Looks like they are finally getting back to business. This is from donbluth.com:
We do have plans to produce a prequel movie to the game Dragon's Lair, a feature-length film, which will provide the audience with the backstory of the characters of that game, Dirk the Daring, Daphne, Mordroc, and the dragon, Singe. We have a slate of eight feature films we want to make, none are sequels. All are new concepts, either based on published books or are original stories we've conceived.

He's had plans to produce new stuff for years now. How is this any different from before?
I'm not trying to be a wet blanket here, but is there anything beyond "planning" that would actually merit us getting our hopes up?
-
I waited for Dragon's Lair for years too.
-
Didn't Don Bluth do a new movie last year? I think it was called Gift of the Hoopoe?
-
That was just a short. While it counts, it can also mean thatg he a ways to work before we see another feature length filmout of him.
-
Well I hope we get a new Bluth movie soon. Maybe Gift of the Hoopoe was a sign that Bluth is thinking or returning. One can only hope.
-
Considering he's into his 70s, these eight films of his had better be soon. I wanna last blaze of glory from this man before he sits at the big sketching desk in the sky.
-
i agree. i'd like to see one last great bluth film.. his last few weren't as good.

Unfortunately nobody wants to fund the guy anymore.
I'd like to see another Bluth film as much as anyone, but realistically I don't see him getting the money to pull it off.
