I don't have any LBT movie or TV show rejects, at least not as far as "I'll never watch it again." Even of the few I dislike, I'd still see them again at some point, as even the weaker entries still had redeeming qualities. Plus, similar to Impractical, I too would like to go through and re-review the series again at some point, so at the very least I'd need to watch all the installments again for that reason.

After all, liking any of the sequels of LBT is already a sign of low movie standards. :rhett_grin :taunttroll

Hm, I disagree actually (...unless you were joking, I couldn't tell for sure :P). A few of the sequels I think are genuinely solid movies. I wasn't always the most generous with my ratings in the past, but many of the sequels/TV episodes have grown on me since then.

The seller got back to me. He says that it would be prohibitively expensive for him to ship items of such high value to Canada, that it could be as much as a couple hundred dollars. But he did ask me to give him my postal code so he could check just how much. I'll keep an eye on my messages and let you know what he says next.

Thanks @RainbowFaceProtege for bringing that other script to our attention. :DD

Well I'm definitely interested in buying them, but I live in Canada and the listings say they can't ship to Canada. I just contacted the seller though to see if we can work something out. And if that fails, Impractical says he'd probably be willing to snag them. Will update again once I know more.

I haven't.

And thank you as well for bringing Mr. Clubtail's wiki post about the script to my attention. I highly doubt I would've noticed it in time otherwise.

Well this is a bit speculative on my part. But I think that certain movie ideas got changed around in the LBT production queue. They were probably originally planning something else for the third movie, and so The Time of the Great Giving was going to be the fourth movie. Which makes me wonder what the original third movie was going to be. Maybe Journey Through the Mists?

It does remind me of the original LBT 6 script. At the end of it, there's mention of the weather getting colder and snowy, which makes me think that The Big Freeze was originally planned to be the seventh movie, before it got pushed back to being the eighth.

That's a good question. But alas, I haven't seen most of the films and TV episodes in quite a while now, so I can't give a proper assessment and comparison at the moment. Although at the time I was making my way through the series, none of the voice actors ever struck me as bad or anything. I thought they all did a good job.

What bends your mind every time you think about it?

Many things regarding technology in general, but especially cell phones. The fact that, with a small rectangular mobile device, I can call someone and instantly talk to them, regardless of how far away they are, and even if they're all the way on the other side of the world.

I have, although it was fairly brief. It was when I went to visit some of my extended family who live in Nova Scotia. They live elsewhere in the province, but my flight came in to Halifax.

Enchanted-Valley96: I do not, although I've known people who have it.

Hey!! :wave

Thanks for checking in. It's good to hear from you. I enjoyed our online encounters too.

I take it you're referring to the Seven Wonders? Alas, I have not visited any of them. I've been to some interesting places over the years in my travels, but not those ones specifically.

Character Showcase / Re: Rooter Showcase - February 2021
« on: September 30, 2023, 12:35:44 PM »
Continuing on through the remaining 2021 & 2022 showcases. That's two down now!

1.  Rooter was added to the original Land Before Time film at the urging of psychologists in order to soften the impact of the death of Littlefoot’s mother and the scariness of Sharptooth.  What do you think of this decision?

2.  Even though he was only featured for a short time in the first film, Rooter had a large impact.  What are your thoughts on Rooter as a character?

Hmm. Well, I don't think the film needed any softening. But I do appreciate Rooter's scene all the same. It's both sad and heartwarming at the same time. It adds something special; a little extra something that I think that would have been lost if the scene hadn't been included. It was also one of the scenes I remembered the most from watching the film as a kid, so it clearly left an impact on my younger self.

Strangely, I also like that this is Rooter's only appearance. It seems more haunting and meaningful in a way that we don't see him again after this.

Enchanted-Valley96: A lot of things, really. Just about any food that I enjoy, I'd be willing to have for supper. Pizza, cheeseburgers, and chicken wings are among my favourite foods in general. But even something like eggs, bacon, and toast, a traditionally 'breakfast' meal, is something I'll have for supper once in a while.

Compsognathus: I do, yes. I'm only a casual furry at best myself, but I do like the fandom as a whole, and I do like cute furry creatures in general.

Yep, I have! I used to watch a fair bit of it as a kid. Although it's another movie/show from my childhood that I haven't seen now in a long time.

Haha, well I've certainly heard that they tend to get a bad rap. I can't really say for myself because I haven't seen most of them. I saw the Aladdin and Lion King sequels when I was a kid, but I don't remember them all that well. In more recent years, I also saw Return to Never Land, which was okay, and Brother Bear 2, which was decent.

Huh, not as far as I'm aware. Or at least, I don't know anyone who does. But I also don't actively follow politics and such, so it probably isn't the sort of thing I'd know much about if there is a grudge.
