Petrie, how about my new one? It's three height=80 and length=180? Their small animations.

Yes, but do you REALLY need three animated pictures?  One is more than plenty.

Please remember the signature guidelines and adapt your signatures to them everybody whose signature is significantly higher than recommended in the guidelines.

Of course you can ask :)
Some years ago there had been a couple of LBT song projects on the GOF. Our music expert Tim (action9000) created the background melodies of several LBT songs. Then members of the GOF sang the respective song at home and recorded the singing on their computers. Then we all send our song files to Tim who put them together to create files of LBT songs sung by GOF members and LBT fans from all over the world. Everyone who participated in the creating of such a song by singing, recording and sending the recording to Tim got such a badge for the song which he or she was permitted to add to the own signature.
In the end we did the songs
Always There
Bestest Friends
Family
If we hold on together (by my opinion this was not only our first but also the song that turned out best)
The lone dinosaur
No one has to be alone
On your own
Things change
Here is a link to a thread in which you can see who sang in which song and the thread also includes another link to the songfiles if you would like to listen to our singing ;)

Everyone please remember the signature guide lines. Some signatures are so high that it requires really a lot of scrolling over signatures covering most of a screen.
Please remember that the images in a signature ought not to be more than 250 pixels high total. In case of long texts or poems it might be possible to format it in a way to avoid too high a column of text. Everyone whose signauture (pictures and / or text) cover a large part of the screen with a hight of significantly more than 250 pixels, please change your signatures accordingly :yes

Everybody remember the signature guidelines please.
Of lately oversized signatures kept cropping up. Signatures so high that they fill half a screen or more are a nuisance forcing readers to scroll more than necessary to just read a thread.
Everybody whose signatures do not match the rules please adapt them accordingly.

The signature guidelines are being ignored by some people.
We don't mean to be nitpickers, but for members with a slower internet connection signatures of huge filesize can be a real nuisance slowing down the loading of pages considerably. More annoying even are signatures which are huge not (only) in filesize but in space covered by them forcing a lot of scrolling in threads in which the respective members post.

The guidelines of a signature size of roughly 250x600 pixels have been lined out here. With the width of the signature it doesn't matter too much so long it doesn't impose the necessity of sideway scrolling on the other users.
However, it should be clear that these guidelines are meant to refer to the overall size of the signature rather than permitting for several images and text lines to be stacked on top of each other thus by far exceeding the size.
Easy ways to reduce the size of signatures include:
1. reducing the size of images used (obviously).
2. in case of multiple images being used puting them in one line rather than stacking them.
3. deleting the multiple empty space

lines that pose a rather

unnecessary waste of

signature space while serving

no real purpose.

The admins ask everybody on the GOF to check your signatures and reduce their size if necessary within the next three days.
Those of you whose signatures exceed the guide lines please spare us and yourself the work and frustration of having to PM you about it.

Aye, do. At the moment your signature covers up almost an entire screen.
Everyone else whose signatures by far exceed the rules, please do the same now.

And even though awards are largely exempt from the guidelines (to avoid an award becoming a nuisance for the winner in case he or she would have to upset the entire signature in order to add the award and not violate the rules) we appeal to those of you who won several awards to consider putting some of them side by side rather than stacking them up.

This is the final day for everyone whose signature exceeds the guide lines and file size or in hight to fix their signatures. The oversized signatures can cause real problems for people with slow connections, small resolutions or anyone using smaller screen devices to browse the GOF. We therefore appeal to you to fix it on your own and spare us and yourselves the work and awkwardness of PMing those whose signatures exceed the guidelines tomorrow.
The admins reserve the right to change oversized signatures themselves if the owners of the signatures fail to do so even after being PMed, but in that case we may consider sanctions as well for the obvious deliberateness in breaking the guide lines. Please spare yourselves and us the resulting trouble and awkwardness.

The last time someone said something in this thread was 6 years ago!!!  In that time, while we have had ultra 4K monitors come along, many members use their mobile devices and tablets to browse.  A huge signature is still very distracting.  Please keep your signatures small or you will still get emails from admins despite the advance in technology.  :exactly

Just FYI I keep signatures setting to “off” in my profile so I never see them, because I don’t always use a big screen and I don’t want to be scrolling endlessly past signatures on an ipad. ^^

Duly noted. I don't have a signature at the moment, but if/when I get one I'll make sure it isn't too big.
