I was so mad when i didn't get one on Nov 19. Someone got the last one before me at future shop. I was left with Zelda: Twilight Princess but no Wii and i don't think reading the instuction manuel 50 times didn't help at all. After that i phoned every store that would have them in stock every day until 4 days after EB games got 3 Wiis in. So i rushed over there and got one. Unitl recentley there hasn't been that many Wiis in stock so im glad i didn't have to wait too long.

I had no intentions of buying any system on launch day, but I did get one for -nondenominational winter giving event- and my grandma actually found it :p she called my mom and said "hey is this that W-I-I machine that [Tails] was looking for?" W-I-I is pronounced doubleyou eye eye

Ah, the Wii!  My most favorite of the Next Gen. Consoles!  I was crazy about this system before it even came out.  It was a gaming system I had always dreamed of having being one step closer.  To be honest, I thought we wouldn't have this kind of technology for at least two more generations.  But here it is, the most fun gaming system ever.

Getting this thing was the main thing that upseted me.  I had a plan to buy it around Christmas.  How big of a mistake that was.  I couldn't find it anywhere.  So, about 3 weeks into Janurary, I went on-line and searched endlessly for it.  The only thing I could find was a bundle pack for Wii for more than $600. (This included tax and shipping and handling.) The ONLY good game out of the Bundle Pack was Twilight Princess, which I had already gotten for Christmas.  I transfered money from my Savings Account and bought it with my Debit Card.  I waited paitently, and it soon came.

I have a few games I actually enjoy on it at this moment.  There's Twilight Princess, Rampage: Ultimate Destruction, Sonic and the Secret Rings, TMNT, Super Paper Mario, Mario Party 8 and Pokemon: Battle Revolution.  I don't have much of a good time on Wii Play or Wii Sports, which I also own.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl that are all going to come out this year.  And the first Wii game I'm going to buy next year, is... Mario Kart Wii.

I can't wait for these 4 great games to come out.  Super Smash Bros. Brawl may be a last minute canidate, but I'm expecting it to get the 2007 Game of the Year Award.  Just like Twilight Princess was near last minute and got the 2006 Game of the Year Award.  There's reason it won that award.  There's no doubt about how good it truly is. :^.^:

As were I. I have, and always be, a nintendo fan. I have been waiting for the Wii to come out before E32005, back then it was codenamed revolution.

:DD those are all the games i'm buying. The games i have at the moment are Zelda TP, Trauma Centre SO, Metal Slug Anthology and Super Paper Mario. I've beaten twice, second time with 3 hearts, and gotten everything in the game except the sinking lure. I've beaten all the operations in Trauma Centre including the 7 bonus, exteme operations, beaten all the metal slug games, and beaten Super Paper Mario twice, second time beating it i was level 5 or 6.
For VC i have:
-Paper Mario which i''m currently working on (hoping it will last until Aug 27)
-Star Fox 64 which i play sometimes on my spare time, beat all the levels.
-Donkey Kong Country, finished and have about 80% secrets found
-DKC 2 DKQ, finished with 102%
-Zelda: Link to the Past, finished
-Zelda II: finished (which is good enough for me!)
-Kirby's Adventure, finished
-Sonic 1 & 2 and i've finished both of them.

I would be surprised if it didn't, even with Halo 3 comin out in Sept.

Perhaps we can have a match on SSBB (if nintendo keeps its promise of making SSBB online) or a race on Mario Kart when they come out Pokeplayer

I've had one since Dec. 25th, 2006. Great system that remembers that it is a game console, not a DVD player. The only game I've disliked (that I've played) thus far for the Wii is Wii Boxing. It made me want to put my fists through the screen, so to speak.   <_<

I'm not really too impressed with the Wii. I don't really hate it, but I just never had interest in getting it. I'm not sure why Clint wanted it. Maybe it's because he's more interested in Nintendo than I am.

Yeah. The Wii.
I bought it since launch.  :^.^:

It's a really fun system.
I only have Zelda: TP,
Wii Sports, Wii Play,
Mario Strikers Charged Football and
Kororinpa.

The next games I buy would be
Mario Galaxy,
Soul Calibur Legends,
Super Paper Mario,
Fire Emblem,
Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk and of course
Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

Ugh...Brawl will come out in December 3rd in the US.
And I have to wait next year till it comes in Europe.   :(

I eargerly await our match. I'm not sure what character i would pick, all of the new characters anouced looks pretty promising, well, except Wario. Until the game comes out, i'll be fighting lvl 9 bots in SSBM without breaking a sweat (I have been known to sweat after a couple of intense Smash Bros matches).

Well i never really liked Jigglypuff as a Pokemon, and it seemed like such a weird choice of pokemon out of the 151 they could choose from when the first Smash was released. I think Mewtwo was a better Pokemon to add in Melee. I'm not saying that they shouldn't be in the game, but i don't think it would be a interesting character choice for me. You never know though, Wario might surprise me he might be an exellent character to play as, i'm just not to fond of him.

Pikachu, Pichu, Jigglypuff, and Mewtwo were the playable PokÈmons in Super Smash Bros. Melee. I actually think that Pichu was the weirdest choice to include, as Pikachu is already in the game, so why pick a different evolutionary stage? There were better choices. Jigglypuff actually doesn't seem to out of place for me. Besides, I've used it twice to do the infamous Event Match 51 with no falls using the famed "Jigglypuff strategy."

