One of my favorite video games for N64 was Paper Mario, an RPG that is turn based and featured unique art style of a paper world of Mushroom Kingdom, complete with warp pipes, shells, koopas, and Mario himself. There are many moments from Paper Mario I love, much like moments in Land Before Time that I treasure. I thought I would share them here, as well as allow this to be place to talk about Paper Mario (The Original, N64, Wii Virtual, and beyond).
One of my favorites was Koopa Coot, who made you go on random quests to earn star pieces that allowed you in turn to buy badges for combat.
Chomper has been a favorite character of mine since I saw LBTII: The Great Valley Adventure. I remember when The Big Freeze came out, I hoped Chomper would have cameo or visit in a sequel, and to my delight he was reoccurring character in LBT Series and was featured in Journey of the Brave (LBT XIV).
I wanted to raise a theory about Chomper I have and his relationship with Leaf Eaters (Herbivores). There are many who hold to opinion that Chomper once he become an adult Carnivour will devour the Gang of Five (Six, if you count Ruby). I actually wish to humbly object to this on basis of reality. As humans we eat meat, chicken, beef, pork, and etc. When I order food like a chicken sandwhich I am behaving in same manner Chomper's parents did, eating what gives proper susitance; but if I were to raise a chicken or cow from infancy, feed them, name them, and even play with them; I would develop a bond and the said chicken or cow would be domesticated and know me; becoming pets. In this regard I think Chomper has developed this bond with the Gang of Five, and so when he sees them he does not think of food which is made up of their kind, because he developed a connection with them from a hatchling
Feel free to contest my theory, but I think Chomper is as likely to eat the Gang of Five and Ruby as we would our beloved dog, cat, bird, turtle, and fish.
I have always wondered what the Gang would look like as grown ups. I am sure there has been Fan Art shared here of them grown up, so forgive if this is redundant.
Little Foot Grown Up
I imagined that Little Foot would look similar to Bron, but I like how this preserved Little Foot's facial expression

Petrie Grown Up
I think Petrie's uncle Pterano was a good indicator of what Petrie would look like grown up.
Ducky Grown up
I always imagined Ducky would look like her mom, but this works to preserve he bubbly personality.
Cera Grown Up
I always imaged Tria was glimpse of what Cera might look like, but this shows the proper coloring and the grumpy stare is so Cera.
Spike Grown Up
Spike is perhaps the easiest to imagine grown up, you need only enhance his plates and spike tail to imagine him as an adult.
Chomper Grown Up
This I imagine is Chomper if he was to become like other Sharpteeth, although I imagine he would look this way anyway, look at his parents.
Ali, Ruby, and etc grown up
Is Ruby a Spinosaurus or is that Geedo lol? I could not find Ruby as an adult. Ali is next to Little Foot, and Shorty behind Little Foot. It's puzzling there is no Ruby.
Petrie is one of my favorite characters. I have theory that he isn't so opinionated like Cera or even Ducky because he fears rejection, and his insecurity masks his need for acceptance. While I don't think the rest of Gang would ever reject Petrie over his views, he tends to have broader view and tries not to increase the tension with Cera or Ducky. He's what one my call phlegmatic in the four humors, but I argue Petrie is really hiding major potential. I think he's genius, he even says "methinks" a lot which is Old English, and if you listen to his solos in some of songs like the "Lone Dinosaur", Petrie says "To fight the Carnivore", I think Petrie is the only one to use proper classification for a Shaptooth, while everyone uses Sharpteeth or Sharptooth. At times we see Petrie try to assert himself, usually to not avail as in LBTXIV, an exception being The Great Day of Flyers.
Grand Pa Longneck has been like a father figure to me. He is a caring, compassionate, and kind parent to Little Foot. He knows when to challenge Little Foot without being overbearing. He always has an understanding posture and attitude, a contrast to the more dogmatic Mr. Threehorn. I am of the opinion that Grand Pa Longneck's character and behavior has had major effect on Little Foot. While I am glad Bron was introduced, Grand Pa Longeck reflects a different kind of leadership. Bron has to lead a herd, and has a more practical approach with kindness attatched, and heroism, but Grandpa Longeck has a softer approach and wants a consensus rather than Apatosaur autocracy (which Bron understandably has no choice but to use for his herd of Longnecks). Granda Pa Long Neck approaches leadership in a group better, because he takes into consideration everyone's feelings, opinions, and views, while always making a sensible stand.
