo & Petty Piharna, The Golden Car)

So if you plan on getting it now, let's just say there's plenty of fun to look forward to. :)

Halo has always stuck with me. Ever since I first played it and heard of it two and a half years ago.  I finally got the game on December 10th, 2005.  I've always loved this game.  It's an instant classic.

Does anyone own a PSP?! I recently got one (and I love it  :DD ) but I'm a little in the dark about the games out for it. I'm not a sports gamer, and I'm not terribly fond of GTA (gets too repetitive and boring for me after a while). I've already got Tales of Eternia and Metal Gear Acid (both wickid) but I'm looking for something else...any recommendations?

I also like many of the other Scifi First Person Shooters out there.  Of course, Halo would be at the top of my list.  Then Timesplitters Future Perfect, Then Doom 3, and then the original Doom from 1993.  I'm obseesed over those types of games.

If we're talking shooters, my favorites have been

Doom 64.  Scariest Doom game ever, I'd say.  I didn't like Doom 3 so much.  The PDA and the code numbers system was very annoying.  It felt more like Half-life than Doom, and I wasn't  a fan of half-life.

The Unreal Tournament series.  I never played UT 2003, but between UT classic (1999) and UT 2004, they have their ups and downs, compared to each other.  I still enjoy them both very much.

If I owned Quake 3, I'd say it was a fairly amusing game as well, but I haven't played it for so long, I can't remember for sure.  my computer can't run Quake 4.

Halo seems like it would be more fun as a multiplayer game.  I couldn't really get into the game as a single-player experience.  A coop game on the PC version may be pretty good, but on the X-Box, I find the game difficult to play.  If I can't get a keyboard and mouse for my shooter games, I'm not happy  :p

I don't mind Battlefield 2, though it may be a little over-rated.

All three games in the Serious Sam PC series are very amusing as multiplayer games, though they get a bit repetitive as single-player games.  Great time for a co-op team of friends though.

FPS's eh? Not my favourite genre but definitely one of my top 5's. My all-time favourite FPS definitely has to be Perfect Dark for the N64. Fun, mad and great storyline. OK so graphically it wasn't cutting edge but the gameplay was so solid it was almost indestrucible! :DD I've played PD-0 but I didnt enjoy it as much as the original...it was too slow and I felt something within the next instalment was lost coz it didnt appeal to me as much. Shame really coz I was expecting a bit more from Rare than that :(

Timesplitters I love especially Future Perfect! Some of the stuff in that game is just so unbelievably random it's funny. :lol Half-life is another great FPS and arguably the best (especially HL-2). The graphical quality and mechanics of that game are simply astounding :DD (Im talking about on PC not Xbox)

Now this is where I probably tread on a few people's toes...coz I really dislike Halo with a passion! I'm not gonna slag it off or anything (that's uncalled for) but I just don't like it...single or multiplayer. Doom I found a bit too brain-numbing to be enjoyable  <_<. Just a giant of a man running around with a big sod-off gun...nah, sorry. I need a bit more than that. I'll agree the fear factor element is good but that's about all I found interesting about it. Alien Vs. Predator I thought did it much better despite it's age and slightly dated graphics.

Didn't like Quake but I'll let Unreal Tourni slide coz I did get into that a one point.

Haha yeah!  I remember playing that game for hours on end, both single and mutiplayer.  At the time, it was awesome.

In the case of both Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, they would have all sort of lasting power, if it wasn't for the technical aspects of the games.  They both have fairly low frame rates (especially Perfect Dark), and multiplayer games seriously suffer because of this fact.  Try playing a PC shooter at 2 - 5 Frames per second and see how much fun that is.

That was the major downfall of the N64 - the system couldn't handle the games.  Lots of awesome games got destroyed by the lack of playability brought on by the low framerate.  Goldeneye, for the most part, was alright, framerate-wise, but the odd single-player, and many multiplayer situations caused enough choppiness that it degraded the playability of the game.  Perfect dark was even worse for this.

