Recording the screen while gaming takes quite a bit of power.  Any modern i-series processor or AMD FX with at least 4GB of RAM and a decent video card are pretty much requirements to get smooth recording while gaming.  Even then you might experience lag from time to time.  If you're trying to do this on an older Core 2 Duo or AM2/+ processor with DDR2 RAM and an older graphics card, you'll probably have issues.  If your rig is older than that, forget it completely man.

I just saw an ad for "Bigger Breast Cream".
I don't understand life.
It just goes to show you that the vast majority of people are extremely stupid.  It makes me embarrassed to be called a human.  Oh yeah!  Spread this cream on your breasts and they'll increase in size at least 27%!  Or how about you put this belt around your fat stomach and hit the button, and you'll magically lose weight in less than 30 days?  Or how about this?  Pay is $999 and we'll show you a way to make HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars overnight!?  The stupidity of the general population is incredible to me.

Y'all may have heard of this: a guy marries a plushie of Twilight Sparkle. He acts like Twilight's completely real. It's like one of those "delusion fics" I'm a fan of brought to life.

I want to laugh at him for being so obesessed with the show, but at the same time, the guy clearly has serious mental health issues. And I'd feel like shit for making fun of someone with a mental illness.
He's not mentally ill.  He's just a pervert that thinks he should broadcast his perversions all over the world.  Though I do suspect narcissism to be a large part of this.  A perverted narcissist.  Well, sadly there are many people like him.  They just don't publicize it.

I mean, seriously.  Diaper fetishes?  That's a perversion that's shared by far too many people.  F*cking sick. :x Sometimes I have a real problem associating myself with this fandom.

Computer and Electronics / How much is X Site Worth?
« on: July 22, 2013, 02:05:41 PM »
There are literally hundreds of sites just like this.  They use an incredibly primitive and outdated algorithm from the 1990's.  It's basically just like pulling a number out of your ass and putting a $ sign in front of it.  They make money from ad revenue and every idiot website owner that says "oh look, my site is worth $X,XXX!" and links to it, thereby bringing free people to the website and generating revenue for the owner of the website valuer.

Case in point, according to this site, a website that I started years ago and never did anything with is worth $6,210:

http://www.webpricerr.com/show.php?url=htt...indgroomers.com

I just registered this domain name, threw up a basic HTML template, and let it sit for 3 years.  If that's all it took to make a $6k website, I'd be a billionaire by now. :p

The Fridge / Boy or Girl
« on: July 20, 2013, 12:16:37 AM »
Male.  I've been around a long time, but there are quite a few new faces and I don't post as much as I used to.  So in case there was any question of it.....I'm male.

I've always thought there should be a male/female thing under the avatar.  It shouldn't be required, but should be an option to select when signing up (or you can change it in your profile).  Does Invision offer an option like that?

The Fridge / Online friends vs Physical friends
« on: July 15, 2013, 07:04:47 AM »
I've always preferred the company of females and have had mostly female friends in real life.  The only downside to this is the misunderstandings.  People always think you're "going out" and they look at you differently.  What's worse is when the girl tries to make it into something like that.  Since I'm not interested in that sort of thing and it makes it VERY awkward afterwards, I've lost a few friends that way.  It really sucks.  So I try talking to the girl after we've been friends for a while about the fact that I'm not interested in that sort of thing, then she either thinks I'm gay and "just in the closet" or just a social outcast and doesn't want to be around me anymore.

Now that I'm an adult it's even worse because many women my age are either married or have boyfriends, and they never understand their wives/girlfriends having another guy around that's just a friend.  It's all just a complete and total mess. :( I've pretty much given up on RL friends.

The Fridge / Online friends vs Physical friends
« on: July 06, 2013, 04:06:47 AM »
100% of my friends are online.  They pretty much always have been.  I can count all the real life friends I've ever had in my life on one hand.  It's just that, nice people are so few and far between.  I mean TRULY nice people with no ulterior motives that really care about others.  NOT the people that are so good at faking it.  I can spot a fake a mile away and unfortunately, 99.99999% of people are just.......selfish and nasty on the inside.  Most people are EXTREMELY good at faking it.  But I want someone that's truly nice and truly cares about others.  I can't speak about people from other countries as I don't have much experience there, but here in America people are really selfish and self absorbed.

I have my teammates in the hacking community and such, but anonymity is the #1 concern so I can't even ask what country they're from.  Not that it matters.  I'm sure I know people from all races and all walks of life.  But I'll never know it and I'll never really meet them in person.

