Role Play Discussion / Discussion of "A sudden change of species"
« on: December 09, 2015, 11:37:02 PM »
Hey guys, I'm way to busy right now don't even have time to get on my computer.

Can someone take my characters for a while? I have no time what so ever. I'm working double shifts to get extra money for Christmas so between that and  buying presents, seeing family etc.

Do what you want with them, just keep them alive  :p

No fair..I wanna go there too. Making me jealous, girl. But guess I'll have to make-do with photos and pretend I was there.

When you're up in Queensland, watch out for Cassowaries but I'm sure you already know to be careful of them, freaky dinosaur birds..I swear..demons from hell. Makes me think of a cross between a Velociraptor and an Emu. Those things can turn nasty real quick if threatened.

And watch out for Cone Snails, one of those buggers has enough venom to kill 15 healthly adult humans.

Wow theres lots of deadly things in one area...good luck...

The Fridge / You have gotta be kidding..

You were telling me about this, poor Buddy. Thats just disgusting just because an animal is 'yours' doesn't mean you can do whatever you want to it.

If you ask me the lady should be banned from adopting an animal Australia wide, not just that area. I have no remorse for animal abusers, the animals don't have a voice.

Hope Buddy recovers back to full strength and goes to a home that deserves him, if you have the time (and the money) I say you should so take him or if not you someone else who least knows what they are doing with horses.

People so need to understand what taking care of animal really means, with Christmas coming I fear that many people will get their child a cute puppy or kitten and later the animal will be dumped in a shelter when the child is no longer interested or it's not a cute baby animal anymore.

You don't get rid of a human when it's no longer a cute little baby you can carry around, yet people do it to animals everyday.

But you know what they say, there is no cure for stupid. Just sad that stupid people can have animals and children, and the animals and children always pay.

I'll be up for an animal license and a parenting license, might not stop the stupid but might stop being getting animals and having kids just because they want to.

Silver Screen / Animated Does NOT Mean 'Childish'
« on: August 25, 2015, 09:59:00 PM »
I never get why people say that, or why some people think it's weird to watch cartoons that are for children when you're an adult.

With this My Little Pony, that show is for little girls yet grown adult men watch it and it's considered 'cool', but if a little boy wants to watch it he gets bullied, called a girl, sissy etc. I never watched the new MLP, last MLP I ever watched was the old Swedish version of 'Gen3' when I was 10 years old. I personally have no interest in watching this new one, but if guys want to watch it, let them not hurting anyone.

Just because you're an adult by law does not mean you have to suddenly drop everything and be all mature and serious...well you can if you want but sounds like an awfully boring life never just doing something for enjoyment.

Never saw this Felidae you speak of, but looked up and yeah..characters being murdered and having sex does not seem like a childs film to me, even if it is about animated kitty cats. I would imagine many kids would want to see the 'cat movie' and end up highly disturbed.

I know a 8 year old who thinks she is too grown up for 'cartoons', she is my next door neighbour and I tried lending her some of the old animated Disney film DVDS when she was stuck at home sick, she told me to get that 'baby junk' away.

I'm 20 and love Disney and Animation...so why is it suddenly too babyish for 8 year olds? Hehe..wait until these kids really are adults, then they'll realize how much childhood they missed out on trying to be one back then.

Meanwhile I'm gonna check out the shows people mentioned here.

Saurus Rock: Member Hall of Fame / Award voting 2015
« on: August 13, 2015, 12:10:16 AM »
This was hard since so many people deserve to win in my eyes, but I finally settled on the following.

Fanart Award: RockingScorpion gets my vote this year, his artwork is just stunning. It makes me wonder why he is not a professional artist yet. Though others like StrutEggStealer and Ducky123 also provide amazing work, the scorpion steals the show this year.

Feedback Award: I don't really look at feedback other people leave but from what I have seen, my vote goes to Ducky123 he kindly points out mistakes and how to fix them and encourages the author/artist along. He critics but not so harshly the other feels discouraged. And thats what feedback is all about.

Friendly Member Award: This is the hardest one, I don't really interact with many on here so I'm choosing from the few that I do, though I can never pick who is the friendliest of them all since we all have our quirks and grumpy sides, I'll give the crazy horse lady Nahla the edge this year, moody at times, but what girl isn't? Her sarcasm does make you laugh and without her and bushwacked a certain Skype chat would be really dull. She is the type of friend you like having around.

Helpful Member Award: I'll give this to Ducky123 wherever it help with a fic, artwork or just a general life problem, Ducky's got your back.

Philosopher Award: I tend to avoid topics that tend to be highly debatable (Same-Sex marriage, etc) but from what I have read and skimming the history section my vote goes to rhombus he does not force his opinion down your throat and does try to see both sides of the argument, even if he is against your opinion he does not jump at your throat. No one respects people who force their views after all.

Proactive Award: I'm going to give this to DalekDino every time I come on here he has posted a new caption or something in the fanart section, I remember before he came along the caption section was pretty dead for the most part.

Project Awards: Skip sorry, I didn't even know we had projects on here so have no clue what to judge on...yes I live under a rock.

Role Play Gamer Award: I'm not really into Roleplay even know I'm in one, I'm gonna skip on this.

