1988 Theatrical Release / Re: Outcut land before time scenes
« on: March 15, 2025, 03:25:14 AM »
This thread has been so quiet. We used to constantly be getting rumors about tapes that supposedly had the lost footage, only to always be let down. Well, I guess no news is good news in this case, since at least we’re not going to be getting our hopes up for nothing.

3
Yes, at the moment no one is interested in responding.

So frustrating  :facepalm

4
People will respond if they are interested in responding. No need to bump topics in this way.

So what you’re saying is no one cares about this topic I made?

But I'm pretty sure he doesn't tell Ducky his mother gave it to him

in this case how would Ducky know?

Quote
Littlefoot: Well, you can't. You're tearing my tree star.
Ducky: lt is very special. His mother gave it to him. She did.
Petrie: Ooh! Mother present. Very important. l keep safes. Don't let nobodies touch.

She clearly just assumed. I already mentioned, there's no point where Littlefoot could have told her about it.

This villain, like Sierra, had no remorse, Ozzy was definitely a psychopath, but not on the same level as Sierra was.  I still think the Flyer was a lot worse than this Egg Stealer.

While I do like Ozzy, I admit understand the comparision of him to Sierra much more than with Ichy, as he does attempt to kill for the sake of revenge rather than food.  I'm glad that you at least think he's not as bad as Sierra,.

after his own two friends stood there and did nothing, instead choosing to argue with each other over who should save him.

I kind of feel you're looking for reasons  to make these characters sound more "evil"  than they actually are. I'm don't think they actually wanted their friend dead, at leas that's not how I perceived it.

Yeah, "the dinosaurs ascribe meaning to something happenstance" is a recurring plot device across the series. I wouldn't say this is even the highest-profile example, that being the longnecks in LBT10 believing they needed to stretch their necks to save the planet from a solar eclipse, and then from their POV supposedly pulling it off. (3rd place is probably "The Sky Circle Celebration" where Petrie thinks Cera's lack of sun worship is causing the Bright Circle to fail.) I don't mind it myself as it pokes fun at the protagonists being kids, an age group who's just generally more likely to have such simplistic worldviews.

I'm glad SOMEONE finally responded. Thank you. It means a lot.

Helloooooooooo out there....anyone??

I hope so, but I don't see it happening soon. But it seems like the kinda thing that'd get a reboot or something.  :DD

I'm just tired of there being nothing. LBT 14 got our hopes up that the series was finally back, and then...it completely disappeared again.

10
While we're finding this stuff, maybe we can find out if Universal has any plans for an LBT 15...?

I see like 7 or 8 when Ducky first starts to hatch…yet when her mom or dad brings her back, only three have hatched, and it’s hard to tell, but it really doesn’t look like there are still any unhatched eggs.

Then at the end of the film there’s four siblings that she introduces to Spike…so, either there was another, or she had another sibling since then?

And then the sequels make it even more confusing by having her say, “I’m one of 13 twins, 13 of us hatched at the same time…” This line has always confused me. Even assuming there are siblings we never saw in the original film, it definitely looked like there were less than 13 eggs.

And this isn’t even getting into the later batches of siblings she has who are born in movies 2 and 14. Honestly, it doesn’t surprise me that Ducky’s siblings outside of Spike never got any focus like Petrie’s in movie 12. There are way too many to keep track of.

It wasn't actually the one she gave him, since that one was bigger. He was just reminded of her by it. Sure, Ducky says it's the same one, but she can't say that for sure unless Littlefoot told her, and at no point between when they meet and the two come across Petrie does Littlefoot tell her this.

If it was. I doubt Littlefoot would just let it go if it made it to the Great Valley.

Forgive me, it's been a very long time since I've seen the film. If it's not the treestar she gave him, where did it come from? Do we see him grab it at some point?

He finds it while grieving her, and hearing her voice.

General Land Before Time / Re: Journey of the Brave (LBT 14)
« on: February 24, 2025, 01:47:27 AM »
This film has officially broken the hiatus record.