At least for me, the framerate took away much of the multiplayer, and even single player fun of Perfect Dark.  I always played Perfect Dark on low-res (even though I have the expansion pak to go high-res) because the framerate was slightly better.

Aside from the framerate, both games were absolutely awesome, and I would have played them more.  :DD  The framerates, espcially Perfect Dark's, finished me on the game, I must admit.

When I play PC games, I keep the detail down to maximize the frame rate of the game.  Nothing messes my game up more than a low framerate.

Heh!  Me, my little brother and my two cousins used to play that game all the time.

We always came up with fun weapons to use. (Proximity Mines, Automatics, Grenade Launchers, etc.)

Of course, we had a few rules.

No Bond, Paintball Mode, 20 minutes.

We even had Slappers only.  My youngest cousin was a master slapper and, quite often, used Oddjob. (You know, the one that's smallest.) We even tried forbidding him from using Oddjob because he was too good with him.  He STILL beat us.

We even went for Pistols and Golden Gun.

Not to mention Flag mode.  That was always fun. :)

Ah, good times!  I miss them though. :(

Haha, great times!  We used to love Remote Mines in the Basement.  Hiding mines on pillars and KABOOM (the ol' A+B trick for detonating mines was beautiful!)

Oh yes, I almost forgot - we often played "licence to kill", which is basically One-hit kills.  This was brutal with Automatics, or explosives  :lol .

Nah mate...it has to be a 10-20min match, License to Kill, Pistols on the Archive level (or Stack). The sheer fear of knowing that the first hit is always fatal brings forth the most randomest and epic of gun battles! LOL.  :lol That with four players is madness re-defined! On one beautiful moment, me and 3 other friends all met up in the same room and we all fired at exactly the same time (but on different targets) and we all died at exactly the same time...I never deemed it possible!  :DD

Proxys are always fun...blowing up unsuspecting victims but also that looming dread of... "Oh gawd! I've laid down too many mines and I can't remember where they are!  :( ) :lol Or "Is that a bullet hole or a mine?!"

Ahhh the good ol' days! Think I need to go and play that again! Pull out the N64 for a retro trip!  Gotta luv it! :^.^:

"Is that a bullet hole or a mine?!"

Aha, I always had that problem

An interesting thing we started doing (in the facility level) was having one of us put our handicap up as high as possible, and the rest of us have it low as possible. We would then pretend that the one with the high handicap was sort of the "boss" and he could only stay up near the bathrooms :P:

Another thing I liked to do was put proximity mines on the spawn points :lol I didn't do it very much though as it wasn't really fair

And another fun thing we used to do was put it on only lazers, license to kill, and go into the Library level (Or whatever the level is called that's the library but with no basement) We would then have one of us stand up on the 2nd floor of some room and randomly fire all over the first floor, while the other one tries to run through the room  It wasn't always fair though as you could purposely aim right for him, but it was fun :D

God we would always play in Facilty. That was the "default" level :DD

I've heard a few suscipious rumours about having to pay subscription fees for the new version of Windows... dunno how solid that info is but it sorta sounds believable to prevent people from ripping copies of it. A new security protocol or something to that effect. Sounds like another Windows M.E. to me and we all know how successful that was PMSL  :lol

Like I said, I'm not entirely sure how solid that info was but if it is true then I'm probably gonna be sticking to XP. It's not perfect but it does make a few tasks a lot easier. From what I was told, you pay an annual subscription (whether you can break it down into weekly/monthly/quarterly payments I dunno) but basically you have to pay a certain amount each and every year.

Maybe there's an article or news flash about it somewhere online...not that I'm particularly bothered though. Mircosoft is a money-guzzling monster of a monopoly and I rarely trust MS products to work well anyway... :p

The best part is that you can play the missions cooperative with up to 8 (or 16?  i can't remember.  I never played more than 4) live people.  You can increase the difficulty of the monsters and the game for more players, so it gets very interesting.

I've played every megaman game up to Megaman X4 for the PS2, including megaman 1-6 for the NES, Megaman 7, X, X2, X3, and Megaman Soccer for the SNES, and Megaman Legends for the PS1.

