Denton looked at Longtail, still slightly shook up from his first major adventure
"I guess it'll just take some getting used to." he said and he tried to break a smile
just then a familiar voice broke the wind "Denton? My child, I've been so worried about you!"
"Mother!" cried Denton and he ran to meet her, she was amongst the other grownups who were discussing the captured sharptooth.
She lowered her head for him and he nuzzled up against her.
"I'm glad your okay. My dear Denton." she said calmly.
"It was my new friends who saved me, momma." said Denton, he smiled and turned to look at the other children
"You were right about them..." he said looking back up at his mother "They would treat me as if I were one of their own."
"I'm glad you've learned this, child." said his mother with a smile. "I was beginning to fear you'd never leave the nest."
Denton smiled and nuzzled some more. Soon he'd rejoin with his new friends and as the time progressed, so did many new adventures. He'd learn more about the Great Valley and those who lived their. He'd learn new games, even learn songs as well as to fight his own shyness.
Though meanwhile, a lone dark figure would be contemplating and plotting a terrible event that could destroy the bliss of the valley.
Blackclaw's Revenge would come soon.
To be continued...
