This will be a thread in which we use to discuss the YouTube videos of the official LBT channel. Thanks to Sneak who recommended this idea.

Now feel free to laugh at the channel if you want to, because let’s face it, aren’t all of the titles for the videos generated in the present era just clickbait?

Had no idea that channel even existed until recently, and honestly if you ask me i find it's existence kind of unsettling. It's nice to be able to watch the tv episodes in HD for free, though.

This was one of the first videos I saw on the LBT channel and honestly...? I still don't know. I think they gave up after cutting up two clips from X and just assumed the ending would be funny. And to me it's pretty clear nobody actually watches these videos before uploading them, because of things like this:

They also have a habit of calling Ozzy and Strut Velociraptors for some reason. (Guys Ozzy literally calls himself a Struthiomimus in song pay attention :p )
But on the plus side, it is good to be able to watch the TV series on there seeing as it can be difficult to find the episodes anywhere else. Also it's interesting to see how many views they have on their videos, the sharpteeth compilation videos seem especially popular. :thinking

Honestly, I started to feel negativity towards this channel since the very first days, after they started to upload episodes of TV Series endlessly right after they successfully uploaded all 26 episodes in first 26 videos. гг
Then clips came, and I watched only couple of them before I gave up...
Wish they made more sensible and informative content.
Yeah, only good thing about this channel is ability to watch episodes from TV Series in full HD.
And I don't believe something good or unexpected will be released in near future.

As others have stated though, it is a nice gesture to the fans how they uploaded all the TV series episodes. More generally, I am happy there's an official LBT YT channel (even if it's rather cheaply run) to help spread awareness of the series and hopefully draw in some new fans (it's how @ImpracticalDino discovered LBT even). But beyond that, the biggest value in the channel is to poke fun at it I'd say. :P

So we are all not the only ones who saw this, shows that the channel puts little effort in thumbnails and titles.

I really want them to add the songs from the movies with footage. Pokeplayer used to be the man for that before Universal copy-striked him (and a few other people) over and over for literal years. Throw those bad boys on the YouTube channel, they'd get buco views

Y'all, you got to realize that if somebody wasn't updating the LBT YouTube, the series would just be forgotten. This might be the only way some people experience the series, and the channel's success is good for the franchise. I'm personally on board with them doing whatever they like to recycle content to get clicks, cause clicks are the lifeblood of any possible future for LBT.

Honestly I think it is a great thing that the channel exists and the numbers on there are pretty promising as well (by the looks of it, it's gaining around 1000 new subscribers daily). But I'm still gonna poke fun at the quality of some of its stuff. :p

With that said, I'm happy they've started uploading some decent clips from the movies, too. I wonder if they'll upload anything from the first film eventually... mind you, I suppose other channels have clips from that covered.

Yeah there's a lot of clickbaity stuff in there, having had a proper look through. I don't think I can bring myself to hate the channel since it is giving LBT a decent bit of attention, but yeah it's laughable some of the stuff they put on it.

The funniest thing on the LBT YouTube channel is the name "Big Trees and Falling Leaves" and the thumbnail of Mr. Clubtail and Cera.

Despite everything it's great that every episode are available in HD on their channel. Them being so active wouldn't be so negative I think, maybe a bit silly with their video titles and compilations sometimes, but content is out there at least with good quality, that would suffice. :chomper

I don't remember which vid it was, thus I can't link it, but one of the episode comps had a description of a scene from the original movie in it despite no clips from the film being present in the video. Typos aren't the only thing that slips under their radar (if they have one, surely they don't). :rolleyes

The Velociraptor gaffe was enough to make me not fully trust anything they claim; if they call Ozzy and Strut velociraptors when Ozzy outright calls himself a Struthiomimus in his song, I don't see reason to trust the channel calling the sharptooth from V a Giganotosaurus or the X crocodile a Sarcosuchus.\
Well, props to the channel for providing HD sequel footage, at least.

Lowkey impressed at their Playlist organization (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGTPGtMd8ydRNsTcKaDwF1w/playlists), they structure it based on what sequel each video comes from, or whether it's a Tv episode. I'm fighting tooth and nail to get my company to do similarly, too bad I can't point them to the LBT channel and be like "Can we do it like this?" :lol

Since the videos are made for YT Kids, I chalk it up to easy boredom buster for kids wanting something to watch for a few hours (the episodes) and giving them a reason to want to see the full movies after viewing some of the clips. As far as movie clips go, I think they give away a liiiiiittle too much to get kids to want to see them in full. And what will they do when they’re done with the movie clips? They’re on XIII, so probably another month or so left.

They will most likely reupload the movie clips multiple times with different titles just like they do with all of their tv series content. They could also upload clips from the original film but that would be too scary for the kiddies. :facepalm

Actually, that's a good point: Why haven't they uploaded anything from the original film? They put a detailed enough description of it in every other video. Unless they're saving it until after they've uploaded the clips from JotB as a best till last thing although I kinda doubt that. I know a lot of other YT channels have the original movie covered but the actual LBT channel might as well make the ad revenue since the original attracts a wider range of people. Weird. :thinking

Might involve ownership issues. That's usually what happens when there's a really obvious piece of something missing (Crunchyroll fans see it a lot with missing 'bonus episodes' or OVAs of various anime). Remember at first the channel had exclusively TV show stuff and only later started getting sequel content, they may still be negotiating with somebody somewhere who would technically qualify for a slice of revenue if the theatrical movie started getting clipped on the official YouTube.

Yeah, that’s the only thing good about this YouTube channel. Just having a way to watch the TV series on YouTube without buying a DVD or pirate the series is pretty cool.
But to be honest, lately I’ve been starting to collect the TV series DVDs because it feels more natural watching the series on DVD than using the internet to watch the series.
I mean, sure there’s only 25 episodes that were released on DVD (including the one that was released as a bonus feature on the LBT XIII DVD) with one completely out of the picture and requires you to watch it on YouTube if your trying to binge-watch.
But at least it feels natural watching on DVD, even though 1 episode never made it on DVD. Still, pretty cool how everyone in the world pretty much has a way to watch the TV series without using a third-party site like Kiss Cartoon or something.

The "Chomper Drowns" title and representing thumbnail is like some Horror story episode that exists as a lost episode. Comically, the people behind this decision know that the animation never contains anything remotely as drastic to a main character in the series actually dying a watery death.

I'm so sad that YouTube kids disables comments on practically everything involving animated shows. Half the fun of a YouTube vid is scrolling down and seeing what random people had to say on the topic, now whenever I look up practically anything on my favorite shows I get these uninteractive videos you can't do anything but watch. I get why they did it, but I'm not a fan as a consumer

On the Land Before Time channel, yes it is annoying that they are being ultimately spammy by reuploading episodes with different titles and thumbnails multiple times.

The kids on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and random other sites have working comment sections, I'm not sure what makes YouTube different. I'm not sure I'd call the logic "obvious" myself, especially as a YouTuber who makes safe-for-all-ages content but has to mark every single video as "not for kids" because I'd rather not delete the only avenue through which my community can meaningfully interact with my videos and each other.
