British TV came up with another unseen episode this morning.
The episode starts with the gang running from two bellydraggers (alligators). Cera gets separated from the others and ends up trapped, but she accidentally sets off a rockslide that frightens the two sharpteeth away. When she finds the gang and tells them about it, Petrie flys around telling everyone in the valley, and suddenly everyone thinks Cera is a hero, even when she insists she isn't. However, the sharpteeth return, and they've brought friends...
The songs in the episode are "The Amazing Threehorn Girl", with a melody that I think is original, and an angry song (to the tune of I Feel Mad).

Wow, another episode. o_O
So that makes now 26 eps, right?
That makes 4 eps I have yet to watch.
OK....
The episode sounds interesting.
Alligators, huh? Maybe Dill is coming back. :D
-
25 that makes it to the wikipedia account.
but there the sky fire promise that circling around that could be the last one on the list. But this is another I wished to see... it so hard to do so without boomerang... for that you need digital...
-
I will KILL someone if I don't see this episode in 24 hours. MABEY THE SPIDER ACROSS THE ROOM, BUT I WILL KEEEEEEEEL SOMEONE.
-
I've heard of it, but sadly, I don't have it. :( :cry I hope I can get it soon! :^.^:
-
It came out in the UK, another one to come out before anywhere else, not many people that watch Boomerang have the stuff to do it with. If I had sky and get boomerang I could record it on a VHS then play it on my video player in my room cause I can plug that into my PC funny enough and record from that.
But sadly I don't have boomerang.
I got a idea. guys I know this might be a bit of a pain, if you record them on boomerang through a VHS tape at least and send them to me I could possible do something with it and get it on a PC format video file. Might be a long shot but I think I can do it :) then Landbeforetimelover can put it on his 4share location and we all can view it :)
Just thought of it as well lol.
So the ones we need is...
this one,
eyes through a Spiketail
March of the Sand Crawles and that other we are not sure about. if anyone can get it on a video I could do something with it :) I know there places that still sell blank VHS tapes like Poundland. it just a idea but it might work for all the GOF members :)
-
I have Boomerang, but I don't live in the UK.
-
One of the problems with this is that Boomerang doesn't identify the episode on the TV guide. That means the only way to know which episode it is, is to watch it.
-
You can guess how much I want to see this, since it focuses mainly on my favorite tomboyish threehorn. :D One thing I'm surprised by is that, according to your description, Cera doesn't let it go to her head. In all honesty, I kinda thought she would. :)
If CN doesn't show this, I'll SO kill them. *sharpens an axe*
-

I was surprised by that too.
-
I haven't seen it so I don't know. But I do hope that this idea works :)
-
i hope for ya ;)
-
I haven't had word yet from anyone that taped it yet... so still waiting on that
-
I saw this episode on Cartoon Network today, but I don't think Dil was in it.
-
Nope. It had some animation problems in it as well, such as the messed-up coloration on littlefoot's grandfather.
-
Another to hope to see on dvd someday.
-
Forgot to tell ya'll here that I got this ep recorded and on my site now. Just follow the link on my signature pic. :D

I really, really liked this episode. The whole story was good, there were some great lines ("Why would you tell us a lie that is not true!?") and, near the end, Cera's dad fighting the crocodiles was kind of surprising. I would type more, but I'm a bit busy at the moment.
-
Those were either huge crocodiles or tiny characters. :lol They were was big as Cera's dad!
-
There were giant crocs during the time of the dinosaurs that grew that big.
-
Yeah, the part where the crocodile just struggled through the canyon Cera ran down made me think "...okay...how big ARE these things?"
I think they were meant to be small Sarcosuchus or small Deinosuchus, both of which were 50-foot-something long crocodiles. Triceratops, on average, I think, were 30 feet long.
-
In order for me to view this particular episode I need a faster computer or internet connection...the one up at my college should work...
-
I liked the episode overall, the only slight problem I had was would it really take the gang that long to notice one of them was missing?
-
would it really take the gang that long to notice one of them was missing?
Watch it again. It wasn't really that long. The stupid intro (and commercials I so gracefully cut out) was in between the time when they got separated and when they realized she was missing. The actual time it took for them to realize she was missing was probably only a minute or so.
-
Hello:
That's correct, it wasn't a very long time. I suppose when you have a crocodile pursuing you, you are more focussed in trying to run as fast as you can.
The final battle was good, Cera's father fought well but I don't think it shouldn't be that easy if they were about 5 crocodiles. But he does know how to fight :yes
-
Maybe they were afraid not so much with just Cera's dad, but maybe they smelled the other adults were arriving as well.
-

