Silver Screen / Blindness
« on: December 06, 2008, 02:57:31 PM »
I've watched it yesterday. Although I didn't read the book, the people I went with had and told me it was the first movie they've ever seen that kept an almost 100% fidelity to the novel. Have you seen it? What's your take on it?

The Fridge / Browser Download Issues
« on: August 26, 2008, 06:19:56 PM »
I use firefox, and over the last few days I've been trying to download a 900 mb file, with my internet connection speed it should take about 2 hours, however I'm having a few problems with my internet connection and it goes down every so often making it impossible to finish the download in time. After getting the internet back up again I always have to start the download all over again, the worst time as when I was 15 mb's from completing it, and it crashed. Is there anything I could do so the download would save its progress when the net shuts down and continue on from the point it was stopped?

The Fridge / EU the actual winner of the Olympic Games
« on: August 24, 2008, 11:25:10 AM »
I've done the math, and the whole of European Union countries accounts for a total of 87 gold medals, 101 silver, and 92 bronze, China got 51 gold, 21 silver and 28 bronze, the US got 36 gold, 38 silver, 36 bronze, and Russia got 23 gold, 21 silver and 28 bronze. So the EU beats them all by a long run =P

The Fridge / Little Quiz
« on: August 18, 2008, 09:54:47 AM »
Most people get this question wrong, so let's see how you guys do it:

How many countries does the Iberian Peninsula have? What are they called?

After 10 or so responses, I'll give the right answer, no wikipedia please and trust your knowledge.

(This isn't a new game, just a little test I'd like to try out)

LBT Projects / It Takes All Sorts
« on: February 09, 2008, 09:07:42 PM »
In 1997 I recorded LBT IV, when it aired here. The thing is they aired the European Portuguese version, or standard version, which was never soled on VHS or DVD. I've managed to pass the video from the VHS, to a DVD and to my PC.

I intend to upload it to youtube as soon as it starts working, in the meanwhile I've uploaded it to my blog, here's the link:

It Takes All Sorts

It doesn't get any rarer than this. I prefer this version of the song to the original in english, it's natural that most of you guys don't understand the lyrics but I at least hope you like the voices as much as I do.

Silver Screen / Control
« on: November 18, 2007, 12:34:07 PM »
Anton Corbijn's biopic of Ian Curtis. I've been waiting a couple of years to see it, I finally saw it last thursday. I came out of the theater just speechless, when they played atmosphere right in the end a chill climed through my spine. A great movie, Ian couldn't have been imortalized in a better way.

Here's the trailer: Control

The Fridge / Denver, the Last Dinosaur
« on: August 28, 2007, 09:55:08 AM »
Did you watch it? Did you like it? I was crazy about this as a kid, even more than I was about LBT, although I knew Denver before LBT. I always had my dad rent the same old tape over and over again, at the video club. They're rerunning it on Canal Panda, I watch every time I can, now I see that the plots are always silly, and don't make much sense, but it's still a very funny show, and it does speak out towards some issues like the environment and preservation of endangered species.

Silver Screen / Jurassic Park IV
« on: August 27, 2007, 01:49:35 PM »
There's been a lot of talk about this movie. Do you know when it'll be released? Anything new besides the fact they'll use marine reptiles this time?

Sound Off! / Yeah Yeah Yeahs new EP
« on: August 27, 2007, 11:07:53 AM »

The Fridge / Champeons League Draw
« on: August 27, 2007, 11:03:18 AM »
I'm a Sporting CP supporter, my team will be represented in pot 3. I think we have a very good side, we lost Nani to Man Utd, and Tello to Besiktas, but the new players so far are doing the job, even though our 1-0 defeat at Porto's home this weekend.
Depending on the draw, I think we have a good chance to reach the last 16's, and with a bit of luck advance to the quarter-finals. What are your hopes for your own sides in this years competition? Which teams would you like to meat?

1988 Theatrical Release / Littlefoot, the Messiah
« on: August 26, 2007, 10:51:33 AM »
I was re-watching the original movie the other day, and couldn't help but wonder about the scene were Littlefoot was born. All those animals going there to watch him, everybody's attention on him, it kind of looks like he's a larger than life character, some kind of hope (which is what the narrator refers to him, as the last hope for the future of that family)

Attic Treasures / The Land Before Time Book
« on: August 23, 2007, 02:18:29 PM »
I know Malte has it. Who's the author? Is it any good? Where can I find it? Is it worth it? Was it written before the actual movie?

Attic Treasures / How long have you written?
« on: August 23, 2007, 02:16:38 PM »
What I'm asking is how long was the longest story, novel, or whatever that you've ver written. My longest one had 13 word pages, which is to say about 6000 words, I wrote it in an afternoon, I had a case of the inspiration flu :D
I called it: "One day I'll fly Away" in Portuguese.