As I remember hearing, so far, Pikachu is the only confirmed PokÈmon to appear in Brawl.

I never tried to beat event match 51 with no falls, i would probably get too frusterated. I have beaten it twice though, once with Link and another with Ganondorf.

Well, if you ever want to know who's on it, check out this page: http://www.smashbros.com (http://www.smashbros.com)

Just click on charcters, and you'll see who's all there is so far.  Of course, months ago Nintendo promised 50+, and I expect them to keep such a promise.  Even if it means yet another delay. :^.^:

Oh, and a little nitpicking question.  Can you guess what nickname many SSB fans give Jigglypuff? :D

Funnily enough, my Wii is the very first console I've actually gone out and purchased myself! All my other consoles were shared presents with siblings for Xmas or birthday presents. I've had my Wii since my recent birthday and I love it!

Games list:

Resi 4 (actually own all versions of resi 4 on all formats LOL  :DD )
Zelda:TP
Red Steel
Big Brain Academy
Sonic & Secret Rings
Wii Sports
Wii Play

As with the majority of Wii owners (and soon to be owners) all the raved about games I'm gunning for too. Metroid 3, SSBB, Mario Galaxy, Umbrella Chronicles etc. I do hope that some of the other games coming out for the other formats will make an appearance on the Wii.

More than once, I've heard the Wii referred to as a "GameCube with a fancy controller". Comments like these won't detour me from getting a Wii someday, but I have to wonder about the comments, the people making the comments, and the console itself....

Has anyone checked out the new gameplay footage and displays at the latest E3? There were quite a lot in regards to Metroid 3, Mario Galaxy and a few others. Check out Gamespot or IGN.com for some of the updated vids. Doesn't Metroid 3 hit the US shelves pretty soon? We've got October as our expected release but I'm sure it's in America's stores in the next few weeks.

So here's a question:
Who else is STILL having a hard time finding a Wii in their hometown?  Our stores are still out of stock 24/7, even with supplies coming in regularily.  After this long, the system is still selling like snowballs in July!  I want my Wii but I cant' get one! :P:

2 remotes, 1 nunchuk (the 2nd remote came with Wii Play)

A friend brought over his and I reached the "pro" level on Wii bowling in about twelve games. :p :p  Like Pogo bowling, find a sweet spot and you can score all day.  I tried the golf one too and I tried to be mr macho and nail it over an out of bounds area onto the green...didn't make it.

Great concept, but my arms have ached for days afterward even if I only was doing this for less than an hour. :(
Title: Wii
Post by: pokeplayer984 on September 15, 2007, 01:47:25 PM
Well Petrie, a little secret about Wii Sports is that the Wiimote function for the game is VERY sensitive.  This extreme amount of sensitivity allows you to be able to use only the smallest movements to make amazing shots in games like Wii Golf.  A simple movement of the wrist is plenty to get up to 200 yards off with the wedge.  It just takes practice to figure it all out. :)

Nintendo sure knew what they were doing right from the start of this one. :^.^:

You bet!
Some of the "usual suspects" I'm looking to pick up are SSBB and Mario Kart.  Other than that, I'll just play it by ear and see what my friends and I agree would be amusing :p
I bought this almost exclusively as a social gaming system.  I probably won't use it much on my own (I might do a little bowling though, because that's fun and I need practice :p).

I have a question that mabey one of you Wii owners can answer.

I don't have one yet, but it is my understanding that, when you pay money to download a Virtual Console game, or to "license" it for you to play on the Wii, you can back it up on a Wii memory card, but you can only play that particular game on the particular Wii console you downloaded it on. My question is what happens if the Wii console you downloaded that game on gets damaged beyond repair? Are you unable to play your VG console games you legitimately own?
Title: Wii
Post by: WeirdRaptor on November 13, 2007, 05:54:12 PM
I hadn't really thought about it, I suppose you'd have to start from scratch if Nintendo doesn't just let you have the games back fro free or for a discount. The reason you can only play the Downloaded games on your particular Wii is to protect Nintendo from being pirated.
Title: Wii
Post by: Manny Cav on November 13, 2007, 05:58:14 PM
That stinketh. If there's no way to play the VC games without having to pay to be able to play them again, that'll discourage me from using that feature. I hope that piracy protect thing doesn't apply to the gamesaves on the Wii memory cards, as well.
Title: Wii
Post by: Keni on November 14, 2007, 09:50:38 AM
If you send your Wii to Nintendo for repairs they might transfer all of your purchased VC games to a new one if it comes to that. However, I think that's done if your Wii is still under warranty.

I also think that's why they give you the option of linking your My Nintendo Account in the Wii Shop Channel page. By doing so the VC games you purchase will be added to your My Games list in your My Nintendo Account. So if you get another Wii just go to said Wii's Shop Channel and link your My Nintendo Account to it and you can download the ones already purchased before that are in your My Games list.

I may be wrong though, that's just what I believe linking your My Nintendo account to your Shop Channel does. I hope it does just that, though.