I think one of the reasons LBTIV is a favorite of mine is because I was as concerned as Little Foot over Grandpa's health. The journey to get the Nightflower was tense because I at time didn't know the outcome and how many more installments in the franchise we would get.
Kenneth Mars as voice of Grand Pa (until LBXIV) has always been what I wish my grandpa's voice was. It is so soft and reassuring, in fact Kenneth Mars even reminds me of what God the Father's (of the Trinity) voice sounds like.
I was recently rewatching The Land Before Time VI: The Secret of Saurus Rock. I noticed that the legend of Lone Dinosaur has major Edenic and Biblical overtones. The Great Valley comes across as Eden (as Grand Pa Longneck tells the story of Creation), then the Meanest Sharptooth arrives (Satan, the serpent in Garden), then Doc or Lone Dinosaur defeats the Meanest Sharptooth, and is refereed to in god like terms, like "He'll always be there when you need him," and "Don't worry Spike, the Lone Dinosaur will protect us." Is Doc or Lone dinosaur an allegory in LBT of God, and even perhaps Christ, He even has the scars from Sharptooth, just as Jesus has scars from His Crucifixion and defeat of Satan (Isaiah 53, Hebrew 2:14-18 , 1 John 3:8). I am not saying its a perfect allegory, but are there allusions? The Secret of Saurus Rock begins with a Creation Story tone, more so than rest with atypical opening and narration, Grand Pa is talking about tales of how things began. The actual arrival of Saurus Rock has supernatural elements and reminds me of an allusion to the True Cross or at least the Tomb of Christ. That being said Doc at first seem to behave like a messianic figure, but he being loner actual fits has an allusion to Christ, "But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed." (Luke 5:16).
It would make perfect sense a Diplodocus or Brontosauria would allegorically represent God, because in Bible the Behemoth which is same creation can only be tamed by God and is only Dinosaur directly mentioned, "Behold, Behemoth, which I made as I made you; he eats grass like an ox. Its tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of its thighs are close-knit. Behold, his strength in his loins, and his power in the muscles of his belly. His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like bars of iron. It is a prime example of God’s handiwork, and only its Creator can threaten it." -(Job 14:15-24. Holy Bible)
Edit: I am aware the Lone Dinosaur is suppose to have connections to Lone Ranger, but take into account the information in rest of film.
The Promise takes place before the collapse of Ottoman Empire, when in 1915 a campaign of genocide was waged against Armenian Christian people. The film captures the horror and heroism of this dark chapter of history. It is refreshing after plenty of films telling the tragedy of Holocaust of the Jews (7 Million Jews slaughtered) that a film covers the genocide of 1.5 Million Armenians. This is not a bleak film, there is a romantic triangle, including Chris (Christina Bale), and plenty of light moments and comedic moments to offset the more horrific and tragic parts of the film. Worth seeing.
I have been watching The Land Before Time films since I the Original. I found Journey of Brave to be one of my favorites. I want to share what I thought were the best and worst moments of the movie.
Stinky Camouflage
While many decry this was copied and taken from LBT V: The Mysterious Island, this different from stinky place Chomper hid his friends in. It served a similar purpose, but the fact Little Foot thought of using the stinky food to dull their scent at expense of hygiene and to angst of Cera, is remarkable. For first time, the Gang has thought of what do before encountering Sharpteeth. Normally they run into them, and its react on the fly, knock rocks, a log, or use vine to trip the Sharptooth, but this time it was preemptive. Of course this is ruined by the fact the whole Gang in reckless abandon jumps into the pool of water and the stink goes away.