People from GOF are pretty diverse, but honestly I've drifted away from the community over the years.  Sure I still post and such, but things just aren't what they used to be.  Having no friends in real life can be lonely sometimes.  Maybe I'll find a friend in real life someday, but I have no idea how I'd do that.  I guess posting in the CL section under "strictly platonic" may work, but I'm terrified that despite the section they'd want it to turn into something else, which I'm just not interested in.  *sigh*  Oh well. :(

Well seeing as I just had a sex change and grew a pair of wings, I think I'd be out of it for a while.  But after I recovered from the shock, I suppose I'd try to do a sonic rainboom. :D

I don't think I'd watch it.  You see, unlike Star Trek, what makes LBT actually LBT is the characters, not the universe (or in other words environment or setting).  That's true with most children's shows.  The focus is always the characters rather than the setting or story (at least with GOOD children's shows).

Computer and Electronics / My computer is broken
« on: June 24, 2013, 05:50:48 AM »
^Unfortunately that's not true.  When you boot a live CD, it loads the necessary files directly into memory (RAM) and doesn't even access your hard drive.  Even if you're backing up files or whatever, the damaged part of the drive could be where your Operating System files are, which is making your system slow.  A hard drive is the only hardware device in your computer that would cause slowness if it's bad and unfortunately that's the one thing that can't be ruled out by booting from a live CD.

Your best bet is to run the program I linked to in my previous post.  It's a Windows application so make sure to boot into Windows first.

Computer and Electronics / My computer is broken
« on: June 23, 2013, 04:53:11 AM »
There are several reasons your computer could be so slow.  None of them are good.  There are more possible causes than what I list here, but the top one's are probably:

1.  Some idiot there decided to give your computer a "tuneup" and messed things up.
2.  They did the wrong procedure on your computer because they got it mixed up with someone else's
3.  Some dishonest shops will take your original good hard drive and replace it with a failing hard drive.  They copy all the information EXACTLY as it was.  With a pair of USB 3.0 docks, it can be done in less than 2 hours.  I should know I do it all the time (the procedure itself, NOT stealing client's good hard drives).  It's called mirroring.  The bad dying hard drive read/write speed is usually significantly less than a good working drive and can cause severe slowness.
4.  Your computer could have been mistreated while in the shop.  A small amount of physical shock is enough to damage most hard drives.  Check it with this utility:

http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDi...fo/index-e.html

It's the simplest and most user-friendly technician level hard drive diagnostic tool available.

In the future it's best to do the following before taking your computer in for service:

1.  Make sure to shop around for a REPUTABLE shop.  Check reviews on Google, Yelp, YellowPages.com, etc.
2.  Write down the specs on your computer.  Be sure to include processor speed and type (i.e. AMD A10-6800K 4.4Ghz APU), amount of RAM, and hard drive size.
3.  Open up your computer and visually inspect each component.  Write down serial numbers on the hard drive and look at the brands of your hard drive and RAM.  Take a picture as evidence in case they try swapping parts on you.
4.  Write the specs of your computer on a sticky note along with your name and contact information and put it on your computer.  It acts as a deterrent to would-be thieves if they know that YOU know what your specs are.  It also keeps your contact info right on the computer just in case they lose your contact information.

The Fridge / Flash Flood!
« on: June 23, 2013, 04:34:38 AM »
Man, Minnesota just had some severe flash flooding.  Three people have died so far and over 150,000 people are without electricity right now.  Thankfully it hasn't really affected me and my family other than some possible hail damage to one of our cars.  The important thing is your snake is okay.  Belongings can easily be replaced, but she cannot.

Personally I love XBOX/XBOX360.  The PS3 is okay I guess and the Wii is awful (though the Wii U is worse).  But it looks like it will be PS4 for me this round.  I won't support this crap.

Silver Screen / The My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic Thread
« on: June 02, 2013, 02:36:39 AM »
I don't know.  One of the things I like about the series is the main characters are ponies.  I don't want to watch some shallow show with twisted alternate-universe human-hybrid things that resemble the mane 6.  First Princess Twilight and now this.  I think they're running out of ideas here.  As sad as it makes me feel, I think the good days of ponies might be at an end.  The first season was amazing.  The second and third seasons were pretty good too.  But this show is quickly turning into a crap-fest.  I hope it doesn't end like this. :(

Frankly I found both the book and the movie from the 70's to be so boring I wanted to kill myself.  I mean honestly they could have made the movie 10 minutes long and the book 30 pages and it wouldn't have lost anything.  Sometimes I think they intentionally pick the WORST books ever written and make them part of the required curriculum in school.

This anti-piracy crap already killed PC gaming.
Well yeah if your sole goal is to pirate games, it's more difficult now (though NOT impossible).  But it's difficult to pirate console games too.  Steam makes it easy to sell your "digital" games.  Just give the new owner your account details.  Make a new account for every game.  Most gamers do this already.  And pirating the stuff is easy as pie if you know what you're doing.

I have my own code of conduct when it comes to piracy.  I'll gladly pirate something I never would have purchased in the first place.  But I will purchase games even at their ridiculous prices so I don't pirate those.  I don't have a lot of experience in pirating games from Steam and such, but I know it can be done.