The Party Room / How's the Weather?
« on: July 12, 2015, 12:17:12 AM »
^ that.

The town woke up to a Winter Wonderland, we currently have 4 inches and the stuff is still falling.

This is the coldest Winter in 30 years, we are actually expecting a blizzard in the next few days. And the temperatures are dropping, NSW is freezing over.

We had an awful storm last night, really strong winds. It was confirmed a mini-tornado no one was hurt luckily.  We're expected to have least of snow 3 meters of snow by the end of the week.

I do love what they are calling this though 'The Big Freeze'  it amuses me for some reason...

Man O' War won the Triple Crown? Wasn't it War Admiral?

Anyway moving on.

I just watched the replay, that's some horse.  Leading from start to finish without any challenge.

I don't know much about American racing either, but I do know a little bit about Australian racing mostly because it's hard to avoid here due to it being so big, our biggest racing being the Melbourne Cup in November run over 2 miles. It's the richest handicap in the world. That's my extent on horse racing knowledge. Besides the British racing I've watched at Ascot anyway.

Why is the Triple Crown so important? Well the prize money, sure but otherwise what makes it so special?

If someone will explain that to me, I'll be happy. Because I do not understand it, isn't it just a horse race?

Never been interested in racing so never bothered to learn much about it, my peeve with horse racing is they start the horses way too young. A two year old horse is still growing and it's bones are not even developed.

I do eventing and we are not allowed to seriously compete our horses until they are at least six when their bones are much stronger. At least here, may be different else where.

Also is his name really American Pharoah? That looks misspelled.

The Written Word / Don't Dial The Devil
« on: June 02, 2015, 03:02:02 AM »
So this is what you been up to, huh?

First off, that is one freaking freaky nightmare..I would honestly cry.

Second of all, that ending was  dam dramatic. Poor Jodie and whoever 'you' (since the story in first person and you didn't give a name) I was not expecting that..not sure what I was expecting..but that was not it.

I have questions though..

What happened to Sam? What is her connection with 'the devil'? And why is the devil Russian? Did you do that randomly or something?

Nice short story, though you  didn't say what in the world happened to Sam..unless your planning on making another...details...details...

Land Before Time RPG / A sudden change of species
« on: May 06, 2015, 08:03:44 PM »
Ducky’s eyes went from each speaker to the other, she was not sure how Ruby’s family could help them when they wouldn’t be able to speak to them. Would they even believe Chomper?

Keeping her doubts to herself she spoke quietly “Yes...water..we’ll never make it to Hanging Rock without it, we’ll die of thirst before anything else.”

The landscape around them seemed to be mocking them, for what seemed like miles ahead the ground was dry and cracked, only the odd rock every now and then stood out in this living hell, it was like a punishment, the world turned against them testing everything they know about survival.

She squinted gazing into the distance trying to spot something...anything...she didn’t dare ask the question as she feared the answer-were they going to die?

Ducky jerked awake the memories of last night haunted her sleep. She hoped for a moment that it was all just a bad dream. But when she saw her friends reality hit her again.

"It wasn't a sleep story.." she spoke quietly. She pulled herself to her feet dreading what was ahead. She glanced down at her stomach as it grumbled. She glupped and hoped her friends would not hear. They all knew what sharp teeth ate.

Role Play Discussion / After the End

Quote from: Nahla,Mar 2 2015 on  07:28 PM
But I somehow doubt the End of The World is meant to be happy anyway.
No, I'm sure the characters are having the time of their lives  :rolleyes

The way Nahla and I were  going to have it, it was going to be a bit dark, the characters are barely alive at the start and have no idea their not the only survivor.

But since we decided to make it a group RP we'll have to change things to suit the whole group.

At the start makes sense for things to be harsh and unpleasant.

But we can't decide what the group will want. And in the end, I guess Nahla is taking role of GM anyway, mainly cause I'm far to lazy. So her word is final at the end of the day.

Character Discussion / What to do about Chomper's future?
« on: March 01, 2015, 02:00:43 AM »
You've bought this kind of subject up many many times...

Lets get it out of the way now,

They're FICTIONAL dinosaurs
Living in a FICTIONAL world

But, Chomper is still  a predator and predators kill.

Lets take Simba from The Lion King, he was raised pretty much by Timon and Pumbaa-prey. Yet he still eats meat even though he was raised by his food pretty much. As a cub he ate grubs, but grubs won't support a full grown male lion.

I know he doesn't hunt, the lionesses do. Just like real life. But he still eats the meat does he not? True he was never shown eating meat, but he is a lion. Lions eat meat.

Chomper will have to kill when he gets older

I doubt Universal will ever have them grow up anyway, so why you seem to worry so much is beyond me.

Nature isn't fair. 'leaf eaters' are prey 'sharpteeth' are predators. The predators eat the prey, it's how they survive. They don't kill for fun  but for survival.

Even in the real world.

Survival comes before feelings,

Right now the gang including Chomper are all kids, they don't yet know the true reality of life and just how much things will change when they get older.

Innocence of a childs mind.

The gang and Chomper will move on and put their childhood days behind them. They'll want families of their own, they'll still have that friendship but they won't be going running around the Mysterious Beyond anymore.

Everyone changes when they grow up. It's the fact of life.