I couldn't get enough of them when I was younger.  I think I lacked the skill to beat them when I played them originally, but I haven't played them for so long now, I probably still can't beat them. :lol

Remember back to the first Megaman, when it had the score at the top of the screen?  That didn't last very long :p

I still have to say, Megaman 2, 3 and 7 are my favorites to this day.  The music was awesome (Crashman's stage (MM2) = Good music hehe), the games were simple (no hunting for 10 billion items).  I liked Megaman X, however the length of your lifebar for the first bit of the game wasn't very friendly :p

If you've got a Walmart in your home town I'm sure you'll find one there.  Maybe even Circut City.  Just remember, you'll have to pay $30.00 for each one. :p

As of now, along with Mega Man and Mega Man X Collections, I have Mega Man X: Command Mission for GC (A very nice RPG game.) and Mega Man: Battle Network 2 for GBA.

Just so you know Action, in Mega Man Collection, along with 1-8 it also includes two unlockable arcade games that appeared only in Japan.

And in Mega Man X Collection, you get 1-6 plus an unlockable Mega Man racing game. (Featuring all the charcters from the original Mega Man series.)

Oh, and if you need help in those games, I can give you some strategies that I used to beat them. (Just be warned, with the X series, you HAVE to be fast.)

I must admit one thing though, X series is harder than the original.  Yet, I enjoy the X series so much more. :)

I like games where it lets you choose which view you want to use.  I prefer 3rd person but have gotten used to playing Star Wars Battlefrone I and II using 1st person.  My favorite type of game is a combat flight simulator like Ace Combat 5.  I haven't gotten a chance to play the new Ace Combat Zero yet.

I'd have to say Turok: Evolution for Gamecube because of the violence and the weapons. I love that rocket launcher.

I've got Turok: Evolution for X-Box and PC.  Single player is alright; it's quite different from the previous Turok games.  I've been a fan of the game series since the beginning (Turok: Dinosaur Hunter For PC / N64).  I have almost finished playing through the PC version of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter without using the map at all (seeing how hard that is :p.  That, and the game seems kinda glitchy on Windows XP with the newer video cards.  The map doesn't work!).

Turok Evolution for X-Box is a wicked multiplayer game.   :lol
There is no multiplayer in the PC version, sadly.

I think I preferred the guns in Turok 2 (Seeds of Evil) which I also have for PC, to all the other Turok games.  About 25 weapons, almost all of which are a great time ;)  That's another interesting multiplayer game.  Turok 2 over Internet with up to 16 players.  Good time :p Older game, but good time :p

I hate X-Box. :p

I never had the chance to play any of the previous Turok games, and I think it's too late anyway. I haven't seen any of the other Turok games lying around recently.

Man, I am pissed! :mad  :mad I was playing runescape and some jerk came up and demanded that I give him all my stuff or he was going to file a bunch of false reports and get me banned! :mad  :mad Well, I told him to buzz off so he apparently filed those reports, acusing me of impersonating a staff member, swearing (actually, I did tell him to go to hell), scamming, and I forget all the other crap he accused kme of.  But it was all BS! Well, the stupid idiots actually believed him and now I am banned! :cry  :cry You know, if a bunch of people filed reports on me, then I can see why but if just one single person accused me of doing all those outragous deeds, then red flags should pop up.  Someopne is trying to frame me! :bang  :bang  :cry   I'm going to creat a new account and hunt that loser down and kick his butt!  I'll file a bunch of fake reports on him.  I believe i'll be doing a service to my fellow players by doing so because what is to stop thise a@#$%&le from doing it again?  I'm sure he has done it before.  I have his screen name so I can file some reports on him.  Actually, they might actually be true about him.. I'm sure he does scam people!  I'm just so pissed off that I went through all that herd work to get my levels up and when I can finally mine gold, I never get the chance to do it because of this m*****f*****!! :mad  :mad    :bang  I seem to have a nack for meeting jerks and losers! :cry  :mad I'll see to it that this donkyhole gets banned so he never pulls this crap again! :mad

OMG.  :o   Thank god I never submit to stuff like that.  I encounter morons on Halo, but thank god I have the power to ban them when I'm hosting a server.  As the saying goes, "The internet is Fueled by rage."  Speaking of rage, If you think that one player is unfair, you should see this kid.  Thank god I don't own an Xbox.

