Any The Land Before Time fanart that you have made can be added in this section, as long as there is know mature or adult content in the picture, no gore and cussing either.
My fanfiction character: Gloria (there's no link, because she was deleted from LBT wiki)

Some of you here will probaly remember this picture from the Twilight Fan Art section, my picture of Blue-Scale I made.

Mature artwork such as the first picture is not permitted on this board.

How is that mature? It's just them kissing.
-
I can tell that picture was cropped, ScratteLover. I'm not sure where you got the picture or if you did see the full version of the picture, but I did. The full picture had Littlefoot and Cera not only kissing, but mating as well. Inappropriate for this board.
-
Indeed. ^
On another note, our members can post their own fanart threads in this section, as you have.
If you want to see the works of others, have a look around in this section.
-
Yeah typically you make a thread for your own artwork, that way people can see the works of the same artist a lot easier instead of looking for them in amongst one long thread.
-
Sorry about the LONG wait, I've been working on fanfictions and Pebble fanart so much, I forgot this thread.
Here's my pic of Ruby for those that haven't seen her.
Its going to be another long wait cause I don't do LBT are to often.
But you've seen all the LBT fanart that I have.
-
Here's a picture I made in about a half hour. I didn't work on it to hard, but it still came out kind of good.
Its a picture of Rex from A Sharptooth's Heart and Out of the Shadows.

I guess I'm gonna work on LBT fanart for a while, here's a poster for Kacie's Out of the Shadows I made using a pic from her Gave it All Away video.

Here's a picture of Petrie's mother that I made.

Forgot to mention, the picture above was made with GIMP, I downloaded it and it seems easy.
So if it seems easy, then photoshop should be easy, or are they the same thing?
-
(http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/217/9/b/Rosa_by_ScratteLover2.png)
This is a picture of Ptyra's Rosa that I made with GIMP. She actually came out pretty good.
I didn't have a scanner, so I couldn't just draw, upload and edit that, so I thought since I'm getting good with paint, GIMP should be no different, and she came out better than anything I ever did on paint with The Pebble and the Penguin characters.
-
That pictures really funny to me. She's sad on a happy day. I kinda know what that feels like.
-
Ptyra told me that someone sent her a message thinking that I just edited this picture from one of her's.
Well I want to clear this up now, I didn't.
I actually wanted to start from nothing when making this picture. Even if did (which I don't) steal art. I wouldn't post it on the same site as the original author.
So don't send messages to us about it being an edited image, cause I already asked her first If I could post it before I did.
-
Well it's easy to see where people would believe it's stolen. The picture looks just like one of Ptyra's pictures. The only thing different is the teardrop. When you take someone else's picture and draw a new picture that looks almost exactly like the original picture, you will have to expect people to believe it was stolen.
And I should point out that no where in the post with your picture of Rosa did you mention that you had already asked permission from Ptyra, or even hinted it. It may be a good idea to do that in the future if you get permission from other artists to use their pictures as reference to avoid further confusion.

Hey Scrattelover:
If someone gives you permission to draw their character, then draw their character. Don't trace the character or color an existing picture. Take this as a general warning, this is considered art theft if you claim it as your own.

Actually I didn't use anything as a reference, I only looked at the picture for like half a minute at DeviantArt when I added it in favorites, then I thought I'd do something different. So really it wouldn't be fresh in my to make after looking at for half a minute, I'd have to look at it for as long as it took me to make it (four hours) to even get it memorized, maybe longer like six or seven hours to get in my head and not forgot how it looks. I'm not patient enough to stare at something for that long.
So I just guessed on she looked, I didn't think it would come out that similar.
But I'll mention in a post next time I get permission from her or anyone else to make one of the characters.

Like I already told Kacie, I never traced it, I barely even looked at her pic for half a minute, just long enough to add it to my faves and that was it.
I'm not even claiming this pic as mine anyway, I've actually been thinking that it should belong to Ptyra since Rosa is her character.
-
Posting up that you got permission is good.
One thing I do not tolerate however Scrattelover are lies. Even the rims on the fingers are exactly the same, as well as the curves in the arms. You can tell me a lot, but even the best artists can't make a picture quite that much looking alike by just looking at it for 30 seconds. You don't have to admit anything, just do not do it again in the future. Lying isn't good for you, nor for a community. You can just say you used the picture as a reference or traced it, just don't lie about it.
-

Okay, I did trace some parts of it, and I won't lie next time if do so. I just had this same problem with Pebble and the Penguin pics at DeviantArt, only there none were traces.
But there wasn't to much on this one that traced, only two or three things that I had trouble with, and Mumbling mentioned two of them, the third was the head (which is the one thing with LBT characters I normally have trouble with).
But other than what Mumbling and I mentioned, nothing is. But I won't post any more of Ptyra's characters again.
I just wanted to do something different than my characters or movie characters.
-
Why don't you start drawing your own art ? :) I'd love to see some actual land before time characters rather than fan characters. That way you cannot steal anyone's art either.

