« on: October 09, 2014, 09:48:14 AM »
I came across this article while surfing the web.  Interesting that they found some ancient cave art in Asia and not just Europe.   I guess it shows humans were equally creative all over.

I came across this earlier today and thought some here may find it interesting.  It is about some events during the era of the civil war that happened.  Listing events from October 5 through the 26th.  I thought it best to copy just the link instead of the entire article.

« on: February 17, 2014, 11:11:54 PM »
I read this article, I think yesterday, on another forum.  It's about a Confederate POW camp in South Carolina that was used to house Union Officers.  The archaeologists have only till the end of April to dig at the site.

History Section / 1906 San Francisco film clip
« on: February 17, 2014, 10:59:19 PM »
I was on another forum this morning and in one of their threads they had a 9:15 minute silent movie made in San Francisco.  After someone did research he was able to figure out that it was shot 4 days before the 1906 earthquake.  I find it interesting since you can see what the early 20th century was like in a major city.   I thought some here may be interested in seeing it.

Gamers Zone / Indy Consoles
« on: May 23, 2013, 02:02:09 AM »
I read about 2 consoles I've not heard of before that should be out this year.

The Gamestick is supposed to be out July 6 and is priced at $79.

The Ouya is supposed to be out June 25th and is priced at $99.

& the much more pricy Nvidia Shield supposed to be out June 4th and is priced at $350, though it looks like a handheld touch screen.  Sorta like the nintendo ds is a handheld touchscreen console.

I think it's interesting that 3 indy consoles will be out soon and 2 of them are not very expensive.

The Fridge / Finally Back
« on: March 04, 2011, 11:08:14 PM »
Just finished moving a short distance and was without the internet since Tuesday afternoon.  Thought Id have time to get on here and tell but they turned the phone off within a minute of my hanging up the phone with the phone company.  Nice surprise is instead of not having the internet Monday like they said, I got it back today.

Though I guess it'll take me a day or 2 to get caught back up in the rp's I"m in.  Better though then if I had to wait till Monday.  Some of my muscles are tired, especialy my forearms, so I'll not fell like typing a lot for a day or 2 I guess.

The Fridge / New Dinosaur
« on: September 01, 2010, 03:35:46 PM »
I was looking something up on wikipedia and saw there an article under news about a discovery of a dinosaur that was not known before.  It's similar in build to the Velociraptor called at Balaur.  The Wikipedia article is at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balaur_(dinosaur)

There are some other web sites that talk about it.

Random Role Play / Dinosaucers
« on: June 18, 2009, 11:58:01 PM »
Allo sat down, watching his grandchildren play with some of their friends.  He wondered where the time had gone at times.  He could remember his daughter playing as a toddler.  Now she was married with her own kids.  At times he wondered if he'd get to see her grow up while he was on the earth.

Just then his grandkids started to gather around him.

"Can you tell us a story?" one of them asked, some others agreeing with a yes, or a "story, story."

Allo laughed, "All right, which story would you like to hear?" He asked looking at them.

"How about the earth." One of the kids said.

"Yea, you were there like forever." one of the kids said.

"It did seem that way at times." Allo said laughing a bit.

"Yea, before there many billions of years ago." Another said.

Allo laughed again, "Not quite that long ago, though it does seem like that at times."

The kids gathered around in front of Allo.  He thought for a moment.  Some of his friends he had not heard from in quite a while, and not just the ones from the earth, but a few here also.  Including the former secret scouts who had chosen to move to Reptilon, a thing he'd not have suspected any would want.  Not that they all did, most did not.

"It started one night.  We had gone to Earth since the Group of Tyrannos lead by Rex had headed there and we had to stop them.  I had gathered a group myself of Dinosaucers and a few part time Dinosaucers and went to the earth.  Unknown to me at that time our Mothership had been seen by a group of teenage humans.  But I'll come to that in all due time." He said pausing a moment before he continued his story....

Silver Screen / Favorite Tv Shows
« on: March 13, 2009, 09:51:59 PM »
Thought since 1 other person and 1 admin seemed to think the thread idea was ok I'd do this.  Maybe sharing some favorite openings or clips of your favorite shows, including or especially ones watched as a kid or not seen for years, nostalgic, happy memories ect.  Though maybe it's a bad idea or spammy and other admin may not like it.   Maybe also posting them in your preferred language for nostalgic reasons as well.  I may post some others later, rather then posting 20 or 50 introductions at once.

Though some or the majority of admin may  not like this thread idea, if so feel free to lock or delete it.

i do have a vague memory of seeing this introduction, rather then the more famous other intro which I remember far better since it's the one that's been used over the years.

Season 1 of Wonder Woman (this was set in ww2 and didn't take itself to seriously, unlike seasons 2 and 3 which took themselves totally seriously):

General Land Before Time / Odd Facts of the LBT World
« on: September 16, 2008, 04:26:19 AM »
I thought of doing this topic, a sorta non serious one. It's basically what if the various animation and other mistakes in the movies and maybe tv series are true and not mistakes.

Like we know from the 4th movie Ali can travel long distances very quickly and apparently take some others with her.

and the 10th movie that Shorty is immune to damage from being stepped on, even by something as large as a full grown T-rex.

as seen in the 11th movie Skitter seems mainly undamaged by something falling on him.

As seen in The Starday Celebration episode at least some sweet bubble vines can regrow the sweetbubbles a few seconds after the sweet bubbles on them are eaten.

and as seen in The Great Log Running Game song So Mad there are some yellowish treesweets that will vanish if a domehead is not near them.

 :lol
