I'm not really sure what is going on. But I'll try to explain as clearly as I can.

Earlier today, around noon my time, I was speaking with Nimrod on MSN. He had disappeared, and reappeared sometime later. He said he had to reboot because he had installed a new version of MSN (upgrade or downgrade?) and he could use Sharing Folders once again. I started to continue the conversation with him, but when Nimrod was trying to type in a message, my computer rebooted.

Startled me, but nothing I haven't seen before. With my 80 GB computer this became a common occurance. So anyway, the computer loads back up and I get a a message stating that a serious error had occurred. I decide to run HijackThis just to see if I had a certain entry that I have been told, many times, causes reboots. Sure enough I did and removed it, thinking that is the end of my problem.

I get back on MSN and once again try to speak with Nimrod. A few seconds later, the same reboot ocurred. I load the computer back up and the same error message comes up. I became supicious. Both times, when the computer rebooted, I had Nimrod's IM window open. I start to think that something with Nimrod's MSN is messing with my computer, but I'm not so sure because it seems weird that that could be causing any problems.

To figure out if something else was causing the problem, I first run Ad-Aware and Panda. I don't find anything suspicious there. I run EasyCleaner to see if anything suspicious appeared in the Registry. Nothing out of the ordinary. I also run Disk Cleanup to free up some space. After the scans picked up nothing out of the ordinary, I start to test a few programs one by one. I test Opera, AIM, Yahoo, and a couple others. No error occurred. No reboot happened.

I then test MSN. I had expected it to reboot not long after I sign on, but to my surprise, nothing happened. The program loaded up just fine with no problems. For the next several hours, I was able to have conversations with a few other people on my buddy list without incident. To be on the safe side, I temporarily blocked Nimrod until I felt ready to test his IM window.

When I felt ready, I unblocked Nimrod and sent him an IM. I went away to the kitchen to get something to eat. I returned only seconds later to find the computer had, indeed, rebooted. This confirmed my suspicions. Something about Nimrod's MSN is causing my computer to reboot. It only happens to me when his IM window is open. It is not just MSN that crashes. It's my entire computer. A complete reboot.

I had to block Nimrod once again, but not because I am angry with him. It is just to protect my computer from another reboot. I am in no way blaming Nimrod for this. I am very confused as to what is going on. Could he have gotten a corrupted version of MSN and that is causing the reboots? Maybe there's something wrong with the Sharing Folders? I hope to resolve this problem soon. I didn't want to block Nimrod, but until I can figure out what is going on, I had no choice.

EDIT: I almost forgot to add this in. Nimrod, when you see this, could you answer this question for me: What are you doing just before I go offline? Were you typing a message? Were you trying to send me something in the Sharing Folder? I'm asking this because maybe it can help identify the problem.

That is a very interesting problem you have there. My only uess would be that someting's up with his IP address that whenever you two connect it reboots. I agree with the fact that none of this is Nimrod's fault, so this could be a possibility.

Well as far as I know Nimrod told me that he was experienced problems with the msn sharing folders. I suggest him to downgrade from 8.5 to 8.1. Seems that this works I’m not sure I didn’t have the opportunity to chat with him. Maybe this thing about the sharing folders problem is connected with your reboots becuase he is the only one that makes your pc reboot on msn.

I have to ask him what he done in his pc.

Well, that¥s right I downgraded my MSN version to 8.1. And always, if you got online I wrote you a message before in MSN. I can upgrade my version to 8.5 again and we could see if that will work than

MSN 8.5 beta is full of errors, but I heard that it was created because 8.1 had some major security holes in it.  I wouldn't recommend using MSN 8.1 for any reason.  If you have messenger 8.5 beta, get that off.  It was a piece of crap.  They now have the real version of MSN 8.5 available for download.

As for the rebooting problem, please follow these steps:

right click "my computer"

Click on "properties"

click the "advanced" tab

Then uncheck "automatically restart":

Click "Ok" in the two windows.

Try to get the computer to crash again and you should get the "blue screen of death".  This is only a bad thing for those who can't interpret it.  I need you to write down the long string of numbers at the bottom of the screen when it crashes as well as some other details.

You should get something like this.  I need the information in the places I circled in red on the image:

The problem has returned. Turned out it wasn't a problem originating from Nimrod's messenger. It is coming from my computer. I'm the one with a problem with the Sharing Folders, not Nimrod. That's why it only rebooted why I tried to talk to him, and why no one else appeared effected by it. I had an active Sharing Folder with Nimrod, thus the reboots occur. That's why an older version of MSN prevents the reboot, because the Sharing Folder does not work.

I managed to write down the Stop Error this time.

That's a simple problem, but it cannot be fixed without spending any money.  There is something wrong with your wireless adapter driver.  Try reinstalling the driver.  If that doesn't work, it is in fact a hardware error and you must replace the device.  Are you trying to run a network adapter made for an older operating system on windows xp?  That could cause this error.  Did you get anything on the message that said "IRQ not less or equal"?  You didn't write down everything I requested.  I also requested the little message, not just the stop error.

EDIT:  A registry scan might prove to be helpful.

Should I get the message again and write down everything this time?

Additional information might be helpful.  It might save you some work.  If you can write down all of the information I circled above, I can figure out right away if it's a hardware or software malfunction.  Otherwise, you'll have to play around with drivers and stuff to see.  I hate to say it, but I think it's the wireless adapter itself, not the driver.  I'm guessing there's only a 10% likelihood that it's a driver malfunction and not a hardware related error from your wireless adapter.

Here you go, the entire message.

That is everything that was on the screen. Nothing else showed up.

Yup.  As I suspected, it's a problem with your wifi driver.  Do as it says and look for an updated driver for your wifi device.  If this doesn't work, you must replace the device (meaning throw it away and buy another one.)
