Silver Screen / Bowling for Columbine
« on: December 09, 2004, 04:34:45 AM »
Actually, my brother went to Germany for about a year recently, and talked with people about crime in other countries.  America has, by far, the highest rate of crime, for virtually everything.

Apparently the thing about communities in Canada not locking their doors is true--he said that anyone can just walk up to someone's door, open it, and the person inside will just give a friendly "Hello!"  Amazing.

In Germany, too, the crime is much less.  I took a trip there with my father this past summer, for a week, and at night I could walk the streets of Heidelberg without a single fear of being a victim.  Also, everybody seemed well-mannered, minding their own routines and not sticking their noses in other people's business.  I really hate the way some people are in this country.  Just plain jerks.

I tell you, it's like another world over there, and it's awesome because of it.  If I didn't love America's conveniences so much, I'd go live in Germany.  Who knows, maybe I will anyway. :D

Silver Screen / Something that bugs me in Shrek2
« on: December 09, 2004, 04:25:36 AM »
I wasn't really bothered by that scene, but nor did it make me laugh as much as some of the others.  I like this movie just as much as Shrek, if not more so(I've heard there will be two more Shrek films).  Shrek was also infused with adult humor(Shrek: "Do you think maybe he's compensating for something?"), thus the style of the second didn't bother me.

Puss in Boots is definitely my favorite character from Shrek 2, Dragon is my fave from Shrek.  I love Donkey too, in both movies, he's so funny!

Silver Screen / The Worse Movie You Have Ever Seen
« on: December 06, 2004, 11:36:38 PM »
"Half-Baked"--Worst, most pointless movie I've ever had the misfortune of laying my eyes on.  It was on Comedy Central, and I quit watching about halfway through.  Ugh! :p

I don't think the Star Wars prequel movies thus far are that bad: they have their good and bad points, like all movies.  The lightsaber duel with Darth Maul was wicked awesome, and the foreshadowing at the end of AOTC is the best!  I have them both on DVD, along with the original trilogy.  I'm a Star Wars nut :D

Silver Screen / Film Soundtracks
« on: December 06, 2004, 01:05:00 AM »
Holy cats, WeirdRaptor!  And I thought I had tons of soundtracks! :p

I've got a decent collection of soundtracks.  I'll have to go look at them again to make sure I get all of them in my list.

In alphabetical order(soundtrack CDs):

1. Balto
2. Beauty & the Beast(Special Edition)
3. Dante's Peak
4. Die Schone und das Biest(The German version of the Special Edition BatB soundtrack--The German voice actors sound very close to the American ones too, so it's lots of fun to listen to.  My brother got this for me when he was in Germany)
5. Glory(my favorite war movie!)
6. Gremlins 2: The New Batch(still searching for the one to "Gremlins")
7. Jurassic Park
8. 102 Dalmatians
9. Oliver & Company
10. The Passion of the Christ
11. The Prince of Egypt
12. The Lion King
13. Return to Pride Rock(the original soundtrack to TLK II, released back in 1998, not the newer one with less songs).
14. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
15. Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
16. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope(two disc Special Edition)
17. Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back(two disc Special Edition)
18. Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi(two disc Special Edition)
19. Titanic
20. Watership Down

*Hugs her CDs*  I love 'em all, lol! :D

The Welcome Center / Hallo!

Hi, everybody, I met Arvens at another board which he is now leaving, so I decided to come here.  I love TLBT(the first one), although I haven't seen it in a couple years.  It used to be my favorite movie when I was little.  Now my favorite is Watership Down :D .  My screen name is the name of my fan character, inspired by the movie.  I have some pics of her on my WD website, the link's in my profile.

Yada, yada, yada, I talk too much, huh? :p
