Thanks Malte.
A thunderstorm would be cool indeed... But a mess to draw!  :wow

Yeah, I think they came out good in the end. Don't worry about it.  :)

I REALLY want to learn how to draw landscapes that I could use with my characters. I have the ideas, but I don't know how transfer them from brain to hand, from my hand to my pencil and from my pencil to paper!
Maybe I can find a tutorial or alike, but as you said; I have several photos that provide with inspiration. I just wonder how to draw them.

Any other artists here have any ideas?
Do well. Live well. And dress very well.

You might try to put one of those pictures in front of you and try to copy them thesame way you could copy a character. It doesnt need so much detail in the beginning, you can advance from there on I'm sure.

What Mumbling said.

You might also consider starting by virtual landscapes, that have clear limits and are not as complex as real pictures. For example, I already tried drawing a landscape from agame, a not too complex one, and I was able. Guess what happened when I tried to draw out a mountain from a real picture...

I've seen some artists use real landscape pictures and put their characters onto them.  I also wonder if there may be public domain pictures you could use, or screenshots of the Great Valley, or other spots, that have no characters in them, maybe you could use those too.

I've done that with Powerpoint and Paint... its how I work the computer fanart. But to draw it with a pencil... man, that's tough.
