1988 Theatrical Release / Thoughts about Rooter
« on: June 26, 2011, 07:17:09 PM »
^
Here's a thought.  Maybe Rooter couldn't help Littlefoot find his surviving relatives as since he was quite old, maybe he knew that he couldn't have survived the (*potentially futile search*) for relatives of a small dinosaur that was (again in keeping with what Littlefoot's mother said that all the dinosaurs stuck with their own kind) not of his kind.  Which of course will sound absolutely horrible but hey if Rooter was going to crawl off and die then it was obviously much kinder of him to leave Littlefoot rather than force him to suffer further.  Although maybe in another thought, Rooter might have thought that Littlefoot's relatives were close by and thus just left him and so his advice was merely passing in kind; yet that latter part may seem quite unlikely...

Anyway, enough of morbid theories...

Whilst I do like Rooter, I wouldn't go as far as to describe his character as 'great'.  Especially since he was stuck in during late production.  He does give some very deep meaning advice which does carry the overall theme of the film but he was used as a softner to the blow that had happened in the previous scene with death being the major factor.  So the idea of and I quote fully;

''
Oh, it's not your fault. It's not your mother's fault. You pay attention to old Rooter. It is nobody's fault. The great circle of life has begun, but, you see, not all of us arrive together at the end.

....But she'll always be with you, as long as you remember the things she taught you. In a way, you'll never be apart, for you are still part of each other. ''

Anway, the whole meaningful message that Rooter gives to Littlefoot (and the audience) is that although death seperates, loved ones are always with you and death is a part of life...etc.

1988 Theatrical Release / Most heart-wrenching moment?
« on: June 26, 2011, 07:05:46 PM »
You can not just have one  of the 'most heart wrenching moments' as a choice.  Personally for me the 'heart wrenching moments' are when Littlefoot loses his mother; which is fairly obvious and when he sees her shadow and thinks that she's still alive.  Although really the whole movie is quite sad and perhaps then gives the usual messages of hope and what not, that are so sentimental that it gets across to people.

Proactive:Will have to be for Pangaea.   He's always given helpful information and recently helped to scour his LBT DVD's for screenshots for the awards. He really has given his all into this forum....

I've also had a look at the RPG section;
RPG:  Nick22 is always one who seems to always have an active role in the various role plays.  Not only moderating (as in answering people's questions such as the TLK RP and general guidance) but also coming up with ideas and generally making it fun and enjoyable for others.

Fanart:Vote would have to be for Sky as his artwork is fantastic and is highly skilled.  It is always a great treat to see his artwork and see the improvements that have been made in every piece.:)

Feedback:  Yet again for the second year running, the vote would have to go for Pangaea.  Not only from the well thought out constructive criticism that he has provided people on this forum but for the sheer effort that from the How are you feeling thread, he really does put his all into it.  That is sheer commitment and pure helpfulness to the community.:)

Speaking of which; Helpful Member: Given the amount of effort and commitment that Pangaea puts through in regards to the Feedback, I have to give another vote for him.  It is very rare to find people who are willing to actually to take the time to be helpful in providing the type of feedback that is required.  Not many people can do it, not in the way that Pangy does even if his commitment does tire him out.  Furthering this, from what I have seen he is always willing to offer help to people who require it.:)

Philosopher:  Ah this was a tough call and something which Plato would be proud of.;)
As Malte, TheFriendlySharptooth, DarkHououmon and a couple of others have applied deep and often thought provoking comments that are well thought out and practical for the extent of a good and healthy debate.  However, although I do not really know him that well Jansenov's posts have always tended to be deep and thoughtful.  It will be interesting to see further posts from him in the future.:)

Friendly Member:Ah again, this is rather difficult but in recent terms, I do feel that LBTDiclonius deserves the vote.  Recently we have begun to talk a little bit on IM and she's really kind and bubbly (Friendly; sorry English term) and I can see that even on the forum, no matter what is happening for her.:)

Er, that's it for now. :oops
I'll have to think about the proactive award.
I can't vote for the RPG award though....

Oh gosh yes; also when I am nervous I tend to walk in circles which is rather difficult when legs shake.

because I broke my elbow when I was younger, so basically a good age to break bones as bones aren't fully fused and-
anyway, because I  broke the elbow which was the writing hand, I had to learn how to write with my left.  Nothing much has changed between my writing left and right...since my writing is terrible (spidery) anyway...

Silver Screen / AnimÈ
« on: June 18, 2011, 11:59:27 AM »
Well since I have already asked a similar question in regards to Manga, I thought perhaps it might have been a good idea to start a 'sister' topic on AnimÈ.

Whilst not everyone will enjoy AnimÈ or Manga for whatever reasons, I have found that by discussing certain series with people that there are always the possibility to be introduced with new series.  If any of that makes sense.:p

Sometimes though I do not like the AnimÈ from the Manga series such as Death Note but sometimes the series is much better panned out than the Manga.

Back in the 90's there were such AnimÈ shows like PokÈmon (which is still around but personally there are too many PokÈmon to keep track of), Beyblade and Digimon (although I didn't get into Digimon that much).

My sister who is a massive fan of AnimÈ and Manga introduced me to further AnimÈ shows and the subsequent Manga as well.

So far on her insistance I've watched Soul Eater (Yay!:D), High School of the Dead (I think it is called that?), Loveless (but it wasn't really something that I go the concept of), Hellsing and finally Blue Exorcist; which is pretty awesome so far.  She has showed me others but I haven't watched that many episodes of them since I didn't like them.:p

What about you?

Why is it that certain people put such an emphasis on another relationship status?  Why would it matter if I'm single or not?  And why feel the need to make a poll of it to ask others?

For one thing if people only define others on their relationship status to equate to sucessful in the way that they do have a relationship than that is just shallow and sad.  Sure it may be a good thing to some but to define it as a whole, yeah I know I'm utterly pathetic I don't need that to be pointed out.

And really, I may not want a relationship but I also don't appreciate someone asking people their opinions if I have one or not, after all what has it got to do with them and would it really destroy their miserable lives if I do or do not have one?

I do not understand people at all...
