Visual Art / My MLP OC, Blithe.
« on: July 20, 2017, 02:24:52 PM »
So now that I've began uploading my own pictures and artwork to my DeviantArt
account, I thought I'd share them here. This picture is Blithe, my OC who is of the same
species as Discord in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic , and I've given thought as to how he looks and to make him look younger than Discord.

I hope you enjoy my picture of Blithe. This picture especially goes to CybertronianBrony, since
he enjoyed Blithe the most and even thought Blithe could make a good actual character
in a future MLP episode! https://dracorider19.deviantart.com/art/My-...lithe-693633781

I have a question- how do I post a picture on the "Caption this" section? I've tried to click "copy image" and "copy image address" and paste, but nothing happened. Anyone know how?

The Written Word / "Dragons to the Core"- an MLP parody song
« on: June 02, 2017, 03:43:53 PM »
This is a parody song of the amazing song "Apples to the Core" from MLP: Friendship is Magic.
I call it "Dragons to the Core", which is about my interest in dragons and the fun in being part of a fandom that's into dragons. I listened to the original song to put in my own lyrics.
Hope you have fun reading it.

"Dragons to the Core"

I've traveled the road of fantasy,
Looking for a common interest
We're singing our one across the fantasy nation
From fairy tales and beyond

We're Dragons forever, Dragons together
We're friends but so much more,
No matter what comes we will face the challenges
We're Dragons to the Core
(Oh yes!)
There's no adventure that I'd rather go,
Than traveling with my dragon pals
Myths all around, with some legends to see,
As we fly out across the land

We're Dragons forever, Dragons together
We're friends but so much more,
No matter what comes we will face the challenges
We're Dragons to the Core

We're reptiles with wings, our breath's hot as lava
Any question you can ask me
We're here on the same journey through scales and horns
You're always welcome with your dragon kin
(Oh yeah!)

You're more amazing than a common crocodile,
Or lizards crawling over your garden
The awe I feel is magic not science
As we fly across the sky
(Yes, indeed!)

We're Dragons forever, Dragons together
We're friends but so much more,
No matter what comes we will face the challenges
We're Dragons to the Core

The Written Word / First Poem- Rock of my Eye
« on: May 02, 2017, 11:52:55 AM »
This is a little poem I made which I use rocks as a metaphor for
someone one loves. I am single, but this idea popped in my head and I had to write it.

To my loving and honest girl
Many say about the apple of one’s eye,
Where I say, you are the rock of my eye.
I have long admired the beauty of rocks
But I know you possess a quality,
A quality beyond the value of rocks
You are like the moss,
The moss that gathers on a stone,
A good helper, a true ally,
The one whom I love,
The one whom I share my life with,
And once we enter marriage,
We will be like two melted rocks,
Two rocks that turn into lava,
And join together in love.

General Land Before Time / Why Ali wasn't in LBT 10
« on: May 01, 2017, 01:58:50 AM »
As fans may typically know, especially Ali fans, the much-loved character Ali for some reason did not appear in the 10th LBT, The Great Longneck Migration.                                                 This is quite a disappointment, as Ali should have appeared since the film was about a longneck migration. I have a theory as the reason why she did not appear is probably because the producers may have felt Ali wasn't neccessary for the film, and wanted to focus on the characters of Bron and Shorty instead, perhaps thinking Ali would have gotten in the way. Though it would have been pleasing to the fans if they could just leave out Shorty and have Ali brought in, which would make more sense.

Anyone have their ideas on why Ali didn't appear in LBT 10, canon-wise?

Silver Screen / MLP- a childfree episode?
« on: April 23, 2017, 09:46:15 PM »
I posted this idea on the official MLP: Friendship is Magic thread, but I decided to then start this topic that's been floating in my head for a while.
My idea is that the staff for MLP should make an episode about a recently married stallion and mare who have chosen not to have foals. Someone, most likely Pinkie Pie, would ask them when they will have foals, and they say that they do not want to have foals, and give their reasons why. Pinkie would have trouble understanding why, but learns the episode's lesson that it is perfectly okay to choose not to have your own children (or foals in this case), and that not every couple are meant to be parents. Since the show is known for often deep life lessons, I think it would be a great idea to show viewers the topic of choosing not to procreate.
Anyone else like this idea?

