Why do you refuse to call it Soccer?

I don't like the sound of the word...
furthermore, it is an american term and i prefer to use british english...or at least try to...
Also it is because of the movie Hooligans.   I canot recall the dialogue, but the 'Yankee' Eliah Wood was kindly told to not call the game 'soccer'...I liked that scene...

Additionally I remember, I once took part in shooting sports...and concluded: I don't like it.

I just tried the bitdefender and it told something like 'viral hook was found and successfully removed'.
The certain window didn't have appeared since.
I'm praying to the god of the internet that it will stay away.

Thank you guys. seems i'm deeply in your debt.

well, i let both, avg and spybot s&d, run twice.

then i started a scan in safe mode. during that scan the laptop just went off without anything. i started again and first thing i saw was the window telling me the worm again...

A new issue came up.
A window keeps appearing, telling me about Win32.Brontok. I read, it's a worm but i didn't read how to get  rid of it.
my avg free 8.5 atm runs a slow computer scan.

any help, experience or tips? (aside from using linux...)

The 3rd fret on the A string should be your low C unless you're changing away from the standard tuning.

uhm...which one is the A string?

Though I assume you're looking for a guitar arrangement of the piece, right?

I found various sites with chords. but i can't play chords, yet.
What I'm looking for are...piano notes, I guess..

...of jerry goldsmith's Flying Dreams from Secret of NIMH.
all I found is the first of three pages and samples with a big PREVIEW sign.

so, if someone could give me a useful link or something, that would be great.

Thank you.

edit: ah forgot: how do I play a low c on a guitar?

Announcements / An interesting proposition
« on: June 19, 2009, 02:40:32 AM »
uhm...i wish i had your problems...
action is right about asking how important the counts are.
i know about a forum, where posters with less than 100 posts are ignored, laughed at and flamed. the name of that forum is NOT the gang of five.
i say postcounts is a number, which does not say: i have made many posts so i'm a better member/ i'm cooler/ whatever.

i seem to not understand the problem. hide the counts, take them out of the system or leave everything like it is. 'im positive either way.

The Written Word / Poetry Thread
« on: June 15, 2009, 05:05:41 PM »
this i found accidentally. it is around a year old and i don't even know if it's poetry. thoughts, that fell out of my mind. it could suck, so if it does, please tell me...

(untitled)

Take my mind
Out of this world
Keep it and fly
Far away

Fly behind everything
To where nothing exists
Then keep on flying
Until eternity ends

I`ll wait
As long as I have to
You`re out there
I know it
Please find me
Please save me
And teach me
To love

When evrything ends
And nothing more starts
Then we are right
The place of our world
No paradise at all
But all we need
And us

Beyond everything
Is nothing but love
Making me stay alive
And enable me to wait
For you

I`m sure, You`ll come
And softly
Hold me

Nothing’s important
But the moment
We are in
Just us

No future no past
Only enjoying
Each others company

..feels kind of unfinished...i will maybe up further versions...

Silver Screen / Why are Sequels Always Worse?
« on: May 20, 2009, 06:44:04 AM »
almost a little sad, but i seem to be the only one thinking like this:
is the sequel really bad or are the expectations just too high? consider it.
ya see a great movie - probably the best you've ever seen. then you get information about people doing a sequel. wouldn't ya think: that movie was so great, the second just HAS to be better (whatever better may mean). ya think: they could do this an' that an' then they don't do and you say: meh. sucks.
get my point? the expectation makes it good or bad.

example: bambi.
watched it some 10 years ago. i know, why i did.
watched bambi 2 some days ago. planned to do so for 2 years and kind of didn't expect anything. i seriously yelled: cuteness, your name is bambi. i loved every single frame of it.

after all, good an' bad is subjective.

i guess, these are the only two pieces of poetry which are scientific themed, i know of.
interesting...
however, i don't see the purpose of writing a poem for biology class. does your teacher happen to like pranks?
