This was put up over 2 months ago.

Priced at $299, which makes it about 15 cents per GB, this is the first of it's kind.  A level of capacity that was said some months ago to be unachievable has been reached.

Whether you're a download freak or someone who constantly gets large files, this is the drive for you.

Only from Western Digital.

Man!  That really sounded like advertising, and I really didn't mean to do that! :slap

As for me, I'm content with what I have.  It'll take me quite some time to fill up the 1 TB I have.

Still, I wanted you guys to see this.  It's hard to believe we got this high. :D

For those that want it, I suggest looking at Amazon and Newegg.  I'm sure you'll find it there. :)

HD's are so 20th century. Hello people, it's the 21st century now!  C'mon and get with the SSD's!  Hard drives can't get much bigger.  SSD's have potentially limitless potential for storage.  When a technology is better than the old stuff, dump the old crap and get on with the new stuff.  I can't believe SSD's are still so expensive. :bang

^^ That's why they use older tech and can offer massive space for so little.  Care to guess how much 2tb of ssd would put you back?

I don't even know about SSD. But I would rather spend money on an HD rather than an SSD. Sometimes it's not worth it to spend a whole lot of extra money, and right now I can't afford to anyway. I have more important things to spend my money on than an SSD.

That is a lot of storage.  I've had bad luck with using hd's as external or extra storage so I"ll stick with discs.  Though I do think that maybe when eventually the price of an ssd comes down it may be a good alternative for a hd for one's primary hd/ssd.

If they actually had them (I'm sure the government does), I'm guessing they'd cost around $800,000.  Of course I'm only guessing.  When a freaking 80gb will set you back $700 I can't even imagine who much 2,000gb would cost.