The Party Room / Describe a member
« on: April 09, 2017, 07:42:03 PM »
This game will be where you will choose a member of this forum, especially regarding how well you know them, and describe them. As the starter of this game, the member I will describe first will be Dalekdino, the fellow LBT fan who introduced me to this forum. (Bless him.)

"Dalekdino is one of the most active members of the Gang of Five. Born and raised in England, he lives in Lancaster and is known for his fanart drawings, often of anime and crossovers. His fanart is very smooth, detailed, and colorful. A fan of Doctor Who, Pokemon and other anime, and dinosaurs, he will often incorporate aspects of those interests into his fanart. One of his most popular pieces of fanart is his series starring his LBT O.C. "Bambo". Having a likeable personality and being well-developed, Bambo is clearly Dalekdino's most successful O.C., in my
opinion."

General Land Before Time / This forum is my Great Valley
« on: April 09, 2017, 07:30:11 PM »
Since discovering this forum for one of my favorite non-Disney animated films, this website has been like one of my "happy places", a sort of haven to converse with others and enjoy discussions. Simply put, this is one of my places where it's like the Great Valley in the Land Before Time. This website is like my personal "Great Valley."

Here, I can take a break from doing other activities such as walking, drawing, and college work. While I have a very optimistic feeling about the world and its wonders, this forum is sort of a "getaway" from stress and a good choice for a place to go and relax, create fun stuff, and overall a friendly community where it is honorable to be a member of. Bless those who created this forum.

Anyone else? How do they feel about this forum? Is this forum one of their "Great Valley" places?

The Fridge / About the dragon
« on: April 06, 2017, 05:51:05 PM »
You all were probably wondering if I might write something like this, and well, here
it is.

Of all the mythical/legendary creatures that is known, who could deny the influence and grandeur of the dragon?

The dragon, whether Western or Eastern, has become more than just a mythical creature- it’s essentially a part of our culture and fantasy. The word “dragon” comes from the Latin word "draconem" which means "huge serpent". The Chinese word for dragon is "long".
Our imagination has been captivated by the dragon for millennia. The dragon is the most widespread legendary creature featured in fantasy genres and all thing mythical. At times, it seems like the dragon is a major symbol in our culture, which often it is. You can find dragons in fantasy books, movies, video games, and toys.                                                                                                                                              There are different ideas about dragons in different cultures, but the two most well-known types of dragons are the Western/European dragon, and the Eastern dragon. While China is typically the eastern country that comes to mind about dragons, the Japanese have also incorporated dragons in their culture.

Dragons have enjoyed their legendary status and symbols, and we will discuss what they symbolize and represent. For both Western and Eastern dragons, they symbolize power and grandeur. While dragons in European folklore have traditionally been thought of as evil and malevolent creatures, as well as symbolizing sin and greed in traditional Christianity, the Asians consider them to be benevolent, as well as wise. Also, while the Western dragon is known for breathing fire, the Eastern dragon is associated with rain and water in Asian cultures.
Of course, there is evidence for how the myth of the dragon originated. Dinosaur bones and fossils could certainly have been discovered and could have inspired the idea of dragons, especially in China, where in ancient times dinosaur bones were thought to be those of dragons. Also, further study has been shown that the dragon combines different animals around the world, including the crocodile, snake, and eagle. The dragon is reptilian in appearance, but could be a product of humanity’s fear and fascination for predatory animals.
To me, dinosaurs are almost like real-life dragons. If I were to draw a dragon and make it look believable, I would incorporate features from dinosaurs and several modern animals. I’d give its jaw that of a crocodilian look, make its snout like that of a T.rex or other carnivorous dinosaur, make its feet resemble that of therapods, and give it my own features.

Recently in Western media, dragons have become increasingly depicted in positive
terms. Take "How To Train Your Dragon" for example. To me, a dragon can be either
benevolent or neutral, but the only dangerous dragons are those which, like real animals,
do not like those attacking it or invading its territory.

Well, how about you? How do you feel about dragons? Let me know in the replies/comments.

The Written Word / Allosaurus vs. Stegosaurus
« on: April 06, 2017, 01:28:37 AM »
So since I'm writing down my stories of hypothetical dinosaur scenarios, I will write about a battle between Allosaurus and Stegosaurus, when I'm finished with the first two.
I have researched about these two dinosaurs to get an idea of how they behaved and how the battle may have played out, but I'll take votes and see who thinks which one will
win. I will reveal in the outcome which dinosaur wins.
Until then, please reply below and explain which dinosaur you think will win and why.

