General Land Before Time / Funniest moment in the whole franchise
« on: July 09, 2013, 03:48:30 PM »
*is rolling all over her place at reading these*

Another one I liked and that hasn't been mentioned yet is at the beginning of the 6th movie after Grandpa just finished the stories and Grandma comes up. The way he acts when she accuses him of him telling the kids those stories again has me always think: 'whipped'  :lol

General Land Before Time / Grandma Longnec cries. :(
« on: July 09, 2013, 03:35:50 PM »
I can't decide between 4 and 10, cause in both she's crying because she is about to lose something very dear to her and neither she nor US know what's gonna happen. In the fifth we could be reasonably certain that the kids would be returned, but in the Fourth they could just as well have killed off her hubby and in the tenth it could have been reasonable that Littlefoot went with his father instead of them :(

As for why she is the one crying? Well, in the first one, Grandpa wasn't exactly in a position to cry, while in the second he might have been trying to stay strong for everyone's sake considering he DOES have a leaderposition, regardless of how they make their decisions. As for the third...  :confused dunno xD

Oh, don't worry, there will be action later in this story and it's two sequels (and the two side-stories), I just didn't want to use all my fight-write-skills this early in the story. Also, it's Grandpa's view at the end there, not Littlefoot's ;)

Episode Discussion / Discuss: The brave longneck sheme
« on: July 09, 2013, 03:04:03 PM »
I'm reviving all these dead topics here xD

Anyway, the way I figured that chase was developing was that the Longneck-herd was trying to have Chomper run to his parents, so that they'd be able to take both the child out and the adults they assumed would be in the Valley with him. Bam, problem solved! You can go home and tell the other dinosaurs you solved their Sharptooth-problem without having to worry them.

Or I am overthinking everything and giving them way too much credit, of course  :p

Character Discussion / duckys dad and ceras mum/sisters
« on: July 09, 2013, 12:23:34 PM »
Well, this is only speculation (duh), but in the case of Cera's family (aside from her dad), when the Earthshake hits we see Longnecks and Threehorn(like) individuals fall into a newly formed ravine. Later we see that same ravin with Cera, her parents and LF's grandparents. Inspection reveals that the individuals who took a dive were about her size: hatchlings... Perhaps her sisters?

Not to mention one of the first lines is: "Predators waiting to seize any that strayed" (or something like that.) A grieving mother, who just lost all of her children surely won't be paying attention to where she is going... And by the time of the Flashback in 7, she is gone... Unfortunate Sharptooth-encounter?

As for Ducky's father, I do believe someone once told me that they cut his time to reduce reminders of the father of Ducky's first VA, who... well, we all know that story :(

I figured she meant 'which status quo are you talking about?' and so I explained that :/

Sorry if I messed up the meaning of your question, DarkHououmon :(

Well, in defense of the Status-Quo, her hubby had to risk his neck (pun totally intended) for the Sharptooth to fall
Status quo?

Well, the Status Quo that her hubby is the main fighter :p He can deal with Sharpteeth on his own (as in, no other Longneck needs to get involved), but she still needs help (him tripping the Sharptooth she rammed) to bring a Sharptooth down. Not to say that she couldn't have done it on her own, but just saying at that particular moment she needed help...

Speaking of the tenth movie, I am rolling on the floor with laughter every time I watch her join the battle:

Random Longneck: Don't go, there are Sharpteeth out there!
Grandma: So is my Grandson!

What about your hubby, dear? The one you're going to help? Or your son-in-law? Nope, they're not important enough for her :p Screw you if you get nommed, as long as Littlefoot is okay, she's fine with it  :lol

Well, my Chapters have an average length of about 1.5 or 2 pages in Word, and most of my LBT-stories are about 7 of those (though I have a Trilogy that averages longer and more chapters). So you won't be getting Harry Potter-LENGTH material, though I have heard they are good QUALITY, but that is everyone's own opinion :3

I uploaded the first chapter of said Trilogy and depending on how many people read it in one day, I might make the time between updates smaller until I catch up with myself :p

I guess that was just one of her awesome moments, like in LBT 10 when she just went and bashed a sharptooth off a cliff. :p
Well, in defense of the Status-Quo, her hubby had to risk his neck (pun totally intended) for the Sharptooth to fall  :lol

But yes, when she climbed back up there I was like   cause she managed to hoist over 20 tons up there with surprising ease!

Different moment of Awesome: that tree-root HELD at least a good part of 20 tons!!! You go, random unnamed Tree-root!