Scary! That I'm afraid is the kind of people that might also pick up a real gun after playing such a game and forget about the differences between real live and a computer game.
That's really a nasty thing that was done to you F-14!
It is very long ago that I last played runscape, but I remember well how long it took me to even get as far as to forging steel. If several people team up to falsly accuse one person of things that person never did the admins of the game are compelled to ban that person even though you never did anything at all. Was that waylayer somebody in an administrative position himself?

Yes!  Yahoo!  Apparently, someone up there must like me!. :D One of the staff members looked into those false reports and deemed them false and reactivated my account! :D  :D  :wow It was their mainframe that banned me.  The computer automaticlt baned me but when someone is accused of the real serious stuff, the staff has to look into it.  Now, he jerk is banned!  Justice prevails once again! :DD I only wish I could have kicked that loser's butt first! :cry2

Well, good for you, F-14.  Now, back to games! :)

Yesterday I bought the newest Sonic game, Sonic Riders!  And I just have to say this... WOW!  WHAT A GAME!! :wow

I have only played it for a few hours and can't get enough of this amazing racing game. :^.^: (In fact, I'm tempted to kick my little brother out of his room just to play it :DD)

Choosing to go with Air Boards (Think of them as skateboards without wheels.) for a racing game was a good move IMO.

The story goes that some new rivals in town have Air Boards that can go faster than Sonic.  As a result, Eggman has set up a no-holds bar racing competition.  To enter, each participant needs one Chaos Emerald.  There's only two rules for this race.  One, you use Air Boards to race and two, first participant to cross the finish line wins.  Everything else goes. :)

Now, the Air Boards are your velchile in this game of racing.  The thing is though, the Air Boards have a limited fuel as it were.  So, how do you get more fuel to continue racing.  The number one way is performing tricks.

I must admit, performing all those tricks is rather cool.  The bigger the trick, the more fuel you get, and the more speed you get as well. ;)

Performing tricks isn't too difficult.  All you need is a little air, and fast fingers. (A Button + Control Stick.)

There is a method called riding the Turbulance.  You can actually ride the exaust of the Air Boards of those in front of you, but only if they're going fast enough.  By riding the Turbulance, you go so much faster, and it ends up being a great oppurtunity to pull off some tricks.  Even one's you're not attempting to do. :^.^:

Now, what do I exactly mean by no-holds bar?  Well, each charcter has their own weapon with them.

Sonic uses his classic spinning attack.

Tails has a Spiked Ball and Chain that he swings around.

Knuckles uses his fists.

Amy (Yep, she's in it too.) has her trusty Piko Piko Hammer.

The other three I'm not sure of, but I know these four. :)

There's only one catch... ;) You need 30 rings to use them.  And of course, just like any Sonic game, getting hit makes you lose rings.

However, don't worry if you don't have 30 rings, you can still hurt them, you just won't use the special weapon the charcter holds.

All of it just sounds so much fun, and I have to agree. :)

Sega has outdone themselves with this game. :p

Knowing how much you enjoyed the different Mario Kart games over the years, I have no doubt you would enjoy it. ;)

I played the game with my little brother yesterday and he smoked me! :o

The bigger shock is that I have gotten further in the game than he has.

He's just a natural at the game, and I'm happy for that. :) (Though he could stop bragging about it.)

Now, here's one to add to the list of weapons used by charcters.

Jet the Hawk: (Note: He is one of the three new rivals in town.  He's actually the best out of them.) He basically uses his beak to peck his enemies.

Well, I hope to give more info on this later.

See ya. ;)

Some of the special fx in this game include visible shockwaves when you pass the speed of sound.  It appears as a white cloud around the airplane.  Also, the explosions are awesome and sounds.  The music is cool too.  Ace Combat 5 is still better because its fx were just as good and the storyline and music were better.  Plus, it had a hot Japanese chick in it who was a fighter pilot! :P:

I didn't say Ace Combat Zero was bad.  I just said it wasn't as good as Ace COmbat 5, which in my opinion would be very hard to top.  I'd give Zero a 7 and AC5 a 10.  But I never said the game sucked or anything.

