The Party Room / Re: The Gang's Grades for School
« on: June 01, 2010, 09:04:02 AM »
Cera would get the tackle part of Football very easily, and Spike would most likely make a good goalie for Soccer or something like that.

Chomper would do well in a foods class, as long as no vegetables are required.

This is quite interesting indeed.

If I had to give overall grades I would go like this:

Littlefoot: "A-"  - Obviously, he seems like the type of student that would put his best effort into everything. He might mess up on a couple things, but overall he would do well.

Cera: "B" - She seems like she would only concern herself with certain subjects and then come up with something like "Threehorns don't need this..." She would also get some demerits for arguing probably.

Petrie: "B-" - Petrie would definitely put the effort into everything, but English would definitely bring him down. He would get points for being curious I guess.

Spike: "D+" - The only reason why I give him a low grade is because he would be caught daydreaming about lunch that he wouldn't concentrate on anything else. Also, I'm not sure how he would do in P.E. :D

Ducky: "A-" She might get some points off for constant repetition in English, but other than that she would be like Littlefoot.

Gamers Zone / Pokemon X & Y

The more I hear about these games, the more excited I get for them. I've had X preordered for a while, and my buddy is getting Y. It's going to be awesome reliving the days when we played Blue and Red together.

Silver Screen / My top 5 films of the Summer
« on: August 27, 2013, 08:27:22 PM »
There's a lot of movies that I have not seen and really want to, so from what I have seen here's my list:

5. Kick Ass 2

I was very excited for this film. The first is incredible and easily in my top favorite films of all time. So when I saw the trailers for this I could not wait to see it in theaters. When I finally did see it, I left relatively satisfied. There were definitely some flaws with it, and it doesn't anywhere near live up to the standards of the first. Having said that, it's still very entertaining. I didn't regret seeing it and still recommend it to others.

4. Iron Man 3

A lot of people will probably disagree with me on this, but I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It's leaps and bounds better than than the second (which I also enjoy very much), and in my opinion it succeeds in taking Tony Stark and knocking him down a few pegs. This film was meant to show us whether or not Iron Man was the hero or Tony Stark. I think it was clever that he was not in the suit for the majority of the movie because he had to rely on his natural human instincts alone. As for the handling of the villain, I never read the comics, so I probably really can't comment on it. However, I didn't mind so much how it was handled, and it provided some extra humor to the film. I say if you liked either of the first two, give this one a chance.

3. The Wolverine

First off, WAY better than X-men Origins, even though I enjoyed that film as well. I knew the moment I saw the trailers that I was going to like this film, and I was not disappointed. Everything about it worked very well, and you could tell that this was meant to be a more adult film. I especially liked how they weaved Jean Grey throughout the film as opposed to only having only one quick flashback. Also, ending credits scene = mind blown! If you still have the chance to view this in theaters, do so! You won't regret it.

2. World War Z

I never read the book, but I had heard a lot of great things about it. So I was very intrigued to see this film. There really haven't been a lot of high blockbuster zombie films, but this worked very well. I was a little worried at first because zombies and PG-13 probably don't sound like a good combination, but it still worked. Brad Pitt was great in the role, and the CGI zombies didn't bother me at all. In fact, they were really only used in the few scenes shown in the trailers. Definitely one of my favorite zombie films and absolutely worth every penny.

1. Now You See Me

Honestly, I was not looking forward to this film. Call me crazy, but when I saw the trailers it just didn't look that good. Don't get me wrong, I loved the cast it was advertising, but something about it just didn't seem to mesh with me. When my friend asked if I wanted to go see it, I caved in and figured I would give it a shot. After seeing it, I can say without a doubt it is easily in my top five favorite films of the year so far. I could not believe how much I loved this film. Everything about it was amazing. Having said that, in order for one to enjoy it like I did, they really need to suspend disbelief, because there are quite a few things that may not seem plausible. At the same time, magic is a mysterious thing , so why does it need to make sense? Overall, I will be getting this on Blu-ray day 1.

General Land Before Time / Ever had any LBT dreams at night.
« on: August 27, 2013, 08:01:46 PM »
The other day, I had a random one where the gang was just sitting around, talking about stuff. Nothing terribly exciting happened, they were just talking. It was kind of cool to see them so leisurely about.

Who is Sierra?
He's one of the flyer villains in LBT VII. You can probably find videos of him on YouTube, or some resident Sierra fans can explain more about him.

Land Before Time TV Series (2007) / Favorite and least favorite episode
« on: August 21, 2013, 09:41:31 AM »
I've now come up with my least favorite episode:

The Amazing Threehorn Girl: I hated the plot for this episode. This has been so overdone in kids films that it makes me sick. It's one of the most cliche plots in all of writing and can generally be a sign of just laziness. Now granted, the tv series had a few episodes with bad plots, but this one takes the cake for me. On top of that, Cera didn't even want to the credit. She tried to tell them the truth, but Petrie and Chomper kept interrupting her. She only goes with it because she gives up trying.

Oh, and do we need to bring up the subject of bad adult singing again?

Land Before Time TV Series (2007) / Who would you like to meet
« on: August 21, 2013, 09:22:45 AM »
Honestly, I'd like to meet all of them. For the sake of the poll, I chose Littlefoot, because he was the one I connected with the most.

Land Before Time TV Series (2007) / Ruby and the Gang
« on: August 21, 2013, 09:20:12 AM »
I'm with Mumbling on this one. I grew up with the gang of five, so to see some one completely new be randomly added in for the sake of having this type of character seemed kind of odd. I was a little more annoyed with her speech pattern too. I don't know, it just got annoying very quickly.

Now where I will disagree with Mumbling is the subject of Chomper. I think he is fine being a member of the gang on the basis that we actually know who he is. Also, even though Chomper has only appeared in two movies, he's made quite an impact on fans. Critics of both movies, II and V, praised him as the best parts, and has appeared in other media outside the movies. It's quite clear that Chomper is one of, if not the most popular character of the franchise, so it makes sense to bring him back for the TV series.

The Fridge / Too Much Censorship?
« on: August 16, 2013, 02:08:47 PM »
There is such a thing as effective censorship, but then there is stuff that maybe doesn't need to be censored. In terms of Family Guy, I always found it weird how episodes on iTunes have parts cut out, but when they air on TV they have the added jokes in there.

General Land Before Time / great valley vs mysterious beyond
« on: August 15, 2013, 10:48:43 PM »
The Great Valley just seems like a wonderful place. Even with it's occasional problems that it has encountered, I would still love to live there. Plus, hanging out with the gang would be the best!

Random Role Play / In the land before time
« on: August 15, 2013, 03:29:57 PM »
After they had escorted the Big Water group out of the Valley, Threehorn had split off from Rob and Littlefoot to do his usual patrols. For the first time in a while, it actually seemed peaceful. Ever since the newcomers had arrived, everything seemed like chaos. Now, it was as if everything had finally settled down. "Good thing those egg eaters are out of here," he muttered to himself. "They would have brought nothing but trouble." Granted, he still had his doubts about Rob, because if he had learned anything growing up, it was never to trust a sharptooth. Even though he hadn't acted out towards him, Threehorn couldn't help but feel something in the back of his mind. Maybe it was his paranoia acting up, his sense of duty to protect those he loved. For the moment, he pushed those thoughts aside and enjoyed the quiet in the Valley.

So yeah, two years later and I actually have an update for this story. Who would have thought?

I actually had Chapter 8 up a while ago, but since I hadn't gotten around to being back here, I never had the chance to post a link.

Anyway, here's a link to Chapter 8 of this drawn out story.

Chapter 8

As such, I am still working on this story and am determined to finish it.