The earthshake had been minor, toppling only a few small trees which had quickly been cleaned up. But several of the entrances to the valley were only closed with heaps of rubble, so to ensure their safety, it was decided they should be checked up upon.
That is how Grandma Longneck found herself climbing up the path to the side of the valley where the Bright Circle touched down. She was not alone however: behind her trailed her grandson and one of his friends, the little Sharptooth named Chomper.
“What will we do when it is open?” Littlefoot asked, climbing up the path beside her. Chomper followed the young longneck. He had grown over time, now being nearly the height of Ruby.
“We will warn the others and close it.” She raised her neck, checking whether she could see the entrance already. “But it is unlikely it’ll come that far: the rock above is brittle and the slightest tremor can cause it to collapse.”
“Oh…” Littlefoot looked back into the valley, seeing the long neck of his grandfather in the distance.
“Oh dear…” His grandmother said, looking over some stones on the ground. It were strange stones unlike any he had seen ever before: they had a dark sand-color and there were imprints of shells on them.
“What are those?” Chomper picked one up, studying it.
“These are stones from the ravine we’re checking. If they are this far away it means that at least part of the blockade has collapsed.” The older longneck started walking again, this time a bit faster as before. “Quickly now.”
She gasped when she saw the ravine: the rubble had collapsed completely, while the surrounding rock had not, leaving a small hill even the clumsiest Dinosaur could climb across.
“Chomper, do you smell anything?” She looked down on the small Sharptooth who obediently scanned the air.
“No, nothing.” He said after a while. “But that only means there have been no Sharpteeth lately.”
“I understand. Both of you stay here, I’ll go and check.” Grandma Longneck carefully crossed the rubble, gingerly approaching the other end.
There was no sound, but that did not mean there were no dangers outside. Sharpteeth did not always roar before attacking. She steeled herself, stepping out into the Mysterious Beyond.
She looked around, each of her muscles tensed.
She whipped around at the sound of a hiss, her eyes widening when she saw Fast Biters.
“Children, run!” She called back through the ravine.
“Grandma!” Littlefoot answered her.
“Go, warn the others!” She had no time to check whether they had listened to her as more Fast Biters poured from between the surrounding rocks. She snarled as they started to screech at her, baring their teeth.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

The two boys ran as fast as they could down the mountain-side. Littlefoot all too well remembered the tone of voice his grandmother had used; he had heard it before when his mother had saved him and Cera from the Sharptooth which killed her. He did not want to draw any more parallels though: it simply couldn’t happen again.
“Grandpa!” The older longneck turned as he heard the desperate voice of his grandson.
“Littlefoot, what is it?” Grandpa Longneck lowered his head to face the two panting youngsters. He recalled that the two of them had joined Grandma Longneck and he was almost afraid to wonder why she wasn’t with them.
“Ravine open…” The boy panted. “Told us… to run…”
The old one looked up, feeling dread rise in his heart when he realized how far away he was from his mate.
Several other grown-ups joined him while Petrie’s mother flew ahead. Soon enough she returned, just as they were half-way up the mountain-side.
“There are about a dozen Fast Biters. She’s holding her own, but her strength is giving way.” The flyer flew over them, worry in her face. “We’ll have to hurry.”
The longneck’s face hardened as he sped up. He had a terrible feeling they would be too late.
“No!” He screamed as he saw the ravine. On the other side a longneck was balancing on her hind-legs, towering far above any other dinosaur. Her back was to him, but he could recognize her even in the dark: his mate. She turned her head to look at him, weakly smiling and allowed herself to lose her balance. Over 20 tons of massive muscle crashed against the side of the ravine. The Earthshake had not caused the walls to collapse, but the weight of the adult longneck most certainly did.
The last he saw of her was her body on the ground with Fast Biters approaching the unmoving longneck. Then there was only rubble and dust.

I'll do it every Saturday then, just like I update on FF.net (though they're gonna run behind by a fair margin, but a flood of them won't work either xD). I have... what?... at least 10 FINISHED fanfics over there and some more In-Progress :3

For spoilers, go there xD

I totally agree with that :3

Though she certainly was weakened with age, there are plenty of hints that she is more than capable of bashing some Sharpteeth if they think her dinner, one of which (at least I think is a good one) is in the infamous 13th movie at the beginning when she saves Littlefoot from falling to yet another untimely dead :)

Grandparents!!! *is flailing through the forum at the thought*

God, I love these two, they're just sooooo... I can't find the words... so PERFECT together! :D

And good lord, are they awesome too, what with surviving/doing things no RL Sauropod would DREAM about surviving! Though I have yet to find someone who thinks so too before I point it out to them :/ Oh well, that's what happens when you are so madly focused on a character that you skip from appearance to appearance in movies  :lol

Gotta agree with SRFG there, I too was wondering why the crap Saro stormed off like that o.O

More importantly, why did GRANDPA not go after him? I'd figure he'd want to rekindle such a close friendship even if they might part ways again with one of them in the MB and the other in the GV :/

Well, somerandomfangirl dragged my ass over here, so here I am  :D

Hi, my name is Sleeping-force's-inside (for those over at FF.net, yes, that's my name there too :3 ). Well ok, my name is Jacqueline, but whatever, this is the internet xD
I'm 21 and I rediscovered LBT at 20 (I liked them when I was younger, but then simply lost interest) and I recently bought the first 11 movies :)

Said 11 movies are also my favorites, since the thirteenth i.m.o just sucked after the first ten minutes orso :x , and the TV-series also failed to deliver what I expected of it (though it had its' nice moments).

As my point-out to FF.net might already imply, I am an avid Fanfiction-writer/reader (though woe the day you were born when you kill off Littlefoot's grandparents!!!   :anger  I hate those fics, but again: isse my opinion, not yours xD). I am still thinking about reposting said Fanfic's here though, since I have the nasty tendency to forget halfway along the way that I am reposting and then they just die on me :(