Cesar Petrie
The diggers making Petrie their leader was not only humorous, but it briefly showed a side of Petrie we rarely see, confidence. Petrie flies down with a crown of leaves and behaves as one who has self esteem. While Little Foot and Ducky have always believed in Petrie, the diggers gave Petrie something the Gang never has. The diggers liked Petrie for albeit selfish reasons (food), but it was simple, all Petrie had to do was get them more food, while with his friends he tends to be challenged and belittled (by Cera mostly). Petrie needs this urging from his friends, but sometimes "Poor Petrie," just needs to be believed in without the grumbling (Cera) and heavy expectations. It was disappointing the Diggers adopted a new leader, Parasaurolophus, in front of Petrie. It would have been better if they couldn't get over Petrie, and in sequel they appear again shouting "Leader!"
The Climax
As a reviewer I watched noted, this is first time all of the Gang's strengths are used in one setting. Cera must ram the rock to loose water, Petrie is look out in sky for lava rock missiles, while Spike waits to help move the rock with Etta and Little Foot. Only Ducky doesn't have a role, since swimming in lava doesn't work. My only complaint is that because Little Foot and the Gang with Etta was able to save *Spoilers* it defeated the whole purpose of Gandpa Longneck, Topsy, Chomper, and Ruby. What should have happened is that Little Foot and His Gang's efforts was effective to delay the Lava, but it would take Grandpa Longneck and Topsy to help move the rock on *Spoilers* leg. Chomper and Ruby then could have been part of confronting the Carnotaurus and Feather Sharpteeth, Chomper convincing the Feather Sharpteeth into a trap with Grandpa and Topsy knocking thme cold, and then a final battle with Carnotaurus (Horned Sharptooth) with Etta dropping stones on the Carnotaur. This all would have happened at the end, after saving *Spoilers* and *Spoilers* would help in fight using his tail as whip. The Gang of Five would mostly do what they did in LBT X: The Great Longneck Migration, being spectators or getting in way.
Horned Sharptooth
The Horned Sharptooth (Carnotaurus) is first Sharptooth to jump high like the Original, and to have tenacity that is almost supernatural. He even chases The Gang of Four into a cave which pays homage to the Original Sharptooth giving chase in the cave and Ducky's famous screem in LBT 1988 It is a shame Etta so easily gets the Gang free of the peril, that is why I think in the Climax there should have been another encounter with the Carnotaurus, which would require Grandpa Longneck, Topsy, *Spoilers*, and Etta to defeat the Horned Sharptooth.
Wild Arms
I didn't find Wild Arms too annoying. He wasn't LBT Jar Jar Binks. I like how he candidly said, "So you want me to lead you back across, through the land of Featherd Sharpteeth, and to the Fire Mountain, eh no!" At least he honest, but because he's bullied into going it makes for some good fun.
Chomper and Ruby
Since LBT V I have been hoping for Chomper's return, and while he certainly was in the Series, this is his first movie since The Mysterious Island. For fans of Ruby I am sure it is exciting that she is now canon. My biggest issue with Chomper and Ruby is they were neglected. It is odd they didn't go with the Gang of Five, or knew nothing about the whole plan Little Foot had. It seems the writer wanted to, for fans to include these two beloved characters, but they did the atypical, focus on Gang of Five like the earlier installments. Then Chomper and Ruby essentially become redundant and useless, save for Chomper taking over for a fainted Wild Arms and smelling the Gang of Five's trail (a plot device when writer forgot O yeah, I need to justify Chomper and Ruby's existence in this film). The truth is Journey of Brave shines best with the Gang of Five, while Chomper and Ruby feel like add ons, like Venom in Spider-Man 3 to make fans happy. As aforementioned, I am glad to see my favorite gentle Sharptooth, but he was underutilized, and Ruby didn't really add anything to the adventure.
The Songs
Sadly, the songs in this installment are the least catchy, and the lyrics are too simplistic. The only exception is Reba's "Look to the Light" which has a hymn like patterns, listen to it in the credits, there is choir.
