Well the impossible seemed to be made possible. For so many years, we've been wanting a cat, but our parents wouldn't let us because they hate cats. Well time has a way of changing things, and they allowed us to finally get a cat.

We adopted a black and white cat named Sinatra. He's declawed (my mom said this was a requirement), a domestic longhair, has gold eyes, and is very sweet. He's a young boy too, only about 2 years old. At some point I'll post up a picture of what he looks like.

Congratulations. I'm sure a cat will make a great family member... At least now you'll always have someone to hug. :D

AWW...how nice.  I saw his picture (i think) on another post.  He's so cute.  We did have three cats, but they all died, so we got a stray dog instead.

Awesome :) Is Sinatra the cat you told me about? Are Sinatra and Cheyenne getting along?

Congratulations on getting a new pet.  I hope he gets along well with everyone and everyone enjoys him.  Good luck.

I posted up a new picture of Sinatra in the Show Us Your Critters thread.

So far things seem to be fine, although it's only a day since we got the cat. Cheyenne and Sinatra have had small interactions and seemed to be fine. Today they got close enough to sniff each other and touch noses, and they laid down close to each other for a while, but when Cheyenne got too close Sinatra hissed and lightly swatted at him.

They're not completely used to each other yet. For now, we'll continue letting them get to know each other, but not force them to do anything. We hope that, eventually, it'll be safe to leave the two alone. I don't think it'll be a problem though because they both have laid-back personalities (well Cheyenne's more out of old age).
