I am working on a story about a group of fighter pilots.  I think it could use some artwork.  Therefore, I'd like to ask for assistance from some of our artists here.  The first thing I would like would be the squadron's emblom.  The squadron is called Cougar Squadron, also known as the 211th Tactil Fighter Wing.  The emblom is a round circle.  There is a line horizontally across the center of it.  In the upper half, there is a picture of a cougar's head.  Across the top of the emblom, the words "Cougar Squadron follow the curve of the circle.  They are inside it too.  The background of the uper half of the emblom is sky blue.  Then, in the lower half, the words "United States Air Force" run just below the line.  The lower background is also sky blue.  Across the very bottom of the emblom, there is a curved gold ribbon that reads in black letters "211th Tactical Fighter Wing"
If you decide to draw this, make the cougar look fearsome.  Also, I'd like it in color if that is alright.  I can't do this myself because my art skills suck.

I made two different drafts for the emblem. As I don't have a working scanner at hand they will come as photos. But please tell me first what exactly are you going to do with the pictures and second what exactly are the pilots doing, whom are they fighting etc.?

I was just wanting some pictures for the story.  As for who they are fighting, the Cougar Squadron is a squadron that has volunteered to serve in the Brazillian Airforce to fight against a corrupted military dictator who has come to power and taken control of Brazil and Colombia.  His own private airforce ranges from old F-5 Tiger IIs to Mig-21s and Mig-29s.  This discator has bombed the US. Embassy in Brasilia. (weather the U.S. has one there is not known to me but hey, its just a story.)

They are not yet fully colored as I didn't know about your color preferences in the parts not yet painted. My suggestion is to make the rim red and leave the letters white (US colors) with the exception of the word "Air Force" in the first draft which I suggest to be red. The ribbon... oh, rereading your description I see that you already asked for it to be golden, which otherwise would have been my suggestion ;)
As for the two drafts the first one is closer to your description. It leaves somewhat too little room for the mascot in my opinion and only presents the head of the cougar. One should not behead a cougar whom one still wants to employ as a mascot. Also it looks a bit like a cougar's prohibited in this area sign  ;)
Therefore I made the second draft showing a complete cougar leaping at the viewer. It too has it's drawbacks, but it is probably the draft I would vote for if I was a member of that squadron.

Does the color red sound okay for you for the yet uncolored parts (other than the golden ribbon)? :)

Firefox users cannot scroll to the right, Malte.  ;)  I thought there was only one picture there as well...only I have no way of getting to the other one.  :lol:
