For me, although LBT defines my childhood, some of the songs they sing are annoying at times, especially when they get stuck in your head  :bang But here's a list of songs that have always gotten stuck in my head (which actually includes most of them):

Peaceful Valley
Eggs
One Of Us Now :bang :bang :bang :bang
When You're Big  :bang :bang :bang
Standing Tough
Grandma's Lullaby :bang
Big Water
Friends For Dinner
The Legend of the Lone Dinosaur
Good Inside :bang
Very Imortant Creature
The Mad Song
Family
Imaginary Friends
Big Water (Reprise)  :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang
Me And My Dad

The :bang ones are the worst ones for me.

General Land Before Time / Pros and Cons of land before time movies
« on: April 07, 2013, 10:13:08 PM »
Original

Pros: Beautiful story, amazing animation, great score, and (generally) enjoyable for the whole family. The one that started it all. It's about overcoming obstacles, getting past prejudices, and most importantly: never giving up on your dreams.

Cons: It's about 20 minutes shorter than it SHOULD be. In fact, it's roughly the EXACT same length as Bambi, which I think is one reason why people call it the "dinosaur version of Bambi."

The Great Valley Adventure

Pros: It's a good follow-up to the original. It shows that the journey didn't have to end after the original feature.

Cons: While the first couple songs are okay, I hate Hate HATE "One Of Us Now!"  :bang It gets stuck in my head, like most LBT songs, which are usually a guilty pleasure for me, but not that one. I used to love it, but now I just find it nonsensical and a bit annoying.

The Time of the Great Giving

Pros: This is actually a huge improvement to the second sequel, which while it wasn't horrible, it was a bit lackluster. This one has more drama than the second movie, almost near as good as the original.

Cons: I can't really think of many cons about this, other than the part where they scream "AAHHH!" is kind of annoying and pretty silly. But other than that, it's one of my favorite sequels.

Journey Through The Mists

Pros: I like the fact that they finally made a beloved character almost die from being sick. It adds an emotional twist to the story.

Cons: Like The Great Valley Adventure, it is a bit lackluster. Also, Grandma's Lullaby gets stuck in my head. >.<

The Mysterious Island

Pros: I like the fact that they finally made the dinosaurs leave the Great Valley and venture into the Mysterious Beyond for an extended period of time. Also, Chomper returns!  :smile

Cons: It's a bit overrated I think. This is kind of my own fault, but I've seen it too many times.  :bang Also, Chomper's parents would probably have eaten the gang in real life. :lol

The Secret of Saurus Rock

Pros: I like the spookiness of it. Many people are bothered by it, but I think it's an interesting story.

Cons: Can't really think of any. Once again, another favorite of mine.

The Stone of Cold Fire

Pros: We finally get to learn a bit more about Petrie's family, particularly his uncle. Also, Rinkus and Sierra are an interesting duo. I also liked the animation style. I know alot of people didn't, but I did for some reason.

Cons: I know I spoke about being realistic when speaking about number 5, I kind of wish that the Stone would have actually been magic. It would have made the story more interesting.

The Big Freeze

Pros: Unusual weather, eh? I thought it was cool (literally  ;) ) to finally see snow in the Great Valley, as well as the fact that the Great Valley itself is NOT perfect.

Cons: I thought the part where Spike falls under the ice at the end was kind of unnecessary. I mean, it was okay the first few times I watched it, but I think now that it seemed more like filler.

Journey to Big Water

Pros: We finally get to see some rain in the Great Valley. After watching Journey Through the Mists, I thought that the Great Valley NEVER got rain. Idk why  :lol I always found the songs enjoyable, even the Imaginary Friends song. Petrie having a toothless sharptooth was actually kind of cute. :DD The best song is No One Has To Be Alone though. The "Boring" song is good too.

Cons: OMG Where do I BEGIN??!?!??? This is one of my least favorite movies, 2nd least fave only to 13. First of all, I hate how Littlefoot called Mo his "best friend" after only knowing him for 10 minutes.  :anger Also, while Mo can be cute at times, he is kind of annoying. I was annoyed most by the part where he pretended to die only to freak them out. In half of the movie, the voice acting is HORRIBLE!!!!!!  :anger The sentence "We can figure something out" said by Littlefoot to Cera has always bothered me. Also, the part at the end when they are grieving over Mo. First of all, I thought it was dumb to assume that Mo was dead just because he was being chased. Then, their little pity party after they thought Mo died had some pretty horrible voice acting as well. The Big Water reprise always gets stuck in my head and I HATE it :bang However, the thing about the movie that bothered me the MOST was the grasshoppers. That part was just stupid. They aren't SHARPTEETH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!!!!!  :anger There's PLENTY of bugs in the Great Valley I'm sure. One last thing, it's actually an error: In the closing credits, the "Boring" song is written out in some other language, which I never understood :idea

