Fan Voice Overs / Re: [VO2] Announcement: The Next Voice-Over Project Is...
« on: September 27, 2021, 12:33:17 PM »
Sent in my audition for Spokes Dinosaur. Hopefully Diddy can get that straightened out, cuz i'd love to hear what it sounds like with the visuals  :DD

Also
If anything we really need a Ducky, but I understand that's a tough role to fill

I've been thinking about it, but the problem is Ducky does a lot of screaming in this movie, and my microphone simply can't handle it. I know that audio quality isn't too much of a concern here, but i'm just not ok with sending in a file that sounds like that. Plus there is the fact that Ducky is indeed a very tough role to fill, and my voice isn't super suited to her. It's a little low and mellow, and Ducky is quite peppy and bouncy. If there's a way around the screaming, I'd definitely try it out. But I can't guarantee anything.

Also not related to the voice over topic, but since I'm auditioning and revealing what my voice sounds like I'd like to make this known: Though my voice is very feminine, I don't identify as female, so if there's ever a case where anyone needs to use pronouns to identify me please avoid using she/her. They/them is preferred but he/him is acceptable too. I don't want to ruffle any feathers but this is something that means a lot to me, so sensitivity is appreciated   :PLoofah

There are some minor errors in the script on the transcript website, so make sure to use this page when you are recording your lines instead. We'll make sure to keep updating that with the correct lines/characters.

I've found an error still in the script, Grandpa's line (line 72) says "isn't that impossible?" when it should say "isn't that also possible?"

Also thinking about auditioning for a couple roles. Mainly Ducky's mom, but you said you're open to gender swaps so perhaps Rinkus too :PteranoPlotting

The only scenes where I've noticed a purple tint are the underground scenes. Everything else looks pretty normal to me. Perhaps color coding since one of the central plot devices is the pink blossom tree?

The thing is, 10 played with colors a lot during certain scenes. So perhaps they tried to do that in Tinysaurs but with the color purple.

LBT Fanart / Re: Art from The Jewelstone Queen

These all look really nice! Really enjoying your Ruby art, it's nice to see some love for her  :chompysmile

Honestly, I wouldn't know the reason why Chomper would do this, they could be just playing, but if you have a better explanation let me know!
Perhaps Chomper is being a little cheeky during a game of tag, and Ruby finds it amusing but in a "please let go of my tail" kind of way. Your teeth hurt, little buddy!  :Chomp

Gonna finally share some of my art over here. Keep in mind that it's all quite old. Long post, cuz there's quite a few :p

This first one was a contest entry. If i remember correctly, the only two people participating were Shaiger and myself so the contest ended up being called off.

This is the one that Ducky123 did a redraw of. I have to agree with the majority of folks that Ducky is a pain in the butt to draw.  :Dducky

and finally, this one was also a contest entry. Am I posting it here just to flex on my Ducky drawing skills? maybe  :smucky

Thank you everyone for the warm welcomes!  :Mo

Another person that loves the sequels, that's pretty cool to see! :duckyhappy :littlefoot:)

Indeed! I figured that if there was any place I could find some comradery on that front it would be on the GOF forums.  The LBT diaspora spread over the rest of the internet is pretty negative and mean-spirited about the sequels across the board, and those aren't really the folks I want to be friends with considering the fact that I like most of the movies. Even folks that are fond of the sequels are typically coming from a place of nostalgia, but I like and watch the movies now as an adult, and I'd like to find other people that do the same. Don't get me wrong, I love the original too. It's just not the only part of the series I love  :PLoofah

I wasn't active on the GoF and not on DA yet in 2015 so I am personally unfamiliar with your LBT art, but would be great to see them! (and even better if you ever decide to have at it again  :chompysmile )

I'm definitely thinking about putting some of that art up on the fanart board!  :)petrie The only thing stopping me at the moment is the fact that I have no idea what I did with my master files. Maybe i'm being a bit full of myself to think that some people might recognize it, but they are some of the most successful and far reaching pieces of art i've ever produced so my view of it is a bit skewed. I do remember Ducky123 did a redraw of one of them with my permission, I checked to see if that was up on the fanart board and it is. That was quite a long time ago, sheesh. Time flies!

Anyhow, not sure if I'm ever going to have the energy to draw again, but I am quite tempted to take part in the fanfic community here. I had no idea you guys had such a robust writing community! Or such a robust community in general, this place is very well maintained.  :littlefoot:)

Character Showcase / Re: Mo Showcase - September 2021
« on: September 19, 2021, 07:13:25 PM »
Mo!  :Mo  Mo is one of my favorite supporting characters in the series. He's certainly not for everyone - I think it would be very easy to find him annoying, but he bounced off of the main five in a really interesting way that pretty much made the entire movie worth watching.

Personally I don't think the gang would mind him being a sharptooth much at all, since they've been shown to be very tolerant and accepting of all sorts of critters and species different from themselves. Like everyone else in this thread has pointed out, they befriended Chomper knowing full well he was a sharptooth from the beginning.   :Chomp

Seeing all his cameos throughout the movies has always been a treat. I love to see some love being given to him!  :CeraHAPPY

Greetings all!  :rainbowwave Been a long time fan of this series ever since I was a child, and now that I'm hyperfixating on it again I've come down to join up with the rest of the fans!

Some folks here who are also present on DeviantART might recognize me from when a couple pieces of my lbt art blew up circa 2015. I'm not much of an artist anymore, but I'm still quite proud of the art I created back then.

Current favorite movies in the series are 7 through 10, though I've got a soft spot for 11 as well.

Hope to have fun here and meet some new friends!  :^^spike
