Sometimes, sequels just suck and should have been scrapped for something more worthy of the original sometimes.
For starts, any Terminator film after Terminator 2: Judgment Day. They've all just been a series of disappointments, each one worst the last.
-
As much as I like Pixar’s Toy Story 4, I feel like that movie was very unnecessary and that the franchise should’ve ended at Toy Story 3.
-
The Star Wars sequel trilogy. At least not in the way Disney made them.

I'd count the prequels, too. I think any Star Wars movies made after 1983 at this point are a mistake.
-
The Jeepers Creepers sequels.
-
I think a Sing 2 movie was sort of pointless the minute it was announced.
-
Edit: Ooops. Wrong thread

I actually really love the prequels so for me anything after 2005 or at the very least pre-October 2012 wasn't necessary.

The Jurassic World films. Again at least not the way they were made.

i would say all the Disney DTV sequels, with the exception of Aladdin and the 40 thieves, should not have been made. little Mermaid 2, or Pocahontas 2, just to name 2 were not needed.
-
Maybe it's because I'm a sucker for terrible films, but I wouldn't want anything ever made to be deleted. Even terrible films can be fun to watch, and phoned-in vendor-trash sequels are gold mines for unintentionally-hilarious awfulness. Just imagine how much poorer the world would be if we didn't have Secret of NIMH II: Timmy to the Rescue to gawk at in horror

Although I enjoy the LBT sequels I will admit they were not necessary.
-
Don’t get me wrong, I like all of Bambi, but a 2006 direct-to-video sequel (64 years after the original) was not needed since I never asked for a continuation to Bambi. I thought story ended fine at just the original.

That film is actually technically a midquel that takes place right after Bambi's mom was killed.

Sorry to be off-topic, but is that "LBT Discussion 2021" badge in your signature official? If so, where in the forum are they being given out?

Danke! Completely missed that award category, had no idea that was a thing. Thought the award might have been somehow related to the monthly character showcases since the icon was of Ichy and 2021's theme was "supporting characters."

At least the Star Wars sequels were bad in a "so bad they're good" kind of way. As sloppy as the writing was, at least the acting was (for the most part) decent and I actually got invested in the characters. The prequels were just straight up bad, with their horrible dialogue, wooden acting, racist stereotypes, and underdeveloped characters.

Terminator Genysis. When you make the savior of humankind, John Connor, who the previous films were about protecting a terminator.. you’ve gone astray.
-
Terminator... I would say: everything after Terminator 2. :[

I am part of the minority who liked Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
I am quickly becoming convinced the Jurassic franchise should have ended at Jurassic Park III.

Everything after "Terminator 2" and everything after "Aliens" is noncanon to me.