The Great Longneck Migration

Pros: My ALL time favorite sequel! :D Even my LBT-hating sister thought it was funny at times. :smile The best thing about this sequel is that it has a bit of continuity to the original feature, like the earthshake that separated Littlefoot from his grandparents. Also, I liked learning about Bron. Also, I like how Bron was called "Littlefoot" when he was younger, meaning that Littlefoot, while yes his name is cute for a YOUNG dinosaur, he won't have that name forever.  :smile The sharptooth part followed by the "great circle" part was probably

Cons: The only thing that bothered me is that they didn't necessarily "Save the world" when all that really happened was a solar eclipse, but I guess that's because I already knew what a solar eclipse was when I saw this movie. Also, the fact that dreams are suddenly called "sleep stories" was kind of odd.

The Invasion of the Tinysauruses

Pros: I just LOOOOVE the tiny longnecks, especially Skitter! I've always just wanted to take home Skitter and keep him as a pet!!!!!!!  :DD <3 I love him. His voice is adorable, and his name is cute too. I also like the story because the moral of the story is similar to the orignal as you should never judge someone because they are different, but this one is different in the fact that it means that you should never judge someone by their size. I also liked the whole Tria storyline. It finally showed the sweet side of Cera's father, or "Topsy." Tria was also a nice addition to the cast. There were quite a few LOL parts as well. It's the funniest movie in my opinion.

Cons: Nothing in this movie really bothered me. I thought it was pretty solid overall.

The Great Day of the Flyers

Pros: I loved the part where Mr. Threehorn/Topsy fell into the mud.  :lol I also loved when Grandpa Longneck was like "I only wish Grandma could have seen it." I had no idea he had a sense of humor

Cons: I couldn't really find much to complain about here either.

The Wisdom of Friends

Pros: (as if there are any) :lol But yes there are a few. This movie means well in trying to teach lessons, or "wisdoms". While it fails at that, there are a few funny parts, like when Cera says "Here's a wisdom for you: DON'T EVER WAKE ME UP AGAIN!!!!!!!" :lol

Cons: Do I even need to say it? Just about EVERYTHING was wrong with this movie! Littlefoot has turned into a party pooper. The animation is terrible. The part where Grandma Longneck falls off the edge in Littlefoot's dream bothered me for some reason. The yellow-bellies, while comical at times (and even sometimes reminiscent of the FAR more awesome Dory in Finding Nemo), are just annoying. The stupidest part of the movie is when you see the silhouette of Grandma Longneck at the end and they thought she was a sharptooth. In my opinion, it SHOULD have been a sharptooth, with the adults coming to save the day. Probably would have saved me from hating it so much.

Well, there you have it!

Land Before Time TV Series (2007) / Season 2
« on: April 07, 2013, 08:52:09 PM »
Everyone has their own opinions. I, however, have never even seen the TV series. Having said that, while I think it's okay to not like the TV series itself or even to have a strong opinion about it, I don't think it's okay to call OTHERS out just because their opinion is totally different. Malte here dislikes LBT 10, which is actually my favorite, yet I don't mind.  :smile

64
I think they may have been still asleep, or at least before the earthshake happened.

1988 Theatrical Release / Outcut land before time scenes
« on: April 05, 2013, 12:19:04 AM »
Well, much as we want to see the unedited version, I doubt that Don Bluth would pull a George Lucas by adding in the deleted scenes to the film. (If you don't know what I mean by "pulling a George Lucas", I'm referring to Star Wars, when Lucas altered movies IV, V, and VI).  :x

^jalistair, that looks more like Littlefoot's Grandma than his mother.

66
Actually, my main reason for loving LBT so much when I was an adolescent was because I liked to watch each one in order just to see the evolution of animation. :smile I thought it was interesting how much the animation world had changed from simply drawings to computer-generated animation.

67
I think it was because he was feeling slightly bitter and sad at the same time about his mother's death, and had to find someone to blame. Because his mother was his main caretaker and the only other person (i mean dinosaur   :oops ) that he was ever close to.

