1988 Theatrical Release / What happened to Cera's mother and sisters?
« on: February 24, 2009, 12:00:09 PM »
I always imagined that Dinah and Dana were blood related of Topsy and a previous elder sibling to Cera, who somehow were either visiting The Great Valley or arrived before 'Grandpa Threehorn'.

Yes.

I have to say, although I haven't been.  I'm beginning to be proud of who I am.  I'm proud to be an Aspie.  I can do many wonderful things if I'm given encouragement and support.

Unless the elves had a teleport device?

Favourite characters in both book and movie verse are:

Sam (For being a true hero and a loyal friend) and Faramir.
Although I do like Sir Ian Mckellen's portrayal as Gandalf.

Favourite characters in Book verse are:

Eomer and Imrahil.

I apologise if this topic has been menitoned but today I was watching The Land Before Time and began to wonderi and evaluate (all the possibilites) where Cera's Mother and sisters where.  Why did they not appear in the Great Valley and participate in reuniting with their lost family member?

If there is an explanation in one of the movie series, then I'm afraid I haven't seen it.  I've only watched from 2 to 10.

My personal opinion is that they somehow died in the earthquake.

I'm relieved to find someone who is similar and is accepting.

A year and a half after the diagnosis, I joined a forum as I don't get much support at home.  My Mother is one of those people who think she can 'stamp' it out of me.  Sister doesn't care about anyone but herself and as for my Dad, he is similar.

My Dad (and grandfather) are the only members of my family who have greatly encouraged my history obsession.

As to the History Channel, I think I have the channel for that.  I know we have National Geographic.  Although when my mum and sister are home, they don't like to watch that.  They prefer to watch hideous television shows like (I apologise in advance for insulting anyone) Paris Hilton's British Best Friend.  Those type of televions shows.

I love Tolkien (not personally), I just enjoy his works.

I've read:

The Hobbit
The Simlarion
The Lord of the Rings
 and the unfinished tales.

As to the movies, there are some parts were I did not like.  For example, the elves at Helms Deep?  How did they get there quick enough (when it took Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli days to reach Rohan) to aid the Rohirrim?

It is one of the traits that I have.  I don't know how people feel on here about autism in general but I have Asperger's (ASD).

History has always been my passion, my obsession.  It isn't modern day history, it used to be dinosaurs and I still like them but I enjoy the ancient civilizations, like I said mainly Roman.

I feel as though my family don't understand me, because I am different from them.  I'm different from my sister and I think my mum sees that and thinks that I should be liking (what she considers) 'normal' interests.

I don't rightly know why the dislike my interest in history.  I guess, it could be because I do talk about it non stop continually almost every hour of the day.

Littlefoot1616, thank you for the welcome.  To answer your question, I moved from England.

Don't apologise (quite ironic isn't it, that I apologise in one thread...ah well) for giving a lecture.  I don't mind lectures.  As an Aspie, I talk about or lecture people about my subject in great detail.

What university are you at and also how long have you been attending the courses?  I am interested since I wish to go to university some time next year (hopefully) and I'd like to know more about the history courses that I would take (and also the process).

I like latin, I can read and understand the meaning.  Just can't speak it.  Like with my german and french.  Although my german is the weaker language of the two.  I  prefer latin though, wish people would speak it nowadays.  Alas, I feel as though I was born in the wrong century.

My interest is the society, mostly women (me being a 'woman' myself) I hold great interest in their daily lives and activites.

I'd also be interested being a paleologist, but I dislike the outdoors.  I'd like to go to Nuchatel here in Switzerland, a prehistoric museum based where one of the Big 'Al's reside.  Big Al (allosaurus).  As, my favourite dinosaur is an allosaurus I think it would be fantastic.  Sadly, my family (although my Dad enjoys it too) which is mostly my sister and mother do not like the whole history aspect.

Oh dear, I'm typing a long biography here....

Thank you for the welcomes Drake and The Chronicler.

Thank you Mumbling for the claryfication.

Also, I play World Of Warcraft.  It's quite good to just relax. I also enjoy reading (which I have mentioned) and I read a variety of fiction and non fiction.

Fantasy
Crime (Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle: Poirot and Holmes.)
Historical
Classics (Homer and many others)

As for Non Fiction,
Prehistory
Ancient civilizations
Animals

I would like to be a historian one day, perhaps studying in the 'field' of either Roman or Egyptian academics.

Yes, Kit12  I found this through The Land Before Time wiki.  I was actually seeing if there were any forums.  For me, google is not very good when it comes to searching for what I require.  It mentioned that this was a very active forum, so I thought 'why not join.'  I'm glad I did.

Thank you very much for the welcome.

Kor  Thank you Kor, if I have any questions I'll ask you.

Thank you for the offer, it is very kind.

Nick22 Is it alright for me to respond to the thread?  Are there any policies of bumping threads on here?  I didn't see any when reading the rules, but I hope it is acceptable to ask?

Character Discussion / Rinkus and Sierra

It is just a feeling that I have, although since I haven't watched SOCF for a while the characteristics aren't fresh in my mind.

As to revolting against Pterano, I do see your point.  Maybe I did misjudge the charactersitics.  So I apologise over that.

Whilst I do like Rinkus and Sierra.  I never really associated them as characters, to me, I'm afraid I just saw them as 'henchmen' for Pterano.

In a way, both Rinkus and Sierra partly remind me of Banzai, Ed and Shenzi from The Lion King.  There characteristics are similar albeit slight in the way they scheme, are selfish, comic relief roles.

I am not sure, it is only my impression.

However, whilst I do like them they are not, in my opinion what I class as villains worthy of being great.  I class Ozzy and Strut as such villains.

I first saw The Land Before Time by VHS.

I was four years old and just recently had moved to live with my Grandparents because my Mum's pregnancy and eventually my sister's birth led to complications were my Mum nearly died.

To keep a four year old, a sensitive and a child with Asperger's occupied, my Grandfather took me to the museum to see the dinosaurs as I was very obsessed with dinosaurs.

Furthering the whole obsession, my Dad who was a contractor for Barclay's bank came to visit.  With him he bought to great movies that I will always cherish (although he regrets it now).

He came with The Land Before Time and The Lion King.

Both films were and still are amazing, but my interest in dinosaurs pushed The Land Before Time to the hundred time watchable movie during those few years.

Along with the other VHS films, they will always be held in high regard.
