Over a decade later, The Land Before Time is returning to AMC Theatres as part of its Summer Movie Camp.

Why would Universal re-release a DVD of episodes despite knowing that people can watch them all for free on Youtube. Isn't that a risky business strategy to make something easily available for free and then ask people to buy the already existing episodes on Youtube for money?

The only major reason I can think off the top of my head is that there would be no YouTube ads.
Also, we're lucky that we even got a DVD release in the first place.

The back cover on Amazon has been updated to correct a typo. It now notes "Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1" :celebrate

Great news, guys! Looks like the complete tv series is finally coming to DVD!
Only issue is that it looks like episodes are still fullscreen when widescreen episodes are already available online.

What are your thoughts on the latest Pixar movie?

Here are some highlights from this interesting little review here" https://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/8775/land-before-time-anniversary-edition-the/
"The movie is well suited for an audience of 4- to 5-year-olds."
"What it doesn't have, however, is anything that makes it worthwhile for an adult to watch."
"The story is not just simple, but simplistic, and the emotional content is broadly but shallowly drawn."
"Another reason why The Land Before Time doesn't weather adult viewing well is that it's sappy. Extremely sappy. In fact, if it were any sappier, it would have to carry a warning label for diabetics."
So all the trauma and death shown throughout is suited only for babies, huh?

After watching the original movie last night, I was wondering if there are any fanfics that ignore the future sequel events and characters. The ending mentioned about how "they grew up together in the valley with generation upon generation, each passing on to the next: The tale of their ancestors' journey to the valley long ago. " So I was wondering if maybe there are any legacy sequels that show what happens to them when they get older and what their future generations ended up (without any characters from the sequels).

@LittleDas75

You can watch the sequels free with ads on Amazon Prime Video in HD. They are a probable reference to what the potential Blu-ray may look like.

First of all, I don't have the materials available to do more cels, but I like sketching from time to time.

Back in my freshman year of high school, I took Intro Art class, and our final project was to create a cel painting by using acrylic paint. Me being a huge LBT Fan at that time, I decided to do one based on the last scene of the first movie. We had to trace the original reference onto a plastic sheet and then use acrylic paint to fill in the traced lines. Then, the background had to be painted with watercolor on paper. It's not perfect but it was the best I could do at the time with whatever art supplies that were available. It's been a few years since I've done this project, and I think it's one of my greatest achievements that still holds up to this very day.

Here is the cel with the background

@OwlsCantRead

That's very interesting. I loved reading Land Before Time Retold, and it's one of my all time favorite fanfics. I'll keep those points in mind as I attempt this concept with Balto.

I was searching through Land Before Before on fanfiction.net and decided to play around with the search filter. Turns out that the Land Before Time Retold series has the most favorites and followers. Anyone know why that's the case?

Oh yes they should. Universal's MOD blu-ray line has helped them release some less popular movies, including direct-to-dvd sequels. If they can release obscure sequels like Dragonheart: A New Beginning, then they can surely release the sequels on blu-ray, especially when they already have HD transfers ready that they can just put onto a disc. The only downside is that they would probably release them individually and you would have to pay for each sequel blu ray release.
