All in all, it doesn't seem like those three value each other that much. I was sold on this when I watched Escape From The Mysterious Beyond, and Thud said something like, "Your friends aren't coming back, little biter." Sounds like it reflects his own experiences or beliefs regarding those in need. Maybe one of the unspoken mottos in the Mysterious Beyond is "every dinosaur for him/herself." Though I suppose it's possible he was saying it out of spite...But I think the only reason Red Claw, Screech, and Thud hang out is because they each have something to gain from it; not because they're friends, exactly.
But like I said, just speculation.

Land Before Time TV Series (2007) / Red Claw is awesome!

Not sure who I think the scariest sharptooth is...
...On second thought, I do. The sharptooth from VI. And not because of its actions, which weren't altogether impressive, but something about its' appearance always creeped me out. o__o He just seemed weird-looking compared to the others.
Red Claw looks different, too, but not in a "that creeps me out" kind of way. I'd say Red Claw at least has some nice distinctive features (obviously, the red eye, the scar) which do set him apart from the rest of the sharpteeth. XD Although you can tell that they did try to make some of the sharpteeth look different from each other, so as not to be so "cookie-cutter."

Tell you one thing, the carnivorous dinosaur I think is the scariest (I mean in general) is a spinosaurus. o.o

Episode Discussion / Discuss: The Legend of the Story Speakers
« on: April 03, 2015, 10:37:44 PM »
This is one of my favorite episodes, as I thought Saro was a nice surprise. :)

I think everything you said is right. It pretty much sums up why Saro took Grandpa Longneck's refusal so hard.
I can see him traveling to the Great Valley in search of Grandpa Longneck, all the while being 100% convinced that his old friend wouldn't refuse his offer. If he didn't anticipate a refusal, naturally that might cause him to overreact, or at least take it harder than he needed to. Seems like he had his mind set on Grandpa Longneck coming with him.

I also wonder how old Saro is supposed to be. Younger than Grandpa Longneck, obviously, but just how young I wonder. They were friends long ago, clearly, so Saro can't be that much younger. (Though for all I know maybe he is in the same age range as Grandpa Longneck. He just seemed a little younger, somehow.)

LBT Projects / Made a new music video
« on: April 03, 2015, 10:26:17 PM »
Hopefully I'm putting this in the right section of the forums. ^^
Anyway, I made a music video the other day, using clips from The Stone Of Cold Fire.
My original intention was to make the video about Petrie and his relationship with Pterano, but since there isn't enough interaction between the two to make a video (at least not with the song I used), I erred on making it a video about Pterano, and other events from the 7th movie. ^^

You've got some amazing skills! :) They look exactly identical to their movie selves, which isn't an easy thing to achieve, at least not for me. XD I love traditonal art so much. A lot of it is digitalized these days, which - while lots of fun to do - just doesn't have the same feel. :)

LBT Fanart / Rinkus as a hatchling
« on: April 03, 2015, 10:12:12 PM »
I don't know why I've been on a Rinkus obsession lately. Feels like every time I watch the LBT series, I get attached to a new character. XD
Anyway, I was watching The Stone of Cold Fire the other day and noticed something I never noticed as a kid: Rinkus holds his tail a lot. I got to wondering why, and figured that maybe he used to hold his moms' tail as a baby, and that he derives subconscious comfort out of holding his own tail. Memories from being a baby, and all. So I made a pic depicting it.

Then I did another one with Rinkus and possible childhood siblings.
I figure him to be the type who didn't get as much attention, not being overtly aggressive (more like passive aggressive, at least as an adult.)

Sorry if they're too big! I don't know how to re-size them... D:

Omg, this is way different...I am so in love with it! And yeah, I totally see the logic of making the sharptooth a cyborg, lol. *thumbs up*  :lol

Episode Discussion / Discuss: Escape from the Mysterious Beyond
« on: April 03, 2015, 01:17:35 PM »
Kinda brings up a whole new thread possibility: "What do the Gang's parents think of all their adventures?" XD
But back to the episode - I liked this one too, because let's face it, most of the time we have no idea what these sharpteeth are saying. XD We have a pretty good idea, of course, but I've always been a big fan of subtitles, haha. I've always considered that the sharpteeth in the movies and series were talking (er, when they're not roaring in anger. It's all the same to them, maybe...), but in this episode it was great to know exactly what one of them was saying. Always cool, too, that Chomper is bilingual.   ;) Hmm, I wonder if he could teach the others how to speak a little Sharptooth...