Okay, actually I was planning on trying out Ruby or Ali, but I'm not sure how to start it out.
-
Get a screenshot of the character in front of you, a pencil, eraser and paper and just start drawing.. look back at the picture so now and then to see how it is coming along.
It doesn't have to be perfect! When it's done, just take a picture with a camera or cell phone and upload the picture to photobucket, you don't always need to have a scanner :)
-
One thing you should keep in mind when starting to draw pictures on your own (without relying on a reference) takes practice. Don't be discouraged if they don't turn out as good as you hoped they would be. Just keep drawing and you'll get better at it.

Actually, I am a pretty good drawer, but I'm not sure how I save upload a picture through a phone to camera to upload it to paint (or GIMP).
Dose anyone know how?
-
If you have a camera, just connect it to your computer. Most cameras come with a USB wire and software.
If not, look if your computer has a 'SD card slot'.
You can insert the memory card of your camera in there.
Just take it out of the camera, it's usually a blue or black card, can't miss it ;)

Yeah, its in my tower. Then what to get it to paint or GIMP?
-
You rightclick the file of the picture and go > Open with: paint or gimp :)
Then you can draw over it etc.
-
Thank you! I post a few if I can figure it out tommorow.
If anything is edited, it's mine for now on if this works, which I have a feeling it will.
Again, thank you!
I've never had anyone help me out this much on any sites before. I can really think why you were a choice to be a mod.
-
Good luck! If you have any problem, just post here and I'll get back to you.
-
If I choose to upload something, dose every pic on the card upload or can you choose certain ones? Cause my mom dosen't want all her pictures to downland, I might just wait until she gets a new card.
-
No, much like you upload your drawing right now, you only select one file/picture :)
-
No, much like you upload your drawing right now, you only select one file/picture :)
So it's just one pic at a time? Right?
-
Yes.
If you plug your camera into your computer nothing gets uploaded.
You edit your picture and save it, and make sure to select that picture to upload to deviantart/photobucket or whatever :)
-
I've got a picture of Chomper and Ruby drawn, but I don't know when I get it uploaded, my mom is very busy right now and she can't do it.
But she said I will get the picture taken today.
-
Out of curiosity, would you be interested in Gimp tutorials?

Out of curiosity, would you be interested in Gimp tutorials?
Even though I'm getting the hang of it, sure.
Are they from you directly or are they youtube videos?
But from August 10th on I'll be in school, so maybe not. I'd want to, but I don't I'd have the time with the homework and everything.
-
Are they from you directly or are they youtube videos?
She knows how to use GIMP, dude. :p

I know that she knows how to use GIMP, I just to know it's directly from her or youtube videos of her or just normal tutorials found through google or bing.
-
I was going to look up Youtube videos (since it would be faster) to see if I could find any Gimp tutorials that may involve something you don't know how to do. One thing I was thinking of was layers. They make it easier for you to edit the pictures (in my opinion). You don't have to look at the tutorials if you don't want to. It's just an idea.

Youtube videos are fine. Well, I do need something to do anyway.
EDIT: What's layers?
-
Never mind. Read the post below.
-
Layers allow you to edit different parts of the picture without effecting the rest of the picture. Here's a tutorial on layers in Gimp: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrVnI3l9fgE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrVnI3l9fgE)
-
Work's done. Just have to get the picture taken, then uploaded to paint, transfered to GIMP, then colored.
I'll upload the original version with no edits and the colored version.
But since this is mostly discussing how to upload pictures, I'll start a new section for my fanart called "Scratte's LBT fanart".
I'll put all the same pictures on it, and can an admin close this topic once I start the new one?
-
I'm having trouble getting it to upload, so my mom is going to try and burn it to a disc, then do it that way.
-
Finally got the think working!
Here's the raw version of the image!
It's a picture of Ruby hugging Chomper.
-
Maybe it's because of the camera angle, but Chomper's body seem a little too... long.
And... Ruby has 5 fingers on the right hand. Mutation ?
-

Ooops.... Oh, well... I'll just edit it out later with GIMP. I never noticed, thanks for telling, and it wasn't the camera angle, that's just the way he came out when I drew him. Not to good with Chomper yet, but Ruby, I'm pretty good with her.
-
Can't wait to see the TDV fanart?
-
Can't wait to see the TDV fanart?
Yes, like I said your message, I will draw you some scenes from the fanfiction.
But I'm not the best at reading something, then drawing it right a way, so it will be a while. But I am going to make you some pictures sometime.
I normally keep promises when it comes to pictures, even if it's a long time before someone gets it.
Just give me any scene from the first or the second you want drawn, and I'll try as best as I can.
Oh and Chomper4, did you that Brek my be writing a third Total Drama Valley? I asked him if there would be a third TDV and Sharptooth Valley. He confirmed a third TDV :! but no third sharptooth valley. :cry
-
How about the scene when Chomper, Tippy, Rory, Cera, Petrie, Shorty, Rita, and Ali get introduced to Harold by Chris, but instead are introduced to Duncan.

Okay, but there won't be any people in it. I'm not to good with people (even cartoon ones) Only penguins, dinosaurs and characters from ice age, but not people in cartoons or real life.
-
Fine with me. Read Fear Facers if you don't have a clue what Chris is saying.
By the way, Chris can say it offscreen with Duncan, who is also offscreen.
-
Good Draws and good concept
