I liked how this picture turned out. Scratcher is drawn from total memory though. There is not one single picture anywhere on the net of him, so I have no clue if anything I done with him is right, except him being a raptor.

Now who is Scratcher? He is a character from the old show Dink the Little Dinosaur. He appears in the episode "The Gentle Hunter". Despite having a body of a meat-eater, he has the mind and appetite of a plant-eater. He prefers fruit and other plants over meat. He does try to learn how to be a hunter, but is quickly rejected when he reveals he is friends with a plant-eater. I don't quite recall what happens to him at the end of the episode. I think he goes off to try again to be a hunter at Hunter's Grove (where the meat-eaters liked to hunt apparently), but still retains a friendship with Scat and possibly even the others (Dink, Shyler, Amber, and Flapper).

I thought it would be neat if he and Chomper met. They'd probably be really good friends.  I also don't think Scratcher would ever truly give up his diet of plants after being raised on it for so long. I would not even be surprised if he goes back to his diet of plants.

Chomper looks... different, but I think you've said before that it is hard for you to reproduce the original LBT style. Kudos for the work! :D

How long did it take to do the drawing?
Approximately 10-20 minutes for the drawing and inking, possibly less, plus an additional 20 or so minutes (maybe more or less) for the coloring. It's not accurate because I didn't actually time myself. I'm just guessing.

Gee, I wish I could do that. I have yet to gain sufficient command of Photoshop to do even the easiest tasks with it.

I suppose it is the proportions. Chomper's feet and arms look very muscular and I think the legs are thinner while the arms are less scrawny than they would appear in the movie. Perhaps the neck too would be a bit thinner and shorter in the movie. No offense meant, just suggestions that may help to improve already splendid artwork :)

I thought it would have taken longer.  Do you plan on doing more in the future, either with characters from the show with no cross over, or ones with more cross overs?

Yeah, the LBT style is hard for me. So if Chomper looks, well, unusual, this is due to my style, how I draw certain features. I did notice that some thing sappeared..off, especially the neck. It was supposed to be shorter, but ended up becoming longer when I decided that his head would be turned. And I didn't really notice the legs and arms were the wrong size. It's hard to draw every part in the exact right size.

In the Dink topic somewhere on this board, I did post a swedish episode I found, "Tricera-Scat", where Scat inadvertantly becomes adopted by a herd of Triceratops. Unfortunately, so far, if you want to watch english episodes, you have to order them. There are a couple places that are selling them, such as Amazon.com.

Oh really?

I'll think about it. I am thinking about doing other Dink/LBT "matching characters", characters I think that have similar personalities to one another. The next one I might do would be a pic of Scat and Petrie.

What's going on with you and dink the dinosaur?  You sure have been bringing that show up a lot.  Something going on?  You just got the whole series or something?  Try adding some texture to the picture to make it more realistic, otherwise it's great! :D

What do you mean? I hardly mentioned Dink that much. Just a couple times, not a whole lot.

Anyway I don't like to add texture to a picture. I don't really care about making it "look realistic". The only texture that I used was with the LBT fancomic. I don't really like to add texture. It doesn't look good, in my opinion. Not to mention I don't even know how to do it that well. I can just use a Photoshop effect to add it, but it looks weird, in my opinion.

I have not gotten Dink yet, no.

A background texture is not necessary for a drawing like this.

Personally I love the style that Kacie uses for her drawings. It is like to see the characters in dinosaurian personification. I mean like dinosaurs from movies but with a cartoony style. I don’t see anything wrong with her drawing is a really good and amazing work. I don’t think that she needs to use textures for her drawing is a cartoon not a realistic picture. Kacie good work I want to see more drawings from you.  :^.^:

Well it's just that you haven't mentioned the show at all for a long time and now you're mentioning it and even drawing pictures about it.  I was just wondering what was different or if you had just got it or something.
