Oh, I have lots going on this week.

Last Friday (the 6th), my brother and I went out to our father's house for sort of a pre-birthday BBQ (as my brother's birthday is only two days from mine). My dad and his girlfriend live in a small town about twenty minutes outside of the city where my bro and I live, but it's a pleasant drive out there. Dad also said he wants to do an actual birthday celebration with each of us, so I told him I'd like to stay a weekend at his and his girlfriend's house sometime soon. Then the following day (the 7th), my brother generously offered to treat me to a birthday lunch, so we ate out at a restaurant of my choosing.

Earlier today, my mother and I hung out at the university for a while (a tradition of ours). Tomorrow, her and I are going out hiking in a nearby city. The next day, Friday, Mom is having a birthday supper for both me and my brother. On Saturday, I'm having another birthday celebration supper with Mom and a couple of our friends. Then on Sunday, my brother and I are having brunch at our step-mother's house.

On the actual day of my birthday however (the 10th), I didn't really do anything. I mostly just stayed at home, ate bacon and cake, and slept in.

You know, usually endings like that leave you disappointed or sad. But in this case, it was a satisfying conclusion in my opinion. Spending the whole day relaxing by yourself, eating your favorite treats, and sleeping in was the perfect way to spend time on your birthday. I'm serious, by the way.

The only downside is that, last week when I was out of town at my dad's house, I might have picked up some sort of bug. I've been feeling rather tired and low on energy these past several days. Oh well, hopefully I can get caught up on my sleep again soon.

Thanks. I think at this point I've gotten past the bug or flu or whatever it was. I just need to get my sleep schedule back on track now.
