Long story short, Disney is going to make a dark Disney game, titled "Epic Mickey". And yes, everything I'm about show you here is real.

Here are the videos I've dug up:

    :o   Holy crap is all I have to say! The concept arts in the that one url ("Forgotten Dreams") really caught me off-guard the first time around. Its like Disney meets H.P. Lovecraft with a good dose of Tim Burton thrown in!

Its also been confirmed that the theme of "Its a Small World After All" will play backwards in one section of the game's music. Here's a video of someone emulating that:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gzh8TuYDIcI

Well, here's to hoping that this the most awesome thing ever created for video games. It sure looks good (if not nightmare inducing just by looking at some of the art or listening to "Small World" backwards) and I will be getting this. Also, its Wii exclusive.

Edit: sorry for all this url's, but this has to be seen to be believed.

I can't say I'm going to get this when this comes out, but I'm glad Disney is finally getting out of it's purely "Disney Channel" stage. :p

That's some scary concept art near the end of the second video. It actually frightened me.

This looks like a really good game... like Rat_lady said, it's refreshing to see Disney finally getting serious instead of all bright and fluffy and Hannahmontana-y. :yes

How come you won't be gettingthis, Rat Lady? Just curious. After all, if we want this trend to continue in Disney, we have to send the message that the darker approach is acceptable by using our wallets.

Anyway, yeah I love that Disney is doing something different for a change. I've had enough of the insipid balanity that has been plaquing Disney for about...I have no idea how long.

I dont have a wii, but it can be interesting.  I'm surprised Disney would do anything like this.

Well firstly, I'm not a game person. :p I have a ds, but I really don't play my games that much anymore. It's like every once in awhile I'll play a game on my ds. So why pay a lot for a game I probably won't use in the future...as epic as it looks. >.>

Secondly, if I am at someone else's place that has it, I'll probably play along with them, like try it before I buy it. ;)

Thirdly...I'm a wuss when it comes to dark, horror things. I mean I don't mind it, but I'm afraid that this is going to give me nightmares or something. :p lol

The "balanity" I think has been plaquing Disney ever since HSH showed. :p

no!
I nearly cried when i saw the damn video, i REALLY don't like it when Disney goes serious
I thought after they bought Marvel, could it get any worse than this???
Disney pretty much died with buying all those companies and JETIX and stuff like that, the movies are still awesome, but they are more like Universal-family-friendly movies
this game is TERRIBLE, this does NOT look Disney lrelated AT ALL
with those scary-looking creatures, and everything happy and Disney World is trashed, (i'm crying), old Disney friends are torn up....
I honestly like the bad idea of Kingdom Hearts better than this!

and this is BEYOND the Scooby-Doo games and Luigi's Mansion and stuff like that

I like Disney back when it DIDN'T have a dark side, now i like it even less...

I think Cartoon Network's "doomsday" game FusionFall is better than this crap

A darker Disney is initeresting , if nonly that all we see from Disney is the purely saccrine stuff they normally produce. Have Mickey swear, put some moves on minnie, smack Donald around once in awhile. the goody-goddy' brand needs to be tweaked quite a bit. theres a reasion people like bugs Bunny a lot more than Mickey, Bugs has a edge to him..Mickey doesn't.

it would be sort of strange seeing the main character of MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE swearing...
But it would be nice to have the girl have a good angert and fighting moves. It worked with Princess Fiona, Amy Rose, Dawn (Pokemon), etc.

But i still hate the concept of the game. I sort of hate the man Walt Disney now, He's not the man you think he is...

and the goody-goody brand has already been tweaked when they wasted a useful $4 billion on Marvel)

Walt had his flawsm, like all men, he didn't really like jews all that much..for one.. although all the films he produced were at least good, and they didn't sequlize everything like t Disney did starting in the 90s, trashing most of the good to great films with cheap sequels.. And as for tweaking I meant the Mickey mouse Characters, hes been a goodygoody for 70 years, he needs to changed a bit..

See, incoporating those characters actually gives the anime a twist.. Combinations of genres can work well, look at all the films that combine live actors and animation nowaadays.. you can thank Who Framed Roger Rabbit for that. Having the Disney characters act serious is a big change  from how they normally act..
