I am starting a trivia tornament. The topics will be History Politics, Movies, Books and Mixed Bag.
There will be a total of 10 questions per catergory, with values ranging from 100 to 1000. I will need at least 8 players. 2 players per match, final is best-of 3.

Alright. And what is to be done in the game?

The object is to get more points than your opponent. Questions have point values ranging from 100 to 1000. People are seeded based on a first come first seed basis. So you're #2 Malte and you'll play the seventh person who joins the game.

Where are the questions? And who decides their value? A question may seem like a 100 point question to you but like a 1000 point question to me and vice versa.

6 players is all we'll need. The top 2 seeds will get byes, and the other 4 will play in the first round. Since we only have a few regulars, It is only natural to decrease the number of peoople competing. BTW, Malte, when you pick a catergory, you also pick the point value for the question I will ask.

What I''m wondering is because not everyone can get on as often as everyone else, Nick should set up a set time amount (say 48 hours) for one person to reply to the question to give them a chance to.

Yes, I resign. Point is, this is just taking a long time, and the other members that agreed to it are going to forget or just lose interest. Do something like two questions, and move on.
Also, for the next round, make a new topic and put the members competing against each other in the subject line so they know to look in the post. ;)
P.S. I highly doubt Brian will be able to participate considering he's moving to a new place and won't have internet access anymore. I'll ask him if I see him tomorrow but I think its a safe bet if you remove him and try to get Inle-rah to fill his place. ;) I'll let you know what he plans to do.

(Hate to butt in, but I know Drew (WierdRaptor) hasn't been here much as of late but that would'nt have been fair to him at all since he never even had a chance at a question. :blink: I'd be pretty upset if what I just saw happened b/t me and Nightwing and one of us got 2 out of 3 that easily.
You're probably going to have to revise your rules once more so that if one gets the question right, they are not the one to start the next question, thereby locking their opponent out of the game. ;))

I had originally wanted to go until all the questions were asked, but the pace of answers were far too slow. So I cut the questions down to 5, but you opined that it was still too long.So the rules have been modified as seen above.If we have another tournament like this down the road, I'll be better prepared .

I'm aware of that, but you can't possibly think that the Threehorn vs. Wierd Raptor wasn't another trial run too, because that brought about another problem: Threehorn by virtue of answering his questions right shut out WR before he could even give an answer, so the winner of the question, CANNOT be the one to get the question first the next time. It's another modification, but it would be better to have all these worked out before the finals. ;)

I would have to guess the show is MASH. The show takes place at a moble army surgical hospital (MASH :lol: ) in Korea. I never saw the final show or when the series ended, but I do see the reruns every weekend after the news as well.
