Recently joined this one Disney Forum and i made a topic about the Land Before Time. (Also the reason why i made that topic asking about 'original endings' because someone mentioned that ending where everyone died) but the most recent reply was about an upcoming LBT movie and they said it would be called 'The Growing Skystone'. Decided to hop on over to wikipedia and sure enough, in the red was the same title. I know Wikipedia isn't the most accurate, but atleast it's something..  :p

The Growing Sky Stone is to put it frankly a polar body.

It is a VERY common hoax title and a sarcastic reference to the Chicxulub Impact (the event commonly held to have caused the extinction of the dinosaur).

Every time you see that title, rest assured it is 100% false.

Please read and rate: Land Before Time: Twilight Valley - The GOF's original LBT war story.

One thing the people who make these false names forget is that Land Before Time doesn't take place around the K-T event. The ending lines of the first film confirm it; "And they all grew up together in the valley. Generation upon generation, each passing on to the next, the tale of their ancestors' journey to the valley, long ago." So their future is assured at least, as their story became a folk tale (and I suppose the sequels and tv series were the short stories with morals that pop up in every culture). Besides, because Stegosaurs and Apatosaurs (judging by the fossil record) are supposed to have died out before the Cretaceous, we can assume that LBT takes place in the Early Cretaceous period (taking advantage of the fact that fossils will never be able to prove the exact date of extinction), and are therefore safe.

Unless it is backed up by an official statement from Universal or some official material, anything along the lines of "The Growing Sky Stone" are rumors at best. It is best to ignore them, and not to trust Wikipedia about this.

Just for future reference, you may want to read the sticky topic "Regarding LBT 14 Topics". In the past, we've had numerous speculation topics about a possible sequel, but every single topic was only backed by Wikipedia or IMDB.com or some other non reliable source. To prevent littering the board with any more of these topics, we made it an official rule to never post any topics regarding a new movie or TV series unless there is official evidence or proof from a reliable source such as a cast member or Universal itself. Don't worry, things happen, and we would all like another movie, but at the rate things are going, a new movie may never see the light of day.

Oops. :| Sorry about that. You may close/delete the topic then if you want. :|

As for the title 'The Growing Skystone'? It might not refer to an asteroid coming. It could be a different kind of Skystone.

Anyways, you may feel free to close the topic.
