Silver Screen / Least favorite Disney movie(s)?
« on: April 11, 2014, 01:39:45 PM »
I think pretty much all of us have seen and/or loved at least one Disney movie in our lives, if not all of them. However, there are those Disney movies that either bore us half to death or scare the living jinkies out of us :wow. Personally, The Fox and the Hound is my least favorite movie, not because it's boring (because it's actually FAR from boring), but because it's depressing and scary. :cry I don't totally HATE the movie but I always hated how dead set Copper was on killing Todd after Chief was injured, especially since he and Todd were best buddies as children. However, the worst part of the movie is actually the BEAR! I HATE that bear so much! It's the most evil-looking creature I've ever seen in a cartoon :cry I used to be scared to watch it, and I still find it the scariest thing I've ever seen in an animated movie.

But that's just mine, of course. What are yours?

Silver Screen / Frozen
« on: April 11, 2014, 01:31:16 PM »
I saw it for the first time a couple weeks ago and even though I had a hard time admitting it to myself, I loved it :DD . I'm particularly obsessed with the devastatingly handsome Hans, who is widely considered the "villain". However, I don't really find him all that evil; I mean yeah, he's a bit of a jerk, but I don't think he's "evil". I mean look at him! How can an adorable face like that POSSIBLY be considered "evil"?!?!????!?!? It makes no sense!!!!!!! :wow

General Land Before Time / Which kind of animation do you prefer?
« on: February 27, 2014, 06:29:02 PM »
I'm getting INCREDIBLY sick of the decline in cartoon animation. I miss the days when the animation world was made up of really talented people, and no computers were necessary. They think it's cheaper and faster to produce movies the way they do (and maybe it is) but I really think that movies like Despicable Me and How To Train Your Dragon should NOT be considered cartoons like they are!  :anger

Silver Screen / Worst Movie Ever!
« on: February 27, 2014, 06:23:40 PM »
Billy Madison was kind of a dumb movie. Master of Disguise (although I loved it when it came out) is kinda dumb too in parts. The one movie I hated when it came out was probably Seabiscuit. That movie was SOOOOOOOO BOOOORRIIINGGG!!!!!!!! :anger I hate horse movies and racing usually is super boring (in that case it was at least). I was so bored I was walking and running up and down the stairs and my dad had to grab me and discipline me because he was angry that I was annoying everyone. He really shouldn't have blamed me though. I was MISERABLE watching that movie..  :cry

1988 Theatrical Release / Changes you would have made to the film
« on: February 27, 2014, 01:44:37 AM »
I would definitely have made the film longer. There's apparently a lost scene where Littlefoot sneaks off and finds the Great Valley, and he urges the rest on, and accidentally leads them to the cliff above the wasteland where Cera says "This is your Great Valley?" I really wish they would have made it longer. It's way too short a movie. Also, Don Bluth himself wasn't even happy with the final cut of the film.

I'm really not a fan of that Ellie Goulding/Calvin Harris song "I Need Your Love", or that song by Drake "Just Hold On, We're Going Home"  :anger

I don't know about you, but The Land Before Time ITSELF, despite being my favorite movie, scared the HECK out of me when I was little (particularly Sharptooth). I can't tell you how many nightmares I've had in my lifetime about Sharptooth (sometimes I still do  :cry ). I also couldn't watch certain scenes (from later LBT movies for a long time involving Sharpteeth. Sharptooth was actually the very thing that started my fear of carnivorous beasts. I was also scared of the bear in the Fox and the Hound (still am today as well), the T-Rex in Fantasia, and Monstro the whale from Pinocchio. Most children who find Pinocchio scary are scared of when Lampwick turns into a donkey, but  I wasn't upset because I didn't care because at least he wasn't being eaten (However, watching it as an adult, I did find the scene a little bit disturbing.) But the number one thing that scared me was the vicious, humungous, carnivorous whale  :wow

Silver Screen / Top 10 favorite cartoon Disney movies?
« on: February 22, 2014, 12:31:33 AM »
I'm sure that many, if not most, of us love Disney movies. We all more than likely grew up with them. Even the oldest users on here probably grew up watching Disney movies. However, I have always preferred genuine cartoon animation to computer generated movies when it comes to Disney. Anyway, these are my top 10 favorite Disney movies that weren't computer generated:

1) The Little Mermaid- I have always been fond of this movie, from when I was very little, and even as a teenager, which was the phase in which I hated everything! xD (but hey don't we all hate everything at that age?  :p ) I remember when I was 14, I convinced my mom to buy it for me on Amazon, even though she believed I was too old to watch it. I ended up watching it like 60 times in like half a year  :wow to catch up for all the years I had lost from not seeing that movie often enough in my childhood :p .

2) Beauty and the Beast- I remember being kind of scared of the beast, but this movie is one that I've always liked. It has one of the best storylines in the entire Disney universe! :D and it has one of the best Disney romances in my opinion.

3) Pocahontas- I've always had a soft spot for this movie. I remember seeing it when it came out in theaters. I was 4 I think. I remember my mom got me a cassette tape of the songs in the movie with a booklet before the movie ever came out, which caused me to fall deeply in love with the soundtrack of the film.

4) The Jungle Book- Probably the grooviest Disney movie of them all.  :smile I just LOVE the opening song that plays when the beginning credits are shown. It's just so incredibly haunting :idea also, "Bare Necessities" is one of the best Disney songs of all time. :DD I remember my parents used to rent and illegally record most of the Disney movies just so they wouldn't have to buy them :p I loved this movie as a little boy. However, I was very upset when I accidentally dropped the videotape down the stairs and it no longer worked  :cry however, I just re-bought the movie on VHS (and yes, I still use and watch VHS tapes and I love it :p ) so it's all good. :smile

5) Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs- There are a few on this list that are like guilty pleasures to me. However, I have never felt guilty about liking this movie, especially since it was actually Walt Disney's very first movie.