Or felt them coming. I'd imagine when that many adult dino's walk together, it makes the ground shake pretty hard. :lol
-
Didn't think of that. It could also have been a combination of the two. And some of the adult dinos are quite large, like Littlefoot's grandparents.
-
The general population of the Great Valley is really naive. And I mean REALLY naive.
-
This was a good episode, one I would definately want to watch again.
I knew Cera would let the whole "hero" thing go to her head, it just took some convincing from all the others. When you lie, you've got to do it good and you've got to keep your story straight or it's easy to tell it's a lie. I've seen that mistake made too many times in quite a number of shows and I was highly expecting her to tell quite a number of things that just weren't true. I also highly expected the two kinds of songs that would appear. One to celebrate Cera being a hero, the other of how they feel after the truth is revealed. (Both are going to be tricky for me to give out due to all the grown-ups doing them and we don't even know the names of some.) In short, it was good, but I highly expected everything that was coming, even though it was my first time seeing it all and I had VERY little knowledge of it in the end.
Good, but oh so predictible! :^.^:
Next one for me is "The Great Egg Adventure", which will come up on Tuesday.
See ya later! :^.^:
-
It was a good, but predictable episode. Certain episodes like this will occur in every cartoon series for the most part. Odd that the adults are that naive. But since there are not enough kid characters all that is left are the adults. If they had more kid characters they could have had them doing all that praising Cera stuff and being naive.
-
That's true. By the way, I think there were only four crocs in that episode.
-
To be honest, I really didn't like this episode much. It felt too much like a cheesy sunday morning cartoon they put on just so they can say they have something running on the channel. -_- It's not the worst ep, but it's far from the best.

I agree
-
Could be true, but it can still be an ok episode, or good compared to some other shows out there. Just perhaps not up to some of LBT best stuff perhaps.
-

"The Amazing Threehorn Girl" does not have an original tune. It shares the same tune as "Beyond the Mysterious Beyond," from LBT7.
-
To be honest, this episode disappointed me. The stupidity of the adult dinosaurs oversteps every limit here. I know that most of the dinosaurs ( at least the herbivorous species) were not particularly intelligent animals, but in the cartoons they are supposed to be able to think, not just to talk. Why did everyone believe Cera's story ( even if it wasn't even hers, but her father's) beyound any shadow of doubt, only because some friend of hers started to shout " Cera - hero!"? They didn't even consider the possibility that they were, to put it mildly, exaggerating. It was rather irritating, when even Spike, who usually doesn't care much about anything that has nothing to do with food, started behaving like a lackey and waving with a leaf above Cera's head, like with a fan. Only Ruby and Littlefoot seemed to regain some sense at the end. And it was very unfair that, when everyone found out it wasn’t true, they went mad at Cera, not at her [censored] father who was responsible for the whole thing. By the way, what was so special about scaring a pair of crocodiles? All the main characters have already distinguished themselves in fighting sharpteeth in the other cartoons, but nobody of the adults said they were heroes. For example, when Spike knocked Chomper’s mother out in “Land before time 2”, nobody talked about an " amazing spiketail boy".
-
True, the episode has certain flaws and juvenile fiction often does as far as portraying adults in the way that you saw so the kids have a reason to do things.
I found a few things funny like the 2nd Maiasaur who kept vanishing, or turning invisible also the longneck, I guess it was a teenage longneck, was hanging around, but didn't get involved in singing in the second song with the others.
-
Yeah, you're right, Dwalin, there are some incongruencies in the episode, but I honetly didn't see them (though that was because I was too busy predicting every plot device before it actually happened.) Seems every kids TV show has an episode of this type, and they all follow the same exact formula. Strange.
-
I've noticed that, but I try to ignore it. I guess they do it since some of the writers are not super skilled and / or it makes coming up with an episode plot easy since there are certain ones they always do. Some other series you can do the same with. Certain ones that last multiple seasons tend to have certain plots that appear once a season or so.
-
I seem to remeber as a kid watching some program regulary, and liking it, despite the fact that EVERY SINGLE EPISODE followed the same pattern. Even now, years later, I can recall it to mind if I try hard enough.
It reminds me of something Charlie Brooker once said, he was talking about some television program and commented about it was in some way comforting that some things never changed. It probably helps small children to introduce routine in TV, as it does with school and bed-times.

