I haven't see this movie myself, but if I've never heard of it then I'm sure there's a reason
These are reasons why I think it is (just copied from an earlier post):

Actually if you compare several plot-points in the movies, they appear to be very similar.

Hubie = Mumble, they are both shy at first and both a have a love interest

Marina = Gloria, they both are both beautiful penguins, they are both good singers and they both have a shy love interest.

HubiexMarina = MumblexGloria = They are both seperated from each other for most of the movies.

Mumble and Hubie are both chased by a leopard seal and killer whales.

Both Mumble and Hubie are captured by humans to be taken to a zoo

Both movies are comedy romance and musicials

Neither Mumble nor Hubie can sing

The endings are very similar too, both Main characters get girls in the end and have a child(ren)

So now you're blaming Happy Feet?
Huh? I was just showing you connections between the movies.

Never judge a movie just by a trailer. Just watch it, I'm serious you'll like. Even people who comment on the videos do.
Even if he watches it, he may still not like it. And if he doesn't, that's fine. Not everyone is going to like the movie. I admit I used to like it years ago, but I don't like it anymore nowadays.

I, too, liked PATP as a kid. Checked it out the other day, and it was kind of annoying; Animation was pretty good. Hubie seemed a little light in the "flippers", if you know what I mean; (I don't know... He had girly eye-lashes and Martin Short's voice; is that guy really gay?) Well, he did love Marina pretty much, but still... The best part of the movie was the tough-as-nails rockhopper Rocko, voiced by Jim Belushi. He toughened Hubie up, and he kicked bad guy Drakes AAA... ahem... tailfeathers. I did like the little buddy comedy bit him and Hubie had going on.

This just came in from Neflix so I have yet to watch it. I find it funny this was inspired by a documentary. (At least it says so on the netflix shelve)

No, Martin Short was happily married for many, many years.  His wife just died from cancer about two weeks ago :cry.

I'm trying to not have my criticism in the way of enjoying the movie. But so far I enjoy it, but it's filled with Big Lipped Aligator moments.

Annnnd....WHY IS THERE UNNESASSARY NARRATION IN THIS. I get it's a kid's movie, but still...just...why?

That site must like trashing the good movies. I believe when it said Don Bluth's movies in the 80's and 90's were trash, he was reffering to Land Before Time and The Rats of Nihm, those were good movies. This guy has probaly never seen any of Don's movies.

Happy Feet was far more political, and the political message is evident from the second half of the film onward.