All Four Terrain Types
This is first Land Before Time to feature all four climates: Desert (storm, Land of Feathered Sharpteeth), Tropical (Great Valley), Volcanic (Climax), and Waterland (underground cave waterfall).I found the Crystal Cave water way and ride to be amusing and enjoyable. It was a nice moment of light fun before the Climax. The Land of the Feathered Sharpteeth or Monument Valley was the best suspenseful location I've seen in a long time (only suprassed by 1988 film's terrain). In The Day of the Flyers, the Gang of Five encounters a similar location when they run into the Spinosaurus, but the location is two dimensional, while in Journey of the Brave its more complex and exciting. The Volcanic part was lackluster and one dimensional. All tension was overcome too quickly, and Petrie barely got a chance to serve in his role, not once did he say "Watch out! Fire rocks!"

Bron and Little Foot
I was pleased Bron returned shortly after LBT X, only four movies later. Little Foot resolve to save his Papa is admirable, and watching him wrestle with resting because he knows he needs to find his dad is refreshing. This reminds us of Little Foot's Mom, who he lost and so Little Foot doesn't want to go through that again. None of the other parts of Gang of Five really know loss in same way (nothing on screen), and so Little Foot's passionate plan to save his dad makes this installment majorly connected to 1988 Original.
Etta (Guest Star)
Reba Macintire is one of better quest stars, superior especially to Chris Rock in the "Wisdom of Friends." It is nice to have a supporting character who is Pterosaur. Certainly we had our fill of Ptersaurs in "The Day of the Flyers" but its been a while since there was solitary flyer, not since "The Stone of Coldfire." I personally liked who Etta had some memory problems (I know someone who does same thing) and kept references her sister (herself in third person).
The Horned Sharptooth or Carnotaurus in The Land Before Time XIV: Journey of the Brave has striking similarities to the Sharpooth in 1988 Land Before Time. I shall use pictures to show the similarities.
There is no picture yet of the Horned Sharptooth's footprints and Cera mentioning them, then the Carnotaurus appears. If you watch the film again you'll see them.
Long Ago, on a Mysterious Island far far away, there lived three Sharpteeth. This family of Tyannosaur spent their time scavenging the sea side and thick forests for food. The youngest, named Chomper, was a byzantine colored creature with red eyes. Chomper had an unusual upbringing. He was raised from an egg to a hatchling by Leaf Eaters, a band of mixed species Herbivores by names of Little Foot, Cera, Petrie, Ducky, and Spike. Chomper had developed a bond with these Five, and when it came time to leave with his parents, the little Canrivour felt a pang of sorrow as He said farewell to his friends and foster parents. Years later, when Chompter had grown more, the Gang of Five arrived on his island, and the reunion was filled with joyous RAWR! But Chomper discovered something, his parents considered all Leaf Eaters lunch, and these Leaf Eaters were not only his friends, but former foster parents. Chomper had a choice, and he decided to hide his friends in a stinky place. Tensions grew as a mysterious Sharptooth with plates and incredible strength tried to harm Little Foot and his friends. Chomper's parents joined the pitched battle with this intruder, and in the ruckus, Chomper was saved by Gang of Five and Elise. In rare turn, Chomper's parents accepted the Gang of Five, and finally Chomper felt completed, he could love his parents and foster parents. He no longer had to choose.
Not long after The Gang of Five returned to their families, Chomper found himself faced with another contradiction. While hunting with his father, Chompter came across a pink Ovaraptor. Chompter's Father with saliva seeping down his teeth and intent on taking a bite out of the Oviraptor, instructed Chomper to attack.
Daddy Sharptooth: Now is time, strike Chomper!
Chomper looked at shaking Oviraptor, and heard her speak.
Ruby: Please.. don't eat me. Please.
Chomper looked up to his father.
Chomper: But dad, we can't eat her.
Daddy Sharptooth: You are Sharptooth! Of course you we can eat her!
Chomper: What about my friends? We didn't eat them.
Daddy Sharptooth: That was different. They saved you.
Chomper: I can't do this.
Daddy Sharptooth: No hear son, you are Sharptooth! You can't get squimish every time you have to hunt!
Chomper: I can't.. she is too much like my friends.
Daddy Sharptooth: If you make every Leaf Eater a friend, you will starve and find youself the prey of bigger Sharpteeth!
Chomper: What if I don't believe in hunting?!
Daddy Sharptooth: You cannot live off bugs your whole life! At time will come when you will grow and need meat to sustain you.
Chomper: Then I will make my choice when I am older.