Right??? I can't believe it. It's making me worried that we really have seen the last of LBT.

I wonder if anyone can get in touch with someone from Universal, maybe ask them if there's any chance it will be brought back.

15
He hasn't attacked you. He wrote down some information on a children's movie and you call him rude for it because you see him as presenting his opinion as fact.

If you really want us to go in-depth on a fictional movie's probable character motives, you should present things differently, for example:

Your post:

Quote
They ended up bringing bad luck to the Great Valley as they were the ones who broke Saurus Rock,

THAT. WAS, NEVER. CONFIRMED!!!!!!!!!!!

That was NEVER confirmed! Why are you stating that like it's fact?? We don't know that!

Me, personally? I don't believe it EVER caused bad luck (I mean, it's not like there aren't other films where something bad happens n in the great valley!), but do I act like I know that for 100% sure? No! So why are you? Are you trying to deliberatelty mislead people??????

This isn't just a case of having a different opinion. You're deliberately stating your opinion like it's factual.

^ Of course it wasn't confirmed. It is what the kids believed. It is what was implied, very heavily, in the movie. They sang a song about it. The kids were scared about it. No one is going to spell it out for the viewers, but it was heavily implied. But yes, it wasn't confirmed.

Now if you wanted to start a discussion like a non-rude human being, you'd have posted something like this:

Quote
They ended up bringing bad luck to the Great Valley as they were the ones who broke Saurus Rock,

"I think that is a common opinion, but I actually believe they didn't bring bad luck to the Great Valley. It was after all, never confirmed by the writers, so it could be that they brought bad luck, or it could be that they didn't bring bad luck."

Honestly we are not "siding" with anyone. You are just being extremely obnoxious and then immediately apologize afterwards, as if that makes things right.

Now I understand that you are probably on the spectrum, and that is okay, many of us are. But that does not give you the right to act like a tyrant. Stop attacking other members, stop calling them rude for simply posting their thoughts. People have been reporting your posts left and right, people have called you out multiple times in public too.

Perhaps you feel like the entire forum is against you... But you have to ask, if the entire place is against you, is the place the problem, or are you?

I hope you have some time for an introspection. I expect no further comments on members being rude for talking about probably events in the movies or tv series. You're welcome to start a discussion, but please re-read your post two times before you post, and if you feel like you need to apologize for anything in the post, I would recommend leaving it out or rewriting that section. Because you are the one being rude, and we are done with it.

Thank you for trying to understand my point of view. I am indeed on the spectrum, and constantly struggle in real life because of it. But I know it's no excuse to treat others badly.

I think if Diddy had responded to me and explained his side, I would have been able to reconcile his comments that I...didn't care for. Since he never did, I let my frustration get the better of me, and I see now that nothing good was ever going to come of that.

I guess I just felt frustrasted because I felt that no one was hearing me on certain things. That's why I really appreciated your idea on what I could have worded better about the LBT 6 thing, Mumbling. I partially used it to make a thread just now, one I hope is respectful enough. Do you have any suggestions on how I could rephrase the next few comments I made?

Ichy is definitely an evil character,...  He did display somewhat psychopathic tendencies, as he, too, was willing to kill the Gang in cold blood

That first part I STILL feel is him trying to present his opinion as fact. Since Ichy is a carnivore, I never really saw him as acting outside of his natural instinct. I don't mind it if Diddy thinks otherwise, but him saying Ichy is definitely an evil character---as if there isn't any other way of seeing the character---is what bothered me.

I hope that explains things a little better.

General Land Before Time / Did breaking Saurus Rock really bring bad luck?
« on: February 22, 2025, 05:44:23 AM »
This is something I feel is I think is a common opinion, but I actually believe it beaking didn't bring bad luck to the Great Valley. Not only was it never confirmed by the writers, but how often has the Great Valley also had bad stuff happen? In LBT 3, we get the water supply being blocked off. In LBT 4, Grandpa Longneck, the valley's leader, suddenly becomes terminally ill. Then in the next movie, all of the leaves are eaten by insects. Several movies after that, there's a huge blizzard and the population of the valley facing starvation, is followed-up in the next film with a monsoon AND an earthquake. A few films after that, a pair of sharp teeth manage to get into the valley...something Saurus Rock supposedly prevents.

