Title: Windows Themes
Post by: landbeforetimelover on August 24, 2007, 07:23:32 AM
Hello all.  This is the easiest theme in the world to install.  It's the zune theme.  I'll have many more themes yet to come, so check back.  I have recently discovered that some people do not know of the windows scheme changing.  It is truely sad that some are forced to live with those awful windows colors such as blue, silver, and olive green.  Here is a new theme I found.  It's not as good as mine, but it's a heck of a lot easier to install and use than one of the hacker created themes.  Here's what it looks like:

Here is the download link to install this windows theme:

http://www.driveway.com/mjjde46442 (http://www.driveway.com/mjjde46442)

I have personally tested this on 4 computers and I know it works.  Although I don't use this theme personally, this would be my second choice.  I hope you enjoy it!

♪"And that old man is meeee!"♪

Seriously, though, I've lived with those three colors since I ever used XP, and I don't find them "awful". It would be good if there were as many colors for the 'XP style' as there were for the 'Classic style'. However, I don't hardly do any theme or screen saver downloading. Those themes of your's actually remind me of Vista -- too much, actually, since there's a Vista computer in the household, and I loathe Vista with a passion. Too buggy, too many compatibility issues, too much anything that makes using a computer harder to use than it should be. Do you have anything that won't remind me of Macintosh incarnate?

NEW THEME!  Please tell me in this topic if you want it.  I don't want to upload something that no one wants.  Here's some screenshots of this new theme:

NOTE:  this theme comes in black instead of blue as well.  It is just one of the options that comes with it.  No need to ask for a different color. :)

The theme name is Assult2.  Just ask for it!

PROTIP: Rename the files so that they end in ".msi" (no quote marks). That'll fix it.

Anyway, I'm a green kinda guy. Got 'nything in green?

I'm afraid I only have one green option. <_<

Also, it's not my file.  I know how to make file extentions.  Driveway.com screws it up and tries to save it as html sometimes. :(

Incidentally, I had a dream last night where I had an XBOX 360 (I think it was the "vanilla version"). Weird, since I've never even wanted one that bad.

EDIT: Hahaha. You know what? I just download the Zune theme just to see what it would look like. It actually doesn't look as Vista-ish as I though it would (for one, I can't get the Vista style buttons to appear on the title bars of programs, but it's not like I wanted them to, anyway). I like the color styles. Simple, yet different. Though I can't get the Start button to be anything but orange on this theme. I still like it, though.

Post by: landbeforetimelover on August 25, 2007, 06:05:04 PM
I have recently discovered that you require a program to work with these themes.  If you would meet me over msn, I would be happy to give it to you.  I'm afraid that applying these themes without the assistance of that program is extremely difficult.  I even had a hard time doing it.  Anyways, meet me over msn and I'll give it to ya. :)
Title: Windows Themes
Post by: Manny Cav on August 25, 2007, 06:08:32 PM
Do some of these themes require a program? Because when I downloaded the Zune theme, I got an MSI file (I had to add the .msi extension myself). All I had to do is install it. Are these others more complicated and not "the easiest theme in the world to install"?
Title: Windows Themes
Post by: landbeforetimelover on August 25, 2007, 06:21:43 PM
These other themes are almost impossible to install without my program, but with my program, they're even easier to install than the zune one.  The zune theme is the only standalone theme BTW.  The other one's such as raptor and wisp require that program.  It's free, you just need to install the program and tell it to app;y the theme. :D

You need my program to apply it.  I'm just going to post it here.  To obtain a activation code, please pm me.

This is the trial version of the program.  If you want the activation code, please pm me.

Please do not share your code with others.  I have legally purchased these codes  but I purchased too many by mistake.  I bought one code for each of my computers, but in reality, one code covers up to 5 computers.  I now have nearly 450 licenses that I no longer need and that I can give to others according to the end licence agreemant.  Oh well.  The program isn't expensive anyways.

Some of those are really busy and would interfere with my ability to read fonts.  Not saying they're bad, but too much of subtle images and fancy coloring can really hurt ones eyes after being at computers for so much time at once.

I agree with you completely Petrie.  I would only consider 4 out of my close to 900 themes to actually use myself.  Most of these themes I find totally inappropriate and unappealing.  It doesn't bother some people for some reason.  Everyone likes something.