The Written Word / Hypothetical Dinosaur scenario
« on: March 29, 2017, 11:55:11 PM »
Hello, this is my first written story on this forum. This story, though more of a scenario,
will concern my visual ideas and concepts of how dinosaurs lived their lives when
they lived in the Mesozoic Era.
Now this story will be about a hypothetical fight between a T.rex and Triceratops, as
predator and prey. Keep in mind that I'll try to be as accurate as I can, since dinosaur
theories often change over time, and so I'll leave out several theories I believe, just in
case.
First I will write half of the fight, then leave a sort of cliffhanger and wait for replies
to my story. I encourage those who reply to this story to write their own scenario of
the latter half of the fight and come up with their outcome. Then I will continue writing the latter half of the fight and reveal my outcome of the battle.

Here it is. Enjoy.

Off in the distance, a lone Tyrannosaurus is walking in a forest, searching for a meal.
As the carnivore walks on, it comes to a clearing, where the plains meet the forest. Seeing an open plain field with several large trees, T.rex looks in the distance, hoping to catch a sight of a large animal to prey on. Looking to its right, the predator doesn’t see anything except a couple of Pteranodons getting a drink from a small lake. Knowing that these were flying animals, and there was no way it could hide itself without the Pteranodons noticing, T.rex ignored them. He then looked straight, but saw nothing. He then turned to his left towards an open plain field and sees a Triceratops. Seeing no herd, he decides to take this opportinuity to get a meal.
If this was an Edmontosaurus, T.rex would charge and try to come close enough to fatally bite it. But since this was a Triceratops, T.rex needed a more thought out plan. It moved behind some trees that were opposite of the clearing, and peered out to look at the Triceratops, who by now had moved its position and was facing the T.rex’s left.                                                               Still needing more time to plan, T.rex walked some more distance until it was aligned with the Triceratops. This, coupled with that the Triceratops was facing away from the scheming predator, was T.rex’s chance.
The Triceratops then raised its head, catching a smell of something it feared. Just as the Triceratops sensed the scent of T.rex, T.rex charged. It kept its mouth closed, waiting until it got close enough to use its massive jaws on the hapless herbivore, or so as hapless as it seemed.
The Triceratops turned and faced the T.rex, keeping its ground and displaying its horns. This was a young adult Triceratops, who was healthy and showed no signs of injury or disease, and was certainly a match for the T.rex. Hesitating for a moment as it stopped some safe space from Triceratops, T.rex pondered on what to do. It studied the horned herbivore, looking for a weak spot. With its jaws open partly, T.rex looked over as it tried to discern a chance to attack and possibly fatally injure Triceratops. T.rex moved back a little as the Triceratops waved its horns and made noises for its herd to hear.
Finally, T.rex decides to lower its head and try to bite down on of the Triceratops’s front legs. Triceratops had raised its head slightly when it saw its enemy lunging forward and quickly Triceratops swung its head sideways in an attempt to counter-attack the predator.

I will reveal what happens as soon as I get a few responses. Until then, write if you think if either Triceratops or T.rex will win in the outcome.

The Fridge / Describe your voice
« on: March 29, 2017, 06:23:40 PM »
Since I posted my topic about voice acting, I decided to start this one about describing
your voice. I would describe my voice as very average-sounding.
However I would add that my voice is good for performing a role or acting out something
since I am very verbal. And being a young man, well, my voice isn't really that deep,
but its an average low pitch. And when I sing, my voice becomes a bit more smooth
sounding, but nothing else is different from my speaking voice. I'm content with
my voice.

If you're not sure how to describe your voice I suggest these:
If you're a male-
. Pretty deep- Average-sounding pitch (That's my voice)
.Moderately deep
. Very deep

If you're a female-
. Low pitch
. Moderately high
. High and cute

You can add any description you want of your voice.

Well since I'm a new addition, I'd thought I would share with you my personal

about dragons or dinosaurs, but try not to ask anything too personal.

