Ok, they are both the same species, though they are polar opposites. Yet, that is possible in a family.
Suppose these two characters do turn out to be related:
If they indeed are and Littlefoot and Chomper found this out, it would mean.
1.) A relative of Chompers killed Littlefoot's mother.
2.) Littlefoot & Co. killed a relative of Chomper's.
Could their friendships survive such a bad revelation or would they be plotting each other's ends if this is true and is revealed?
Or, do you believe that Sharptooth is actually related to this guy:
And hence Littlefoot and Chomper both are enemies of that family of Sharpteeth and perhaps it could strengthen their friendship with this commonality rather than possibly weaken it?
Or, do you think that there is no relation between Chomper, Sharptooth, and Red Claw whatsoever?
It could get dark indeed if the first one turns out to be true and they all, Chomper included, are fearful that Chomper will turn out just like him as he gets older.
Or, do you think that it is Chomper and Red Claw who are related and that that might be a motive for Red Claw to have been after Chomper?
The chances of there being some relation between some, if not all, of the three, is reasonable enough to believe.
