The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

"What's the best thing you got from one of your parents?"

Oh that's a hard one. Physically it'd be my eyes (thanks dad ;)). In terms of how they brought me up, responsibility with money comes to mind. As a gift, there are lots of little things, none of which stand out particularly. Perhaps the necklace my mom gave me before I left for the US (to always keep her and dad close to my heart).

Haha the only Tori I know is really not a nice person so I would never use that name for mama longneck personally! But your logic is sound and perhaps we need a good Tori to offset the bad in the real world ;)

I don't really have any headcannon names, but I do enjoy calling Littlefoot Flathead :D

Hey now there's a name I remember :) Welcome back!  Always good to focus on real life when you can, and hopefully things will look up for y'all soon with your mom's new job :)

They seem to have the following as a price:

https://mynintendonews.com/2025/04/02/pre-orders-for-nintendo-switch-2-open-april-9th-in-north-america-priced-at-449-for-standard-sku-499-for-mario-kart-world-bundle/

Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 open April 9th in North America, priced at $449 for standard SKU, $499 for Mario Kart World bundle

But I don't see any official confirmation on that, so I guess we'll see. I'm not pre-ordering either way though so I'll just wait for the thing to come out :)

Goodness, that went on for much longer than I anticipated. Cool console though. Nothing in particular that I'm looking forward to, but that's been the status quo for me for a while now with video games (so that's a me thing :))

Dislikes:
- Their switch 2 demo "game" where you walk around the console and interact with things looks very boring, and is a PAID game? Compared to Astro's Playroom on PS5, which was very fun and free to play, that's just such a boring and bad move.
- No OLED screen :(

Likes:
- I'm intrigued by the mouse
- Coming out relatively soon
- Gamecube support on their online membership. Still not sold on it, but I would love to play the Pokemon games on that platform someday. We'll see if I just use an actual gamecube instead though, or if there are any benefits to the online/emulated version of the game.
- Compatability with many Switch games, neat
- Download play, neat
- Microphone, neat
- Nintendo finally embraces voice chatting as a thing people do lol

Actually it feels like this is the 3DS era for the Switch. Much more complete than it's original counter part. I'm still debating whether or not to get it at launch or to wait for a special edition that I like.

Overall, a very solid presentation.

Hi TAP! Welcome back :D

I too had my cringe teenage years on this forum. Now that I'm in my early 30s I look back on those posts with nostalgia and feel very happy that they are still available to me for reference, since my memory isn't the best.

Hope you've been well!

Yes, at the moment no one is interested in responding.

People will respond if they are interested in responding. No need to bump topics in this way.

Hey Nick! Sorry it took so long for me to respond. I really didn't know what to write so I wanted to think things over for a bit.

We are very glad to hear from you. Many of us were concerned about your inactivity.

I am so sorry to hear about the vision loss. I really hope you can get the support needed to learn to work with this very limited vision. If there's anything we can do for you, please let us know.