Character Discussion / Topp's redeeming qualities
« on: March 27, 2017, 01:31:15 PM »
One of my fellow LBT users on this forum, whom I am good friends with,
talked about how much he hated Topps, or as he calls Topsy. That user is Dalekdino.
Now while I agree Topps is most often a jerk, he did have his better moments, such
as when he learned his lesson about raising Cera in the third movie.
I also have an idea- What if you could change Topps' character and make him
more likeable? I would make him more open-minded, and while still rather strict
in parenting, Topps would not mind Cera interacting with other dinosaurs if I were
to change him in the first movie.

Silver Screen / Supreme Leader Snoke
« on: March 25, 2017, 02:47:37 PM »
I’ve decided to start a little discussion about Supreme Leader Snoke, the Big Bad of the sequel trilogy of Star Wars. Now while you are free to talk about what you thought of Snoke, this is not necessarily to debate who he is. You can write your ideas down of who he is and his backstory, but if you want to say you believe in the most popular Snoke theory: that he is Darth Plagueis, you’re welcome to.
Since seeing Force Awakens, I found myself fascinated with Snoke, the enigmatic
leader of the First Order and Kylo Ren's master. He may have had just several minutes
of screentime, but he left an impression on me. I can't wait to see more of Snoke's character
in the next film this December.

Silver Screen / My MLP O.C. (not a pony)
« on: March 24, 2017, 10:35:28 AM »
I originally thought of posting this on the MLP thread, but then I decided making this topic
would have more responses. So here's my story...
After seeing episodes of Generation 4 of My Little Pony, I found myself wondering about the
greatness of the show. Then Discord came along and I cracked a lot at his amusing antics
and the fact that he's a made up creature that is so well done fascinated me. His species,
a "draconequus" would have great potential if there was another draconequus.

So I created my own draconequus O.C. His name is "Blithe", an old word that traditionally
means "happy or lighthearted in spirit". This contrasts with Discord's mischievous character. Anyway, Blithe is a draconequus younger than Discord. His head is horse-like, like Discord,
but his eyes are white with green irises instead of yellow with red irises. He lacks a goatee, and while Discord has an antler and a goat horn, Blithe has identical horns of a gazelle. His head is pale, he has rather scruffy brown hair, he torso is that of a red dragon, his right arm is also of a red dragon, and his left arm is of a fox. His right leg is a kangaroo's, left leg is a wolf's and the tail is shaped like that of an alligator's tail.
Blithe, being a draconequus, possesses reality-bending powers, but his magic is not on
the same level as Discord's "near-omnipotent" magical abilities. One of his specialties
is turning water into lemonade (Blithe is fond of this drink), making candy grow on trees,
and producing floating orbs of light, often for show. The things he cannot do which
Discord has been shown to do include Replication, Hypnosis, and opening portals to
other dimensions.
Before he met the Mane 6 and Discord, Blithe had come from a place beyond Equestria,
hoping to make friends and demonstrate his magic to help and to entertain others. Blithe wasn't mischievous and looking for trouble unlike Discord. He finally met the Mane 6 and they introduced him to Celestia, who arranged for Blithe to meet and get to know the
citizens of Equestria. Knowing that Blithe could be useful as an ally for Equestria, Discord
and Twilight Sparkle both agree to train Blithe to help him learn more skills in magic
and expand his powers. The fact that Discord and Twilight trained Blithe, both being
one of the most powerful users of magic in Equestria, made him able to do things he
previously could not have done. Of course, Blithe never becomes as powerful as Discord,
but he is content in his abilities.
Well that's my O.C. for MLP.

The Fridge / Voice acting
« on: March 23, 2017, 01:21:09 AM »
I've been interested in the art of voice acting for a long while. Some of the more notable voice
actors/actresses I learned about are Frank Welker, Jim Cummings, Tara Strong, Rob Paulsen, and
Tim Curry.
I've tried doing some voice acting myself, and I think I am pretty good at it.
The characters I have done impressions on include Goofy (I can do a good Goofy laugh),
a hillbilly-like character I made up, Stitch from Lilo and Stitch, and even Emperor
Palpatine from Star Wars.
What I learned while doing impressions and looking up information on voice acting is
that while voice acting not only do you change your voice for a character, but you also
adopt the personality and mannerisms for the character you're acting for. My uncle,
who is a big Star Wars fan, said I matched Palpatine's character quite well when
doing an impression of the Sith Lord.
Have you ever tried voice acting? Let me know.