LOL...I've seen that! I get verbal sometimes but never physical! That was funny. Can't say I'm a fan of Halo but I do like FPS games. Perfect Dark as to be my favourite one ever. Not Zero...I mean the first PD for N64. Resident Evil 4 is still my current top game...still waiting for Kingdom Heart 2 to be released over here. It was due to come out this coming Friday but it's been delayed AGAIN! <_< Been held back until August now...for what reason I dunno but they're not letting us have it anytime soon. :(

I actually tend to get a bit physical when I get like really aggrivated (Since I never have anything to shout at the screen ), but never any way like that! The worst I've probably done was just bang the wall :lol Never got anywhere near crazy enough to start whacking the tv screen :slap

I don't think it's so much the fact that you shouldn't be playing videogames though, more just knowing when to stop.

Meh...different people have different length fuses for their temper. Some can take more defeats than others. Some just HAVE to win otherwise it's cheating (I used to know someone like that...he never liked playing certain games with me when we were in college coz I was better than him). I've only ever truly flipped out once and that was playing Street Fighter Alpha 3 for PSX (Playstation 1). Trying to beat M. Bison with Sakura...took me well over 1/2 hr and almost 20 consecutive lost battles. Got a bit hot under the proverbial collar  I laugh at it now but everyone has a limit but some people are just that ickle bit more reactive than others...as that video of the angry Halo player suggests  :lol

Aahh, hehe. Yea I've gotten pretty aggrivated with Halo online when it seemed like no matter what I did I just couldn't kill anyone.

Not that I was bad, just always those dang experts :lol. Man I'd love to go back to that game. Too late now though, since my graphics card is fried :(

Oh yea, god do I hate them people. No matter what game you play there are always them "types" around.

Another thing I really hate is when people call you a n00b because you killed them an unfair way or something  Besides camping (since I know how unfair that can be) there really isn't any "fair" way to wallop someone. It's not my fault they happen to be out in the wilderness while I'm in a Banchee

I like Halo online.  But unlike you I have to wait a half a year to play Halo 2.  The A-holes at Microsoft dealyed the Vista launch to 2007.  Same with Halo 2.  If they keep it up with these delays somebody will sue them.

So true in any game.  I must say though, I believe camping is a valid tactic unless all players agree Before the game that it not be used.  Yes, it is annoying, but you can't tell me it doesn't work in some situations.  Besides, where does one draw the line between playing defensively or tactically, and Camping?  It's a hard call sometimes, especially in team games where roles are to be assigned.  I don't hold it against players too much for camping, especially in team games.

What I am against however, is exploiting game bugs (such as walking through a wall somewhere, jumping really high, etc. etc) to win.  Even if all players do it, this is Not an acceptable part of the game for online or group play.  Play the game as it was meant, and don't go out of your way to break the game. :P:

I suppose your right Action9000. Since I have camped before  (One time was when someone was driving me around their base with a warthog. I swear I killed like 20 people before they killed me some way (I think with a rocket).

Another time I was actually standing right in front of their base with a Pistol! I can't remember how long I stayed there but I know I killed at least 10-15 people. You'd be surprised what headshots can do :lol

I only camp at a last resort if I'm really doing badly but, I dunno about you guys, playing multiplayer FPS games. If we discover someone camping, we tend to gang up on the camper and double team him. LOL It sounds harsh but we don't normally play "camping" but it's sort of a unwritten conseqeunce. If you camp, prepare to be double teamed.   So pitch your tent at your own expense! :DD

Red Read Redemption2.  Fantastic characters, a compelling story, an amazing game world, tons of content, collectibles, and side quests, and the best video game protagonist of all time.  Arthur Morgan's tale of redemption is probably one of the best stories told through a video game.  Also, drinking with Lenny...  Nuff said.
