Title: My Literature Page Layout
Post by: AvestheForumFox on September 21, 2008, 10:47:31 AM
(http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb195/bellcountycomics/pagepreview.jpg)

typed on a 6x4 index card and then illustrated with pen and ink.

This is how I may be doing my fics and submitting them for your reading pleasures.

I just need some opinions.

nice idea. what made you do it?
looks a little askew...or my eyes are really bad.

that would mean, the pages be uploaded as pictures. could that cause problems of any type?

what made me do it was the fact that the smaller the page, the easier it is to write and read as well as edit when necessary. Plus its the right size for children's literature. And another plus, I can fit it in a small hand held photo album made for pictures that size (allows one to flip the pages like a real book!). And it just feels o gosh darn traditional =)

the bottom border is what's askew, really. I was trying to set a border for me to stop typing and number the page. Seems it needs a little more work

Indeed =)

oh, and the question yo asked earlier about using images to post he story. I suppose it may hurt for those with bad connections... I'll do some research on the concept

Looks good to me, though I don't get the use of Courier New font.  Why not Arial or Times New Roman?  Is it the traditionalist in you? :p

Sounds like you really do like the new system of writing that you have come up with.

Hello:
As long as you feel comfortable with it then it is very cool. Sadly, I don't know how you could improve your work, or what you asked about, but I find no problem in how it looks with the number of page.

I like the layout of the page. Is there to be a picture at the top of every chapter? Or are there to be even more pictures?
Perhaps the lines at the very top and the bottom of the page (above the page number) might be left out? I'm not sure if the effect of the lines is more like giving it a frame work (positive) or "boxing it in" (negative), but that, I think would be a matter of testing.
Perhaps, instead of the line above the page number there could be some kind of "ornament" around the picture, e.g. some kind of plant structure fitting to the picture above. I think I saw something like that somewhere (my issue of Michael Ende's "Neverending story" I think), but whether this would look good or overdo it is something for you to decide (I'm not sure if it would be a good idea, it is just a spontaneous thought).

The bottom line may be removed. The top line just helps me to figure out where to stop typing in order to move down to the next line.

I may proceed to just add that top line and number the page before I begin typing.

and yes, every chapter will have its own image.

unfortunately, I have some bad news which I'll be posting in another update topic... about to make the thread now. =P

as for this thread. stay on topic, I'll try to post something new on this before the week is out.
