Unreal Engine 5 was released to the public earlier this year.  If you haven't seen what people are doing with it, then you are missing out.  It really is something amazing.  Here's a video by ColdFusion (Highly recommend checking out their videos.) that shows what's possible.

I'm looking forward to what Unreal can bring.  This will be a very interesting time in gaming.

Real-time ray tracing is gonna revolutionize how the next gen looks. Graphics/textures are already basically photorealistic so there's not much possible progress to make on that front, meaning lighting/reflections will be the next big step in visual fidelity.