And, like I mentioned in another thread, the ending with Thud deciding not to give Chomper and his friends away was nice. Kinda showed that sharpteeth, in spite of being driven by instinct, can still have morals and such. Added another dimension to their kind. :D

Episode Discussion / Discuss: The Great Egg Adventure
« on: April 03, 2015, 01:10:02 PM »
I watched this one on YouTube not long ago.
I enjoyed it, and I thought they did a good job of keeping Hyp, Nod, and Mutt in-character. Yeah Hyp looks a little different, but it's still a close resemblance, and even the voice acting was similar to the original character. :)
I guess I'm someone who appreciates keeping characters in-character when they're reintroduced. I've found that it's not that big a deal to some people, but there's nothing I love more than to see old faces resurface and have it be like old times. Which is exactly the impression I got from this episode. :)

Land Before Time TV Series (2007) / Will the TV Series be continued?
« on: April 03, 2015, 01:06:39 PM »
I sure hope they do. :( We need more episodes, lol - and there are still some characters they have opportunities to reintroduce. :) We've seen Doc, Hyp, Mutt, and Nod, but it'd be cool to see episodes that reintroduce characters like Pterano, Rinkus, Sierra, Ozzy, Strut...So much potential!

General Land Before Time / Things you thought when you first saw LBT
« on: April 03, 2015, 12:59:36 PM »
I used to think that instead of "sharptooth" or "sharpteeth," that they were actually saying "sharktooth" and "sharkteeth."  :lol
Which of course doesn't make sense, because in the 5th movie we understand that none of the Gang had ever seen sharks before coming to the Big Water.
But I was a small kid back then! XD

General Land Before Time / LBT sequel
« on: April 03, 2015, 12:57:38 PM »
Needless to say, The Stone of Cold Fire was by far my favorite sequel. XD
The Secret Of Saurus Rock comes as a close second. 6 and 7 were filled with very memorable characters, at least in my opinion. :)
Doc was mysterious, tough, and all-around cool! We'd never seen a longneck who could defeat a sharptooth (with the exception, of course, of Littlefoot's mother, and even Littlefoot and his friends on occasion, though it's done mostly by trickery or just being able to escape them, or even mere luck.) His vanishing into the distance toward the end was puzzling, too, and just added to his mystery.
I was actually thrilled when I first realized that the series included an episode with Doc's return. :D And they did him pretty fair justice, too!

Your former account name where you don't remember the password was Rachel I think?
To keep it in order with an addition we had to make to the board rules about one account per member recently we will have to disable the old account. Please don't misunderstand this, it is just a formality ;)
I'm really looking forward to reading more posts from you on the GOF.
No problem at all, Malte. :) It makes sense to delete older accounts, as they would serve no purpose if the user's created a new one. :) Thanks for understanding, and I'm glad to be back. :)

And thanks for the welcomes, everyone!

Hey! Do you remember your old username? We can probably find a way for you to get back into your old account.

Either way, welcome back! :wave I don't believe we've met, I'm Iris. Hope to see you around!
Hi Iris, nice to meet you!
Unfortunately no, I don't remember my older account username or password... *embarrassed* -_-

General Land Before Time / Should LBT make Sharpteeth look better?
« on: April 03, 2015, 02:40:26 AM »
I wouldn't be averse to sharpteeth being portrayed better, except that...well, it'd have to be done believably.
Chomper, imo, is believable because he's young, he was hatched and raised by Littlefoot and the others for at least a little while, so the first experiences he ever had on earth were with leaf-eaters, and mostly positive, at that.
Grown sharpteeth? Not sure.
I'm positive that it could be done, and done well, if they just put their backs into brainstorming a way to do it without it seeming ridiculous or cheesy...
The episode that came kinda close which I enjoyed was "Escape From The Mysterious Beyond," (at least I think that was the name of it.) Thud didn't become "good," but he did let Chomper and his friends off the hook because Chomper set him free. At least, that's how I interpreted it. So far, that's about as far as I'd dare take sharpteeth being portrayed in a better light.
It'd be interesting if there were actually villainous sharpteeth that had a motive other than trying to get a meal, but I guess maybe that would make them seem too human? 'Course, it is a fictional world here. Anything goes, kinda.

As far as Rinkus and Sierra having sharp teeth, it's always kinda puzzled me, too.
Personally, I think they probably just ate fish. It's not a plant, and yet again it's not as though they're attacking and eating longnecks or threehorns or other fliers (wait, is it "fliers" or "flyers"?)
The sharp teeth would make sense for that, but not, I'm afraid, for eating plants.
Can't explain Petrie eating plants - I thought all pterosaurs ate fish. But again, we're not entirely in reality.  ;)

I always thought it kinda funny that Chomper helped Littlefoot trip his own parents (though I'm sure at the time he didn't know they were his parents.)
I always assumed that neither Chomper nor his parents recognized each other until that moment toward the end when Chomper decided to talk to them in sharptooth language. His parents' expressions softened when they realized it was their baby, and I suppose from there, they were satisfied and decided not to pay any more attention to Littlefoot. Though I wouldn't be surprised if Chomper put in a good word for Littlefoot, and that had to do with the parents leaving him alone.