This episode has a lot of things I dislike
- Adults are even more gullible than Petrie, BY FAR.
- Bad songs... adults can't sing.
- Overall annoying plot: Idea for this ep was just meh.
- My Grandma is scarier than there bellydraggers:rolleyes
Sure there are things I actually enjoyed such as a few lines that are pretty funny but the negative points are stronger.
I don't bash this ep, I just don't like it... others may do like it.
-
This episode was almost as bad as the thirteenth movie. Ridiculous, by far the worst episode.
-
hmm, it made me think - what episdoe is the worst for me?...
is there a thread for ranking episoes?
-
I don't think so. It's a good idea though.
One of my friends called this episode "The Abysmal Threehorn Girl".
-
Where to start, how about "The Amazing Threehorn Girl Song?" I hated that song for the fact that it used the tune to "Beyond the Mysterious Beyond."
I thought that Cera seemed a little off. She usually sees a chance to get praise and attention and will take it. Instead, the others inflate Cera's ego to the point of which she makes up a story.
I did like the episode, though. I like the way they have Littlefoot and Ruby be the only logical ones who knew the true story. I'm torn between giving this episode 4 out of 5 or 5 out of 5.
Edit: Sorry, I'm discussing the wrong episode. This is my review for "Search for the Skycolor Stones."
-
Before I saw this episode, I'd heard that it was apparently supposed to be dreadful. But I was skeptical of that. How bad could it be, really? Besides, it's a Cera-centric episode. That's always a plus. Needless to say, I was looking forward to this one.
...
...
...
Well... now that I have seen it, I can see why it has that reputation...
I thought it was going to be a solid episode at first. We have a great opening chase scene with the belly draggers, and then Cera getting separated from her friends and getting trapped. I'd even go so far as to say that this is one of the best opening scenes out of all the episodes.
And then it all fell apart from there...
As soon as Cera's story began to take off, it became painfully obvious what the episode's moral was going to be. I could see it coming a mile away. Not that "lying is bad" is a bad lesson in itself. But it is often a predictable and overused lesson in fiction and entertainment. And it tends to fall victim to the "liar revealed" trope, which I am generally not a fan of as it is. However, that alone isn't where my issue lies.
What really bugged me was the way they handled the lesson here. Because Cera actually was being honest and humble about the whole thing at first. It was her friends and the rest of the Great Valley residents who blew things out of proportion and went out of their way to gush over her and heap endless praise upon her, even before Cera herself began to exaggerate any of the details.
And then of course once the inevitable reveal happens, everyone gets all mad at her, even though they themselves were just as responsible for the story getting so out of hand. At the very least, Topsy eventually owned up to his part in it. But it still bothered me how Cera got so badly punished for something that wasn't even really her fault, and nobody else ever got called out for how ridiculous they were being. And then the episode abruptly ends, and it didn't feel like there was any sort of proper resolution either. Why did Cera have to single-handedly take the blame for all of that? It doesn't make sense to get so mad at someone for being egocentric if you were the one responsible for building up their ego to that level in the first place. Yeesh!
And even if Cera really had done all those amazing things, why on Earth did everyone else react with such over-the-top awe? I mean, sure, scaring off those predators and protecting the Great Valley is a heroic thing to do. But Cera would hardly have been the first. We've seen countless examples in the series of characters fighting off sharpteeth and saving the day. Why does everyone suddenly decide to start treating Cera like she's some sort of god? No-one ever reacted like that in the past, even when a character did do something heroic. So why now? It kinda made the Great Valley residents look like a bunch of idiots. Ironic that it was really Cera who was the most level-headed character in this episode.
So, with all that said, was there anything I did enjoy? Actually, yes, there were a few positives. I liked the "Amazing Threehorn Girl" song. As ridiculous of a plot as this was, we at least got a catchy song out of it. We also get a pretty good fight scene at the end when Topsy charges in to save Cera from the belly draggers. Lastly, the final scene between Cera and Topsy was touching, when he tells her that she'll always be amazing to him no matter what. If nothing else, it's little moments like these that have made Topsy grow on me.
But alas, none of that was enough to save the rest of the episode. This one was a complete dud.
-
honestly for once I'd go easy on Cera for this one.
At the begining of the episode, she tried to tell everyone of what really happened, but the gang pushed her into making up a story.
Even her father, who litterally tried to push her into lieing when Cera was about to tell her story to the whole valley.
She didn't get a chance to tell what really happened. And when everyone cept interupting her she just went along with it, and eventually got carried away.
