The funny thing is that I thought your birthday was YESTERDAY, so I spent the better part of the day working obsessively on it, hoping to get it in on time. I came here ready to post it with an apology for being late, only to find that no one else had even posted in this thread yet! :blink: :lol Well, as mistakes go, this is one of mine that I’m not too sorry about. :p
I hope you don’t mind that I used your wingtail characters in the image, Sky (and I hope they at least look okay).
By the way, this marks the first time I have ever drawn an official LBT character (Ruby), :wow not counting the picture I created for pokeplayer984’s video (in which I drew the gang as realistic baby dinosaurs).
I'm eager to hear what you think. :smile

Thats a lovely picture, and I can see that you really worked hard on it. Considering that we hardly ever see any art from you, this is quite exceptional compared to what sad attempts I could ever make drawing from scratch.
Sky's pose is slightly slanted, but the lines are all in the proper places and the expression on his face is realistic and believable. Ruby is very well drawn, and looks similar to how I might expect her to look in the series! Siak is amusing, as I can see the place where the hat is drawn alludes to her introduction (in which she has seaweed covering her face). Fortunately, this pose also means you can avoid drawing her eyes which from what you have said are difficult to get right.
Glide looks almost like you would expect him to look, if a little bit meaner then usual. I had hoped to characterize him as stern and serious as opposed to angry, but apparently the image of the villian is one that is still sticking in people's minds. Perhaps I have been too conservative in my portrayal.
Also, Glide's nose looks a little bit too pointed to the point where he looks a bit like an ape :lol. Nonetheless, he's still pretty cute and contributes a bit of a 'whats all the fuss about' emotion to the whole picture.

Yay, you both caught the reference! :celebrate Yeah, I liked the mental image of Siak with something covering her eyes, and thought it would be hilarious with a party hat. :lol And you're precisely correct about the bonus that it means I don't have to draw those pesky eyes. :p

Actually, Glide’s expression is meant to express his irritation at being made to wear a party hat. :lol He’s probably thinking something like, “As soon as this party’s over, I’m throwing this thing into a smoking mountain.”
By the way, the idea of having the characters wear hats was at least partially inspired by one of Ptyra's art pieces; specifically, the last one in this post (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=2480&view=findpost&p=9197342).)

Yeah, Glide’s beak and mouth were the main things I wasn’t entirely happy with (I think his mouth slants upwards too much). And I probably should have moved his pupil all the way up to the corner of his eye, to make it clearer that he’s looking at the hat on his head. I’m pretty happy with the rest of him, though.

Yep, I drew it. :yes I looked at references for all of the characters (and the words, too; if you didn't notice already, they're based on the LBT title font; compare them to a LBT video or DVD case and you'll see what I mean ;)), but the entire thing is hand-drawn by yours truly. :smile I used pencil and colored pencil, and my favorite pen (it's shaped like a longneck :p) for my signature and the rest of the message.

As a matter of fact, I was planning to start an art thread. So far, though, the only LBT-related art I have to submit are my avatar, my submission for pokeplayer's July art contest, and a picture of Siak (the toothy character on Caustizer's card). That's if you don't count my dinosona picture (which I could post, although I already have a post describing it) and this card, of course. However, I can't help but think it might be a little strange if I posted the card in my fanart thread. :unsure: (What do you think?) Anyway, I'm not a very prolific artist, so unfortunately my art thread probably won't be updated very often.

I wish I could be happy today but... I'm stuck here alone at my house since my parents went away on vacation. I tried to have a party, but all the guests backed out because somebody's friend was getting married tommarow (a wedding I'm not invited to) or they are on vacation so it didn't happen.
Basically what happened today was:
1) No people around to wish me a happy birthday (only phonecalls from some)
2) No dinner or presents whatsoever
Sometimes I wonder if its my fault for just expecting people to return the kindness I show to them. :(

Thank you Pangaea, Cancerian Tiger, and Sky for the belated birthday wishes! My parents came back home for Sunday night, and we had a birthday dinner and it was particularly delicious.
And it was... fish! Shrimp actually since they had just been out east, so the picture is particularly fitting. I appreciate your efforts to make a birthday card for me Pangaea and I wish you the best of luck in making it. :angel
I'll make sure to review the picture as soon as possible, but off hand I absolutely love it!

Thank you for your birthday wishes. I know you have been great in giving me birthday cards in the past but now that both of us are not very active on the GOF anymore its okay for no more birthday exchanges to happen. After all, birthday gifts are supposed to be given through the kindness of your heart, never demanded or in the case of the most humble expected.
