It says you can't go forward, but you also can't go backwards. Based on logic, the two forces opposing each other should cancel out, and therefore it should be okay to proceed forward or backwards, right? ::)

Hmm...the consequences shouldn't be too severe for such a small offense like defying the traffic signs, right? Unless there are hidden snipers hiding behind the trees, ready to shoot anyone that tries to go beyond the intersection, you should be fine. :)