Daddy Sharptooth: You will make your choice now!
Ruby during this conversation was slowly itching away, when Daddy Rex noticed and stomped on her, making her knock out.
Daddy Sharptooth: Playing with your food like this is a sure way to miss a meal! Now, I am going to find your mother and when I return I expect you to have finished the job!
As Chomper's Dad walked away in a huff, Chomper looked at the Orchid Oviraptor. He felt divided in his heart. On one hand he was the successor, the next in line to be sovereign over his island, but the lessons from the Leaf Eaters, his time with Little Foot and friends had left an impression he could not shake. Chomper looked at Ruby and then sniffed her, she smelled of roses and tulips. An instrinct to snarl and sneeze overchame the little Sharptooth, and with loud sneeze the Oviraptor awoke.
Ruby: Ahhhhhh! Please don't eat me.
Chomper: I am not eating you.. I am.. sneezing!
Ruby: You speak Leaf Eater?!
Chomper: Yes, I learned it from friends in the Great Valley.
Ruby: I overheard that. I speak Sharptooth, Leaf Eater, and Ovanese.
Chomper: If you hurry, you can run away and I will tell my dad you escaped.
Ruby: What will happen to you?
Chomper: Probably a lecture and some form of punishment.
Ruby: I can't be cause of that.
Chomper: You would rather be dinner?!
Ruby: No, but I noticed your heart isn't in this.
Chomper: It's hard, I was raised by Leaf Eaters and yet I am a Sharptooth. I am dino with no tribe, I am Herbivore and Carnivore.
Ruby: What do you Leaf Eater friends think?
Chomper: Well they love me, and are fine with my insect appetite.
Ruby: And your parents?
Chomper: Oh, they love me too. My dad is only doing what he thinks best. But he doesn't understand me, I can't eat Leaf Eaters, I know what they are saying, their pleas for mercy make my stomach knotted.
Ruby: Hmm.. sounds like you have a choice.
Chomper: A choice?
Ruby: You have to decide if you want to be what your Father says a Sharptooth should be, or to follow your own path.
Chomper: My own path?
Ruby: Yes.
Chomper: And what is that?
Ruby: I don't know. But I do know you will be able to control what you eat on it.
Chomper: But that means disobey my folks.
Ruby: It's not easy, but you have to decide what matters more, your parent's approval or your integrity.
Chomper: Integrity?
Ruby: Yes, that inner thing that tell you something is right or wrong, good or bad.
Chomper: Oh.
Ruby: But first we must fix your current problem. I don't want to be dinner, but I don't want you in trouble either.
Chomper: If only there was something else to eat.
Ruby: Has you parents ever had eggs?
Chomper: We aren't omnivores, my Dad says "meat, meat is the only thing fitting for Sharpteeth."
Ruby: Hmm.. well we will just have to come up with something.
Chomper: Better hurry.. I hear my Dad's foot steps in distance, and my mom's too.

The Prophecy
The Chosensaur shall have the regal hide (purple). The Chosenasaur will be an orphan. The Chosenasaur shall break barriers. The Chosenasaur shall lead the clans into an golden age of glory. The Chosenasaur shall deliver Sharpteeth from the roaming of the Mysterious Beyond, giving them purpose and a home in the Paradino (paradise).

The titans, the lords of our clan! Sharpteeth are the captains of our clan. Their size and brawn make them known to all leaf eaters! The ground shakes at their footsteps and the trees splinters at their roar!

Medium Species -Allosaurus, Carnotaurus, and Suchimimus
While the Sharpclaws are fast and can navigate difficult terrain, and the Sharpteeth can crush and swallow foes whole, Sharpfeet are the vanguard of our clan. They have a combo of strong foot claws and a larger mouth, to make them a double threat!
Sharpswimmer -Mosasaur, Megaladoon, and etc.
The Navy of our Clan. Sharp Swimmers can dive deep into the Big Water, ensuring Sharptooth supremacy over the seas!
Sharpflyer -Pterosaurs
The Airforce of our clan! Mostly comprised of Pterosaurs, Sharpflyers have no contraints save being able to explore the depths of the sea.