6) Pinocchio- Now this one IS a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. However, I remember watching it in my teens and I found it slightly annoying. However, watching it a couple years ago as an adult made me feel extremely happy inside :') I think I actually enjoyed it more as an adult than I ever did as a kid I think.

7) Fantasia- Just an all-out, epic, wonderful MASTERPIECE that Walt Disney created. It's not my favorite, but it definitely deserves a spot in my top 10. My favorite scene (though I'm still scared to watch it  :oops ) is the dinosaur scene. I just love dinosaurs :DD (hence, why I've always loved The Land Before Time of course)

8) 101 Dalmatians- You have no idea how much I was OBSESSED with this movie when I was in 1st grade! :wow I remember I had really cheap 101 Dalmatians shoes, and the soles kept coming lose, and my neighbor was kind enough to fix them with her hot glue gun a few times before I eventually had to throw them away.

9) Bambi- another guilty pleasure of mine. For me, this movie, like most movies in fact, I much prefer to watch alone. The reason I included this movie in the top 10 is because I like the darkness of it. While many people consider this movie extremely sad (and it is), I actually like it for that reason. Also, the use of the invisible "Man" as the main villain was actually one of the things that makes it unique from all other films.

10) The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh- I was going to put The Lion King as my number 10, but I actually find that movie pretty overrated, plus I've seen it so many times. However, Winnie the Pooh was a favorite of mine growing up. I used to have the stories separately "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree", "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day", "Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too" all on VHS (which is basically the same as the entire feature :p ) but I also had another one called "Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore" which I loved just as much as the first three. Around the time I rewatched Pinocchio, I rewatched these as well and I DEFINITELY enjoyed them more as an adult than as a child :DD

Honorable mentions: Lady and the Tramp, The Lion King, Sleeping Beauty (which we never saw much of because my sister was afraid of the dragon part when she was little :lol), Aristocats, and Oliver and Company

I just love this song because it's so much fun to sing. :lol While seals do NOT go "Ow! Ow! Ow!" and Foxes actually make tons of sounds that so NOT sound anything like "WA PA PA PA POW PA POW!" or "AH HE AH HE AH HEEW!" and most DEFINITELY do not say "EERING DING DA DING DA DING DA DING!", it's still an amazingly catchy song and I love it  :smile

Hobbies and Recreation / Misc. Hobbies
« on: December 15, 2013, 12:35:48 AM »
My hobbies are playing music and listening to it as well. I sing and play guitar. I was also in choir throughout high school and 2 semesters in college.

Another hobby I have, although I never get to do it anymore :cry , is traveling. I've only been out of the United Stated once, and that was to the Bahamas and I hated it! :anger last real vacation I had was when I went to Maine to visit my relatives. I love flying on airplanes. Places in America I want to visit: Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City (even though I've been there before I wanna go again <3), Boston, Chicago, Memphis, Nashville. Places OUTSIDE America I want to visit: The UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Greece, Australia.

I also love fitness. I exercise regularly; weightlifting and running are my 2 favorite things to do. Exercise has also turned me into a really big nutrition need xD  :smile I remember I lost 20 pounds after cutting soda out of my diet, and that's how that started.

Edit: I also love clothes shopping. <3

Silver Screen / Funniest Quotes You've Heard
« on: October 16, 2013, 07:55:19 PM »
Just need to list some Mean Girls quotes here:

"And none for Gretchen Weiners. Bye."

"Sorry, we only carry sizes 1, 3, and 5. You could try Sears."

“I don’t hate you because your fat. You’re fat ëcause I hate you!”

“One time, she punched me in the face. It was awesome.”

"“Why should Caesar get to stomp around like a giant, while the rest of us try not to get smushed under his big feet? What’s so great about Caesar? Hmm? Brutus is just as cute as Caesar. Brutus is just as smart as Caesar. People totally like Brutus just as much as they like Caesar. And when did it become okay for one person to be the boss of everybody, huh? Because that’s not what Rome is about. We should totally just stab Caesar!”

“So if you’re from Africa, why are you white?”

“Gretchen, I’m sorry I laughed at you that time you got diarrhea at Barnes & Nobles. And I’m sorry for telling everyone about it. And I’m sorry for repeating it now.”

“Whatever, I’m getting cheese fries.”

Something really funny I heard on Modern Family:

Gloria: "OK, Manny, remember, as soon as you land, watch out for Malaria."
Manny: "Why? I got a shot for that."
Gloria: "I'm talking about your cousin Malaria. She's coming to pick you up, but she might have Rubella."
Manny: "What?"
Gloria: "That's her daughter, but make room in the car because she could have Diptheria.
Manny: "Who's Diptheria?"
Gloria: "Manny, diptheria is a disease! That's why I want you to be apart from her in the car!"

 :lol

A few from Glee:

"I'll need to see that set list for Sectionals after all. I want it on my desk warm from the laminator at 5:00 P.M., and if it is one minute late, I will go to the animal shelter and get you a kitty cat. I will let you fall in love with that kitty cat. And then, on some dark, cold night I will steal away into your home and punch you in the face!"  :lol

Rachel: "I want my allowance back right now!"
Brittany: "It’s already gone. My uncle lost his job and his goat was going hungry. So I spent it on food for the goat. I mean, sort of. The goat just ate the money."

"I don't brush my teeth, I rinse my mouth out with soda after I eat. I was pretty sure Dr. Pepper was a dentist."

Kitty: "My iced latte is too cold."
Kurt: "It's an iced latte."
Kitty: "It's an iced latte that's too cold!"

From Pitch Perfect:

Whenever Aubrey says "Aca-Scuse Me?" :lol