Previously, before they recognized him, I'd say that they might have chased him down like they did the others. Carnivores aren't averse to eating each other just because they have the same diet. Um, not sure if this would apply to the LBT universe, but still...

Character Discussion / Who do you think is more sinister?
« on: April 03, 2015, 02:23:46 AM »
Yeah, the award for name-calling would definitely go to Ozzy.
But I think Sierra is easily the more sinister of the two. Ozzy seemed angry and aggressive toward the Gang, but Sierra was borderline psychotic.   He pulled his arm back as if he were going to hit Ducky for saying that he didn't land very well.
Ozzy, although he was mean, for some reason struck me as having way less hatred. He came off more as a grumpy struthie who was tired of his meals constantly being ruined by the Gang.

Character Discussion / Top 10 favourite Characters
« on: April 03, 2015, 02:19:28 AM »
10. Pterano
Need I explain? XD Kidding. He's just an all-around fascinating, entertaining character. Love the voice, the emotional turmoil, the confusion...He's got a lot of baggage.
9. Sierra
Not sure, I know he's a jerk and all, but I seem to have a thing for jerk characters.
8. Rinkus
His seemingly split personality was interesting. Going from a cowering scaredy-egg to a conniving traitor. I'm sure it was a ruse. Besides, he's adorable. XP
7. Doc
C'mon folks, Doc's just cool. XD He's not your average longneck. He's got a pointy, keen-eyed face and an awesome voice, lol.
6. Chomper
He's cute. XD And a sweet little sharptooth, which he can get away with because he's young and was hatched by Littlefoot.
5. Petrie
In case it's not obvious, I love pterodactyls, and Petrie is no exception. :D He's so tiny, and timid, but he cares about his friends more than his own safety, and has a heart of gold.
4. Strut
He seemed more like a victim of his brothers' badgering than a willing participant. After all, he was perfectly happy to eat plants. :p
3. Littlefoot
     He's Littlefoot!
2. Guido
When I gave this guy a chance, I warmed up to him. They easily could have made him annoying, but they gave him a certain appeal I can't put my finger on. XD
1. Saro
I know he only appeared briefly, but it was great seeing a friend of Grandpa Longneck come on stage. Yep, Saro's one of my favs!

General Land Before Time / Upon Further Review
« on: April 03, 2015, 02:07:07 AM »
I'm probably making a grave mistake to even admitting this, I'm gonna get tarred and feathered, but to each their own, right? I'm the only LBT fan I know who actually liked the 7th movie the best, if not as much as the first. Why? I don't know, I guess the characters left a lasting impression on me.
Offhand, I would say that none of the sequels can top the first film because it had superior animation, and many of us first saw it when we were kids - so it brings back memories, and all that.
It does bring back memories for me, and I know the first time I saw it, I was utterly fascinated. But, I have a very active imagination, and most of the sequels actually enhanced my appreciation for the LBT movies - not lessened it. Yeah the quality wasn't as authentic, maybe even some of the storylines weren't. But like I said, I get pretty absorbed into fandoms sometimes, and since I enjoyed almost all of the sequels, I can easily say that it opened up the LBT world for me, even if they weren't like the first movie.

A few of my thoughts on what made the 7th movie stand out to me:

- It's been mentioned before. The villains are leaf-eaters. Which is interesting, because previously, all of the villains (aside from Hyp and his gang being...well, kinda like villains, but really just bullies) are, of course, sharpteeth. Villains that the characters can talk and interact with are fun, no doubt about it. We get a little glimpse into what their motives are, and why they do the things they do. It's not just some hungry carnivore that Littlefoot and the others have to run away from or "defeat" by tricking. Not that this lessens the others - each sequel has something unique about it. But villains among your own lot are interesting. XD

- Not only is the 'villain' - Pterano - a leaf-eater (I'll save the whole "what do pterodactyls eat" topic for another post...), but he's related to one of our Five; sweet little Petrie. :( We get the addition of having the would-be bad guy a family member. Another thing we hadn't yet seen in any of the other movies, which puts some emotional weight on Petrie and the others. Also adds some realism, because let's face it, family isn't perfect, and we get a taste of that in the 7th movie.

- May be a smaller note, but I just thought the characters introduced were so darn appealing. XD Pterano, Rinkus, Sierra, the Rainbow Faces, e.t.c. I hear a lot of mixed reviews on the 7th movie. From what I've seen and heard, fans either love it or hate it. I love it to death, and I certainly don't expect everyone to feel the same way about it as I do, but I've treasured it all these years, and I know I'll continue to do so - probably until the day I die!