Simply put, the Great Valley is not immune to bad luck. If Littlefoot had just accepted this, the last 15-20 minutes of LBT 6 could have been entirely avoided. Honestly, there was a great opportunity at the end for Littlefoot to understand that some kinds of bad luck is self-inflicted, but there are other kinds that just happen, and decide Saurus Rock didn't need to be fixed even after they got the tooth. But nope, they have to fix to "set things right", and even when Grandpa Longneck gently tries to assure Littlefoot that it probably doesn't even exist, Littlefoot still wants to be sure, to which Grandpa humors him. Because, you know, that's the lesson kids should be taught, to be afraid of things that are all in their head.

Aside from Cera's obnoxious cousins, this is the easily the worst thing about LBT 6. The only redeeming part of the kids being so paranoid is that we got easily one of the funnest songs in the series. If only it was enough to compensate.

General Land Before Time / Re: Superior Kids or Incompetent Adults? Both!

... as I've just warned you in another topic, please consider that warning echoed here, greylizard. I suggest you drop it.

Look, I don’t want to start anything with you. You’re not the person who upset me, and I’m sorry my response to you reflected off that.

But I also wrote a rather detailed analysis two nights ago in this thread, and it saddens me that you’re focusing solely on my sore feelings towards the other user, and not any of the points I tried to make in my analysis.

With that said, I’ll try to stop voicing my frustrations in ways that come across as confrontational. I’m not great when it comes to people saying things that bother me, but I’ll try to keep things friendly.

18
Diddy didn't "start" anything. Please consider this an official warning, you're being extremely rude. Saying sorry right after you say something rude does not make it less rude.

I felt Diddy was being kind of rude and still do, but I apologize for the disruption. I don’t want to cause trouble. It’s just that I’m very sensitive to certain things like this, and was just voicing my frustration, hoping that Diddy would respond to me and explain his side better.

I admit that I do feel like you’re “siding” with him by not trying to look at things from my perspective. But I don’t want to upset people for no reason, and I don’t want to be blocked or anything.

:confused You seem to have a weird habit of persistently demanding responses from certain members who have long since stopped visiting this site for personal reasons. Are you not even aware that The Friendly Sharptooth and RainbowFaceProtege had both made separate topics several months or years ago announcing they were leaving with intentions of never ever coming back? Honestly, you might as well be expecting a gravestone to somehow respond to your speeches. Do yourself a favor and just let it go. Find something else to do that'll be more worthy of your time and effort.

No way.  They're the ones who started this. I wouldn't have had a problem if they hadn't.

And also...did you even read ANYTHING I wrote in my previous post????? Did I literally write all that for nothing??? Are you saying I'm wrong???

20
GreyLizard226, it is not polite at all. :/

If your opinion and your views of facts about whatsoever doesn't match with someone's, it's not the reason to order someone to stop writing theirs. ESPECIALLY in project threads like this one, when people spent I dunno how many hours/days to analyze and compose their work.
Not to mention spam behaviour for past year.

And "why are you writing all this stuff down that most fans already know" critique is just beyond my understanding... Diddy decided to write a well-known fact, or decided to not only calculate screentimes of each character, but also write some description and analysis - that's all, that's their right to do so.

Diddy is the one who started this. I don't have a problem with him writing biographies...but I don't like him presenting opinionated statements as facts. Or unconfirmed things as facts. ( If there was ever ACTUAL confirmation that Saurus Rock being broken deftinitely brouight bad luck, I apologize for not being aware of it.) And writing all this stuff that fans are presumably aware of in past tense gives it a condescending vibe.

I'm sorry. I know he put a lot of work into all of this and I really do appreciate it all.
