Making several topics for the voice-over project to create better visibility and hopefully blow some new life into it. In this topic: How to record yourself for the voice-over project

First of all, you'll need to know WHAT to say. For that we have created a script of lines that are said in the first movie:

Script:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1n9Lb5eAjHI7sSLEoIWH3ck69h4fDFeP_WMIwS1WZ6BA/edit

Feel free to practice it a bit off-mic. Play the movie, talk with your character and feel their intonation and speed. Then when you feel ready to record, grab a recording program and a microphone, and get going.

Instructions:

1. Get your microphone and plug it into your computer. Most laptops have build-in mics, but an external mic is almost always better quality.
2. Get Goldwave, a free recording program. Another alternative is Audacity, but I do not have a video of that. Works similarly though.
3. Do a test recording to make sure that your microphone works. One, two, three, hello?
4. Plug in a headset or some ear phones, so that we do not hear the movie in the background as an echo.
5. Talk along with the movie, show the script on your screen or print it if necessary.
6. Save the file as yourname - scene - character.wav. You can also record the entire character for the movie in one go if you're feeling ambitious.
7. Send the files to me by email or WeTransfer to thelionqueen@live.nl
8. Have fun  :D

If you have any questions about this process, please feel free to message me or ask them here.

Can you also do the recording on your phone if you don’t have a laptop

Definitely, phones should be advanced enough for that these days. Just use your built-in voice recorder :)