The Fridge / My current news/events

Hi, Jared. My name is Dan. I'm new here, but nice to meet you! :D

About the soda, trust me, giving it up will be the best thing that ever happened to you :yes .When I was 19, I weighed 183 pounds. However, I gave up soda cold turkey after hearing other people talk about how it adds alot of weight (mostly due to the high sugar content as well as the fact that pretty much anything carbonated dehydrates you). Anyway, After drinking mostly water for a couple months (a little milk or juice here and there, but mostly water), I started to see an improvement. Exercising at least once a week also helped to speed up my weight loss and metabolism. Ever since Fall 2011, my weight has been fluctuating between 158 and 164. I'm a pretty short guy, standing at only a mere 5 feet 5 inches tall.  :p

About your job, I think it's time to find a new one. Home Depot pays about 11 per hour ;) , in Texas at least. Also, depending on how many raises you get and how nice your boss is. At least that's what I would do

If you ever wanna talk to me or vent out your problems to someone, feel free message me anytime. :)

Sound Off! / Worst song you ever heard?
« on: April 03, 2013, 12:35:45 PM »
I actually like Gangnam Style. It at least has a melody, and finding out how to pronounce the words and find out what they mean is all part of the fun for me. :p Harlem Shake has NO melody, so it has no place in the Billboard Hot 100.

Right now, am in HATE with Harlem Shake! I just want to destroy that song and annihilate it from existence. :bang I hate it so much, it's not even real music. Bauuer should apologize to America, or be locked up for making it. :lol  Also, if anyone has heard Revolution 9 by the Beatles (which isn't AS bad, but it is extremely creepy), that's one of the worst recordings in history, which is outrageous when you think about the fact that it was conjured up by John Lennon, the man who wrote such musical masterpieces as Strawberry Fields Forever and co-wrote A Day In The Life.

I'm sure many people will say Friday by Rebecca Black, though I personally don't think it's that bad. I mean sure, the lyrics are dumb, 13 year olds shouldn't be driving, and she should really not forget about her friend on the left  :lol (that was a joke) but I still feel bad for her because she was bullied out of school.  :(

Sound Off! / Saddest song you ever heard?
« on: April 03, 2013, 12:17:38 PM »
Any song by Martina McBride, and a few Carrie Underwood songs like Just A Dream. I usually don't listen to country music, but alot of country ballads are really depressing and I'm just like UGH! :bang . Thinking Of You by Katy Perry is also kind of sad, especially the music video.  :cry Also, Summer Love by One Direction is sad and beautiful. <3

I know that while the film was chopped and edited in order to attain a "G" rating instead of a "PG" rating, Don Bluth wasn't necessarily happy with the final cut.

73
3 is my favorite "early" sequel. My favorite sequel period is 10. Even my sister (who openly hated LBT as long as I watched it) found 10 rather enjoyable and even funny. :D

Haha, Imagine Dragons is alright. I've only heard "It's Time" but I prefer the Glee version (though mostly because I just love the character who sings it). :p

But yes, I love Olly Murs! <3 I only found out about him about a week and a half ago, but I went and bought his first UK album online (it's not available in the US  :x ) and I fell in love with it. My mom heard "Please Don't Let Me Go" and asked me to make her a copy, now SHE ordered a new Olly Murs CD :D xD

General Land Before Time / (me, too) Lbt/maturity problem. :(
« on: April 02, 2013, 08:50:47 PM »
I know this topic is kinda old, but I DEFINITELY feel your pain. I was told the same stuff by my parents, as well as my sister who made fun of me for it and told all her friends about it.  :cry I gave them up for 5 years, but I started watching them again a few months ago for nostalgia. When re-watching them, I started thinking to myself "Hey, I'm an adult now making adult choices. If I like to watch raunchy shows like Glee and True Blood, I can definitely watch LBT if I want to  ;) . It's my life, my decision." But of course, I go to college, meaning I have lots of freedom from my parents.

General Land Before Time / Ever had any LBT dreams at night.

Haha most, if not all, of my LBT dreams involved me getting chased by a Sharptooth  :wow  :lol

Thanks guys. Nice to meet you all. :) You all seem like genuinely nice people.

78
Number 7 is one of my favorites, especially when it came out (though I was mostly just dazzled by the new animation style). Idk, I always tend to like things that no one else likes.

79
I've always loved it. I hear alot of people complain about it, saying that LBT started "going downhill" after that, but I strongly disagree. I thought the whole plotline was interesting, the twins are adorable <3, Doc is just plain awesome, and I have always had great respect for the moral of the story, which is that the people in your family who take care of you can be heroes too. :)

Silver Screen / 1990s overrated?
« on: April 02, 2013, 07:45:31 PM »
Call me biased, but as a 90s kid, no they were not overrated. Besides, those were the days of the Disney Renaissance (which started with the release of The Little Mermaid in 1989).
