The Fridge / The Gang of Five in General
« on: October 31, 2011, 05:18:10 PM »
Hi, still new to this forum but snooping around bit by bit : )  I have a few questions now.

How does the ranking work, exactly?  I know some forums have that when the pictures change, I was just curious what the intervals are.

And second- how'd you guys get so many posts? XD  I saw some with 1, 2, 3, 11,000!  Oh so I'm curious where that comes from.  Roleplay maybe?  I do come on once in awhile and the active topics day to day don't number that high, so I was wondering where the action is happening in here.  Don't want to miss something!

Also- I suppose I could figure this one out myself but- how old is this forum?
And what is it's reigning premise and history?  Everything that sticks around long enough has a story and I'm wondering what this one's is.

Hmm, maybe I'll come up with more questions later XD  I'm just a curious sort of person.

1988 Theatrical Release / Littlefoot remembers his own birth. What?

Yes, probably a summary ^^  I don't think he's actively conjuring up the imagery but moreso the nature of telling (and closing) the tale

Mmm, I think it's just making up theories to make a plot hole seem like not a plot hole ^^  It probably is a hole, but it's pretty small.
Also consider that the Valley is a secret among the talking herbivores; and the carnivores tend to be mute and without working social groups half the time.

It was just kinda poor taste, with no thought.  They knew what kind of reaction they were getting

Psychedelia, apparently.  I don't do drugs, but I love psychedelic music, art, animation.  I felt very sad yesterday when I showed my friends a clip from "Yellow Submarine" and they were horrified.  I think it's lovely, creative expression, and wish it was free and common again for people to think and express like that.  Feels like after that time, 60s-70s, people got scared of expressing anything exotic and wonderful happening in their head.

General Land Before Time / Your Thoughts on the LBT Villain Songs
« on: October 28, 2011, 09:33:51 AM »
Haha, I kind of agree with mumbling a bit, the song additions were more like adding a sing-along more than to turn the plot of the story.  However the "eggs" song from (2 I think?) always kinda made me laugh and facepalm.

1988 Theatrical Release / Born this way?
« on: October 27, 2011, 11:43:01 PM »
I think it was just another way of introducing the characters as they came along.  Petrie, ducky, cera, all kind of fell into LF's lap so to speak, in different ways.  I suppose it'd be a little redundant also if spike just ended up that way?  Also, I think they cite the fact that he is new is the reason that he can barely talk (though, with as many sequels as there are, it's probable that he would learn by then)  But it'd be hard to take away such a notable feature of a character ^^

Wow fantastic, hehe, that was interesting to hear ^^

I myself am a bit of a closet-case poop watcher.  Yes, must watch everything...
Spaghetti!  :DD

I hope you climb out of highschool alive, hehe.  I really like the creativity level here, then.  Cool to see people actively talking about this ^-^  I hope I make a lot of friends too!

That is fine Pangaea, love to hear about you :D
Haha!  Yeah I tend to associate myself with the Kiwibirds but also the fruit.  I have this fascination with flightless birds, kind of xD  That and of course them two-legged dinosaurs.
I like to meet people so interested in learning about various lifeforms and sciences.  Yes, I am a pretty timid person in real life too.  Long windedness is fine, I think it's like all the things you want to say in real life just get spilled here on the net sometimes, but when honestly are you going to meet people interested in your things unless it's special interest rings such as this?  Rare for me atleast, indeed!

Thank you Justin!

Thank you both, and lol I get that a lot : )  Nope it's just a nonsense nickname I came up with during my first forays on the internet some 12 years ago.  I've kept it ever since  :DD   I am just your average american.

Wow that's cool Pterano  :lol
Yes I can tell who your favorite is ; )

Good good!  I don't feel so old.  I really like the idea of traveling and mixing with other cultures (I find it as a challenge, see how well I can blend in and merge) It sounds like a good idea.  I find it hard to choose a career too.  Right now I'm double majoring in art and computer science, there are lots of things I "like" but well, I never gave it much thought how to narrow it down :rolleyes so I feel silly sometimes talking about my aspirations

Hehe, I never used to read fanfics but now I know someone that does em, now I pay a little more attention.  I have really good memories of text  based rps too, I haven't done a proper one in years.

Actually my main love for rp was from doing a jurassic park one, which was hilatiously fun and I am so fond of.  I'd been into that one since I was 8, though didn't start writing it and rping it until I was 13ish.  Haven't added to it in forever but still lives : )  Now I think I know why this place feels so cozy and familiar, it has dinosaurs, people who love them, and for some reason both had "5" in the name :DD  But I digress, I love any place like that.

Mumbling- Oh woops!  I'm not used to this place yet, so I got it wrong.  Interesting though that leadership has gotten passed around.

Thank you Chiletrek!

Oh!  So many neat replies ^^

Jansenov you sound like an interesting person.  I have to say I enjoy my topics on science though I don't keep up with them as much anymore.  I decided not to choose a career in science because I knew it wouldn't have the glory it seems to have when people think about it ( for ex, you're not raising the dead or molding new species, it would be more like studying certain things and making reports on them )  not to say that I don't enjoy being science minded also though.  I liked to join this community to stimulate my interest in dinosaurs, animation, and other concepts that may be brought up : )  Also I am undeniably nostalgic.  I like to learn a lot about things that most other people don't give much notice.

Hehe, hearing what other people say helps me know what I can add.

Kor - Yeah, I am pretty much too : )

Hi Mumbling!  I think it's you who owns the site, thanks for stoppin by : )  And hehe, it's my longtime internet handle : >

Thank you Malte, LF and Kanganix : )
