I am sorry. I don't want to make GoF a new LJ, but I felt I had to get this off my chest. It's just, here's the thing. I like to write. I LOVE to write, but I don't feel I can do it write. So when I get the urge to write something, I just shrug it off. I know it won't be something that anyone would even bother to look at. This just hurts me so much. I feel like a piece of my dies each time. I have many stories, but I am never satisfied with them, so I just throw them away. They all eventually just die and fade away. Like I said,  a piece of me dies with them. I end up hating myself for it, but there is nothing that I can do. I feel so...tormented...

I am sorry for bothering you all with this...

But if you never showed off your work, how can you be so sure that no one would read it?

Oh, I've shown off my work plent of times. I did get a few good reviews...but when I'm looking back at the work it's either:

1. Too short
2. Not descriptive enough
3. too much forced description.
4. Just is plain stupid.

Hmm. Then maybe you could take some of their advice. I've read short stories before. They were generally only 5-6 pages long.

And I do understand the "not descriptive enough" and "too much forced description". When writing, you do need some level of description. But you also have to be careful not to be too descriptive. One of my reading teachers said that you shouldn't dedicate an entire page to describing a single object.

If you enjoy writing, then you should write, and display your work so that others can offer you helpful advice to improve. You'll never get any better at writing if you just stop.

I know. I want to right, really. I just don't feel I can do a very good job at it. I guess my dad was right, I am not cut out for this field...it's too competitive for me...

I don't think you should give up. If you love writing as much as you say you do, then you should keep writing.

As a fellow wirter I know how it feels to lose insperation, or think a change is nesseary sometimes I just quit too, but then a new idea hits me and I feel so inspired that I just have to get it down on paper!

Just stick with it and keep the ideas flowing, again I would absolutly love to read and review one of your stories! :^.^:  :yes

Well, this is a point I thought about many times. I think every story have something good. Some people like long storys, some people short and some people like storys with many or not so much description. I love it too to write storys, but only in german :D  and all of my storys were at their way good. For an excample, I gave one of my story my mum to read. She said it isn¥t a good story. I was a bit sad of that. Than I gave the story my dad and he was surprised. He sad this was a really good story my son. Go on with your work. So you see, every people have another meaning about storys. I think you should not give up. I would be glad to see a story from you sometime in the forum.

And remember, you never bothering us with anything. Everyone here write his or her problems here, and we are always glad to help :yes
