Ask Me / Re: Littlefoot1616's Q&As
« on: January 31, 2021, 03:06:09 PM »
That I can surprisingly enough.

I can play descent and tenor recorder (one's bigger than the other but they fundamentally play the same) and I can play piano.

Can't sight-read music but I can read and decipher it (by which I mean write every note underneath; cheeky cheat I know  :taunttroll). My brother taught me to read tablature for guitar but whilst I can understand it, the only interaction I can reliably replicate is when the player goes ham-wild on stage and smashes the instrument into whatever happens to be closest.  :rhett_smile. Suppose the greatest accomplishment I can say whilst playing guitar is that I know the opening to Enter Sandman by Metallica (thanks bro  :ChomperPOG ) and the running thread of Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes... which happens to be seven notes...

Hey, I never said I was any good at it.  :spikeblush

Gamers Zone / Re: Your best and worst moments in video games?
« on: January 30, 2021, 09:47:10 AM »
Almost too many awesome and awful gaming moments to count but here are a couple of my most standout ones:

Best: When I completed Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair back in 2019 (just that alone would have been enough) but my stream was raided by Playtonic Games; the actual creators of the game!  :)littlefoot. The lead artists, the heads of the studio, VO actors (despite they all talk in Banjo-Kazooie sound effects), QA staff, Promotional staff, musical composers (not Grant Kirkhope sadly but still honoured to have them there). A lot of them were present. And on my 16th try (yes, it took that many tries), I cleared the game! Was an amazing sense of accomplishment. Can't thank Playtonic enough for joining me for that.

Worst: Every gamer has a bad day and even worse when it comes through to your favourite past times. Playing Resident Evil 3: Nemesis for the PS1 (not the latest one) the courtyard fight with big old Nemi about halfway through the game. For whatever reason, and despite beating him before, I just could not get the better of him and failed an embarrassing number of times.  :lfsadface
Turns out, I made certain choices in the game's "Live Selection" parts which meant certain actions do/do not occur. On this occasion, and little did I know, the selection I made did not make Carlos appear at the start of this fight whereby he destroys Nemesis's rocket launcher and deal some damage to him in a cutscene before the fight starts. I raged so hard that I aggravated the rest of my household and my mum flew into my room demanding I turn it off.  :littlefootangry
Kinda glad she did coz when I went back to it the following day, I aced it without a issue.

Would love to reprise my role but I'm willing to allow someone else a chance at Littlefoot if they fancy it.

A TV episode might be cool coz there are episodes with more side characters and a bigger list of roles to choose from. Evidently, it depends on how many people are interested. No point going for one with 16 different roles if only 3 people turn up for try outs.

It's been a long time coming but can't wait for it to show.

Huge thanks to Mumbling for the time, effort and privilege of working on this amazing project. Would happily go for the role again should it come to be.

Another huge congrats and thanks to everyone that's worked on the project. haven't felt love and adoration for the LBT series like this in a long time.

Was great fun to do! Looking forward to it!  :)littlefoot

Grand to see a fellow player of the "Ori" series. I too have been playing Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Haven't gotten too far but liking the changes to the original game as well as the beautiful aesthetic, music and art style.

As well as that, I'm also playing Hades which is a fantastic roguelite from SuperGiant games (makers of Bastion and Transistor). The playing loop is great, combat is slick and fast-paced (not quite Bayonetta or Devil May Cry quick but still got to retain your focus), the player-boss encounters change up so just when you get familiar with tackling one boss, a new variant comes into play that forces you to change up your battle strategy. Zagreus is a brilliant protagonist, as bold and brash as he is charming as are the supporting cast. Even the snide and damning remarks from the titular Hades himself (he's your dad just for context). A worthwhile look for anyone interested.

As well as (as well as) that, I also fell into the nostalgia trap of getting the Super Mario 3D All Stars collection. Yeah, I know it was a baited pitfall playing on the nostalgic grip of old gamers dangling the treat in front of us whilst calling "C'mon puppy! Jump! Who's a good boy!" but hey, I remembered it fondly back then and playing them now, with a few visual and gameplay tweaks, makes me smile  :ChomperPOG Mostly...

That penguin slip-n-slide race on Cool Cool Mountain and burn for all I care! Cheating git! :petriemad

Can't lie (well... can lie; just won't), the line up of games for PS5 does look pretty good. Hardly matters though if they are going to be going cross platform. Just a sign of the "console war" getting more and more pointless as a phrase to keep saying.

Liking the line up though. Gonna wait a time before leaping at one though. Let all the day one acquirers "F and blind" about how this, that and the other doesn't work as they expect.

In due time however... in due time

It's been a while but diving into (pun intended) Subnautica. I know a few people on the forum have given this a try but testing out the PS4 version and enjoying it so far.

Can check out my exploits on my Twitch channel if anyone is interested  :ChomperPOG

Don't suppose there has been any update on the remaining lines to be recorded?

I know I'm not one to talk seeing as I, myself, held up production due to my..err... not-doing-ness  :rhett_smile

Still, I'm hyped to see our work in action after such a long wait time. Any news would be good news :^^spike

Finally getting around to playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake and loving it for the most part.

That's off the back of finishing Resident Evil 3 (also remake). Really need to finish Luigi's Mansion 3 and Astral Chain on the Switch as well. So many great games to choose from. Spoilt for choice!  :chompysmile

It was an interesting showcase for sure and I like the design as well as the library of games intended for it. A good show to be sure.

But I doubt I will be snagging one just yet because there is so much more I wish to play and enjoy with my current generation consoles before leaping blindly at a new iteration. Let's face it, a lot of gen 1 consoles always have teething problems and by the time you've bought into it, they are already working on version 2 which is the "we've learned from our previous mistakes" model whereby storage space is larger, graphical tweaking and performance improves and that one grand idea that wasn't at day one release suddenly pops up.

I will probably land me a PS5 some time in the future but I'm just gonna sit this one back a while.

Was nice to see some new projects on the loose but until they get a little more production time and air time, I'll be cautiously optimistic.

After all, I've been pleasantly surprised by game titles in the past. Truly waiting for the next one to really take my fancy. Last one to really rock me was Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair.

Waiting to be surprised again ;)Cera
